Went to location, received quote and paperwork for hood replacement. Job to start on 8/16/2021 per their representative Frank Butrico on 7/30/2021. I tried to call on Saturday the 14th to verify all was ready but the phone just continually rang and rang and rang. No machine and no answer. On Sunday the 15th I dropped my car off at J & L and left my keys on the box. Job to take 2-3 days per Frank. Today I called to see how things were going and they told me they had not even touched the car yet. I get that hiring reliable people is difficult due to Biden's handouts, but what happened to common courtesy. One phone call to me is all that would have been required to explain the situation. I can't just leave them my car and hope it's done in the next week or two! I have responsibilities to my family and work. I will never deal with people who are so epically disrespectful. When I picked up my car the two space savers were sitting at their desks doing absolutely nothing. How hard would it have been to pick up a phone ( they certainly had my contact info) and call me. I was sent to this body shop by my insurance company to fix minor damage to my front passenger side bumper. I guess I thought since my insurance company sent me and had given me a claim number, J and L had also been given the claim number. When I first went into the shop, Frank was very rude to me, telling me "You can't leave it today! You need an appointment." That was fine but his tone was pretty arrogant. So I made an appointment to fix the minor damage to the front passenger side bumper that was caused when an orange cone that the car a bit in front and to the right hit and then it bounced into my car. On the morning of my appointment I arrived a a few minutes after 9:00 am. I got a loaner rental car and went home. At about 11:45 I got a call from Frank asking me "What about the other fender?" "What other fender?" He told me it was banged up. I couldn't understand what he was talking about. There was nothing wrong with it when I dropped it off. I asked him to send me a picture thinking it was another car. When I got the photo I was mortified! There was no way I could have even driven the car had it been that way when I drove it that morning. I asked him to get me the footage from his security camera, but he said it stopped working last week. (How convenient.) Bottom line, I would never recommend this company for any work ever! I cannot believe the service! I dropped my car off Sunday and was promised it would be done in a few days, my car was done by the end of the day. I have never experienced that! Whenever I have brought my car in anywhere else there has been delays and hidden charges. Not here! Price was up front and fair, customer service is A+. Previous reviews seem to be on par with my experience. My car was involved in a hit and run and I needed to have my bumper replaced. I brought my car into Progressive's Service Center and unfortunately they forced me to send my car to this shop. When I got my car back my leather seat was scratched and my backseats were dirty. Apparently the guys at this shop felt the need to go through my trunk and throw everything into my backseat. :-/ Oh, and as for the repair, from what I can see it looks okay, but I wouldn't recommend this shop. I went to 3 different shops before going to Progressive and they told me the job would take 3 MAYBE 4 days. My car was in the shop for over a week, which is crazy considering that auto body shops give preference to insurance companies. I'm glad to have my car back, but I wouldn't take it back here. If you're smart you wouldn't go here either. There are far better shops around. read more

I walked in to get an estimate for two tires. The guy at the counter was on the phone, I waited more than five minutes for him to finish his conversation. I asked him for the most reasonable price on tires. He quoted me $122 per tire. I told him that is too much. He responded by saying that my car is a weapon and that he wouldn't feel comfortable with me driving the car knowing that his family could be killed. That he would kill such a person. Then I asked him how much would you charge for a brake job, he responded that I would not be able to afford them. So I just walked away... what a way to loose a customer.... read more

I went to J&L auto body in February of 2017 as I was involved in a minor accident on the front passenger side. I had the fender and headlight replaced and the front bumper painted. A few months later the paint on the front bumper was cracking and peeling off. Minor at first, but it kept getting worse. Later that year, in November I reached out and told them the issue. I brought the car in, and if I remember correctly a gentleman named Joe said it would be warrantied and repainted free of charge, although he suspected it was due to me hitting things. The only time I ever hit anything was going slightly over a parking stall cement block, earlier last year before the accident. I left the car there, only to get a call a few hours later that they are now refusing to warranty the work and that I must pay to have it repainted. After some back and forth, I agreed to pay it as the car looked terrible, and I had to go visit family the following week. $250 later, a "discounted" price I was told, the car was painted. I got home and looked at the job, and there was already a stress crack under the clear coat. It was small so I didn't complain. Now fast-forward to today, and I'm the same areas as before the paint is cracking. I took it to a buddy who has a body shop, and he said the issue is likely due to the paint itself. I have been more than diligent not driving over anything, and have never hit anything since the last time it was painted. I am beyond disappointed with this shop, and with myself for giving then my money after botching the paint job the first time. Last night my car broke down on 287. I was close to J&L, so I managed to get it there and left it overnight while dropping my key off with no idea if they could help me today. I called this morning at 8, and they understood that I was 3 hours from home and Mitchell got my car in and fixed by noon today with no issues. His customer service was amazing and I'm so lucky that when my 2011 car decided to quit, that I was close to a place that didn't try to rip me off and did not waste any time helping me. J & L Auto Center has excellent service! The staff is very professional and honest. I had over $6000 in damage on my SUV in October. They were very quick to write my estimate, work with my insurance and repair my SUV. I received my SUV back within 3 weeks of the accident. It was repaired perfectly and It looked amazing. So I unfortunately had to bring my 2018 Honda Accord here recently twice in a week (a busted fender in an accident, and a shattered windshield from a tree branch), but both times they've done incredible work. Never ever come to this place. The customer service is awful. I change the wiper in this store, one of the guy in the front desk yelling at me when I accidently drive into their service parking lot. Let me sat this first. I DID NOT get my vehicle fixed here.....That is only half the story though. I pulled in with a battery issue. Optima yellow top was steaming and cooking. my alternator was charging intermittently and my computer was frying everything. I was trying to get to my grandmothers funeral in NC with my wife and my cousin in a 1986 Dodge Roadtrek class B RV, and we broke down in Jersey. I asked if they could take a look, and headed on my way to NC in a rental. They agreed to take a look. I was of course worried they would look for like 8 hours and tell me I had a $1,000 bill at the end. They called me after putting two hours into it and told me what the issues seemed to be. They said "if I look longer and start fixing things, we are gonna have to start spending your money." point is they were honest and up front about everything. I knew it would cost a . lot of money I have to replace 3 expensive parts now. I was of course also worried they would charge me for storing the van.... and they did not. They were very understanding and empathetic to my situation. They also did not charge me the full price of the 2 hours worth of work they did diagnosing and repairing fried wires. I have many miles under my belt and am very mechanical. THESE GUYS ARE HONEST. Thats what you want. They did not fix my van, but I sure as hell would let them.!!!!!! read more

I'm not a car buff and they were able to answer every question I had in addition to fixing my vehicle. My car broke down and I called them in a pinch.
