They weren't the cheapest quote but they certainly weren't the most expensive by several thousand dollars - and I really liked the look of their walk-in showers. I worked with David, the owner and Loree, the office manager, both were professional and pleasant to deal with - and what they promised, they delivered. They also gave excellent advice on what would work best in my small bathroom. The shower was installed this week on time and with a minimum of fuss even with a slight hiccup in the installation of the sliding door. All the trades people who came to work over the four days were on time, professional and competent. Cannot recommend this company highly enough. Five stars.

Simon Taylor agreed to take on our small kitchen & bathroom reno - replacing kitchen cabinets & countertop, building a new bathroom vanity, installing baseboards throughout the condo, and installing some custom built-in shelving. After WASTING FIVE WEEKS OF OUR TIME with ongoing promises to show us his sketches & provide us with estimates for the work - NONE OF WHICH WE EVER RECEIVED, Simon completely ghosted us - leaving us completely in the lurch with NOTHING EVEN BEGUN, before we had to move in to our new home. We haven't had a word from Avalon Industries in over a month now, and the work was supposed to be completed by this date. Although at first we appreciated being told that he couldn't get our estimate to us because of family outings, his brother's birthday, and "spending the morning with his tools" took precedence, after a few weeks, Simon's excuses got pretty tired. We kept with it and continued to communicate with him, having been so pleased with Paul's previous work. Simon never initiated contact, and after "working with" him for five weeks, we didn't receive even one word of explanation to inform us about why Simon completely disappeared on us. Now we're sitting in an unfinished condo - thank goodness we hired our own painters & flooring installers, instead of relying on Simple Simon to look after that, too. We now have nice walls & floors - but no baseboards, no new kitchen, no updated bathroom, no new lighting fixtures or shelving. For that work, we're back to hunting for a new, RELIABLE AND HONEST contractor. Hopefully, whomever Simon is today leading around by the nose with his useless promises, will wise up and find someone new, too, before Simon manages to fritter away weeks or months of their valuable time. We would recommend Avalon Industries to our worst enemies, because we're cruel to our enemies. Everyone else, please give the company as wide a miss as possible - they are 100% promises and LIES.

The bad comment is regarding a billing issue, we waited a month to receive our invoice, after a month they called. somebody had sent the invoice to the wrong email address, but upon speaking to the manager ( he had the correct email address) and stated he would send the invoice again. I emailed him back later that day and stated I still hadn't received the invoice, he replied that they had indeed sent to to the right email address and that they could see the email had been open and read.. implying that we had read it, we had not. The service we received to fix the issue was amazing, the service while waiting for our invoice and the implication that we read the email was not appropriate as we were the ones trying to figure out why we hadn't received our invoice in the first place. We love using North Saanich for our plumbing needs, just the issue with billing and the manner for which it was handled this time was not.

Some young man came and spent about 1 and a half hours trying to scope the drains. Due to an inoperational camera, he left and came back in a few days to finish the job. I was originally billed about $650 for this service. After complaining about that it was reduced to $490. I had another plumber come in and do the same thing with three recommendations for fixing it. He charged $168! So if you want to pay 3x what any other plumber would charge, go for it!

He quickly came up with a design plan, a quotation that was within our budget, and a timeline.
