There is a lot to do here for kids. Bike riding, pool, petting zoo, hay rides, play park and much more. Having this many activities, you'd expect families and you'd be correct. With families and children comes noise, but that's ok because fun was being had by all. The nice thing is once the the quiet hours hit, that's what it got...quiet, so everyone was respectful of that. Also by Sunday, most families had cleared out, so then the days were mostly quiet as well. The property is very well maintained. The bathrooms and showers were clean and well stocked. They're easy to get to (especially from the spaces we occupied). The grounds are kept up and the staff is very friendly and helpful. We look forward to visiting here again!

There were movie nights, petting zoo,swimming pool, and on-site store and 1 food truck. Luckily there are many options for food within 20 min. We also enjoyed downtown Petaluma.

My family just got back from the most wonderful stay at River Bend! When we arrived Michelle, one of the owners, immediately greeted us in the parking lot with the biggest smile and took us right in to get us checked in and familiar with the campground. It was such a sweet touch to kick off our fun weekend. She and her husband have owned the resort for 26 years and over that time, they have made it into the gem that it is today! The entire resort was made with families in mind, which includes spaces and areas for all ages! There are tree houses, arcades, playgrounds, bike paths, movies, crafts, treats, games, scavenger hunts, tractor rides and so much more! We talked the whole way home about each of our favorite activities and there were so many wonderful amenities that it's hard to pick just a few. Every staff member we met was friendly and kind. The campgrounds are well-maintained and clean. There are spaces for individual families or large groups. We did tent camping this visit, but are looking forward to doing a canvas tent for our next visit. All of the cabins looked cozy and comfortable. We spent an entire afternoon at the river, which is just a short walk from the campground. The water was calm, shallow enough for most kids to play and swim, large areas for people to spread out and as a bonus River Bend provides lifejackets of all sizes that people are welcome to borrow. The river was perfection! We also loved the camp store! All of their merch was so cute! We picked up a few sweatshirts and they are so comfy. Thank you to all those at River Bend who have created this amazing location which has certainly helped make so wonderful memories that are sure to last forever. This was a 10/10 for our family! I did love the playground for our littles--we got lucky and got camp spots right next to one. River access was easy. Does get packed due to the fact they allow day users to access as well. We checked in on Sunday and stayed until Thursday. Give or take 3 whole days/night of the bathroom not being cleaned. Showers had clumps of hair, razors left on the floor--just gross honestly. I brought it to the attention of the maintenance guy to kindly ask when they would be cleaning next, to be answered with," I'm not sure, you can drive to the other bathrooms." Brought it to the attention to the guy in charge at the front, where I was then rudely spoken over as he answered the phone mid conversation, to then continue with their regular lady has Covid and he's had complaints about this maintenance guy a few times now. He did ask to give us free ice but I declined and said I just wanted clean bathrooms. Then to top it off, as any camp night slows down around a fire, laughs are had and stories are told, a worker comes over to tell us to be quit and accuses us of being on drugs(acid) to be exact. SMH. What a completely ignorant moron. Yes we were laughing and being a little loud, but no excuse for a worker to speak to any guest this way. Owners apologized but like I said for what we paid, the cleanliness, the distance some of us drove and how we were treated--would not waste my money again.

She is such a kind and generous person. She allowed me to use her WiFi, her phone, and let me and my kids wait for hours while our tow truck came. While waiting we got to see the plants and items she sells at her shop. She has beautiful hand crafted items as well as plants that are clearly very healthy and well cared for. Each plant was in a unique mug surrounded by sea glass or tiny sea stars. She has very neat antiques and even handmade crocheted items. I got to see her building some of her artwork made of natural materials like driftwood and abalone shells. She gifted my children a book and other things to keep them occupied while we were stranded. She has such a beautiful heart and beautiful store. It's definitely worth a stop by.

They have tent camping on a grasses area if that's what you are there for. There are a few full hook ups for rv sites as well. You are allowed to make a camp fire for your s'more and to keep yourself warm on those cool nights. It does get a little chilly and cold since you are by the beach so make sure you pack some warm close. If you are into fishing they will take your boat out and launch it for you to. The general store is fully stocked with all your essential needs if you forgot something or if you want to pick up to take home with you for a souvenir. The store also has coffee if you need something to get you going in the morning. The showers are clean and you also need coins to take a shower so make sure you bring some quarters. The beach is a few steps away with a beautiful view. We paid about $68 dollars a night but that is not with full hookups. So if you like camping and want to escape from the heat. Go heck this place out!

THEFT ALERT - I returned to site 209 from a day trip on the Peninsula and my camp was stolen. I placed 2 camp chairs on the tarp to secure the pile and left some other miscellaneous items to give further evidence the camp was occupied. I returned to camp and everything was gone. Gone! I recognize people are inherently bad, selfish, and entitled (see compliance with beach leash laws as a small example) but flagrantly breaking the unwritten rule of not fucking with other peoples' campsites is a new low. The money is not the issue (~$150 loss), its the evil, selfish behavior that is so shocking and disappointing. I hope the offending party rots in their own selfish delinquency and wish them nothing but the worst. I will not return to Lawson's.

As for the campground, the sites were clean and maintained. The facilities were also clean, the staff would thoroughly clean each bathroom and shower every morning and they emptied the trash bins throughout the day. They had activities for the kids and the pool and spa was always busy. Definitely would recommend this KOA
