I moved my horse here after he began coughing at his last barn. The barn is kept very clean and the staff strives to minimize the amount of dust the horses are exposed to. They sweep the aisle several times per day, always sprinkling water on it before doing so. Beth was very welcoming, and offered to have her staff wet down my horse's hay. The hay is excellent, as is the stall bedding. Because he has his own gravel/grass turnout, he can choose to be inside or out, even on a wet day. Because of his new environment, my horse's cough has resolved.
Other amenities include insulated water buckets, overhead fans, a lovely outdoor arena, a heated indoor arena, round pens, and several large tack rooms within the barn so your horse supplies are never far from your horse's stall. Boarders can ride on the quiet, 25 acre property, or store their trailer on-site to venture out to many nearby riding trails. There are 2 large grass pastures for turn-out, and lots of delicious places to hand-graze, if you choose.
A personal down-side for me is that the horses are not turned out together to socialize and groom each other. Many boarders find this a plus, as with no direct contact there are no bites, or kicks from hooves that might be shod. My horse was formerly turned out with many other geldings and enjoyed the companionship and tussles of a herd. Turnout is limited to 8 hours/day.
The owner and her staff are very attentive to the horses' well-being. The fact that many, many of the boarders have been here 10+ years speaks to the quality of this stable. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to board their horse in this area. read more
