And then I happened to be in the Green Hills vicinity with a package to mail. I knew there was a UPS store on Hillsboro Pike near the mall, so I gave them a try. Oh my goodness, what a tremendous difference between them and everyone else in the business!! I walked in expecting the same disappointment that I've experienced so many times with FedEx and the U.S. Postal Service. There were two customers being helped by two employees. I didn't have much tome, and this could take forever because there will inevitably be an issue with BOTH customers that takes 20 minutes to resolve. That's how it's always been in my experience. Suddenly, as I approached the counter, a third employee emerged and happily took care of me at her register. But surely there will be some sort of issue with my package, or a delay, or a poorly trained employee that turns a simple package drop off into some sort of saga, right? No!! Absolutely no saga!! She had my package checked in and was handing me a receipt in 30 seconds. It was literally 30 seconds from the start to the finish of the transaction!! I was stunned! Thank you, UPS in Green Hills, for a painless and effortless experience far beyond any other way to ship packages in Nashville! I didn't know such a thing still existed.

Hmmmm.... So…read more Received two debating bits of information on how to ship a 4 pack of Nashville's finest, Yazoo as a Thank You gift to some friends in Vermont. USPS let me know from the get-go that I was not "allowed" to do this through them but the helpful clerk reached out to a FedEx driver who happened to pop in while I was there. He stated that it would not be a problem to ship from FedEx at all. While I'm tuned into many facets of the world, shipping is not an area of focus for me... so I took his word for it and headed into this Green Hills location when I was in the area later that afternoon. They seemed to be a tad short-handed but the wait wasn't unbearable. A staff member addressed my shipping needs (nice older lady) and asked another co-worker what the process was to ship. While I couldn't hear him, she relayed that they would NOT be able to ship the package due to it being "beer" and that "the driver who stated that I could was just that, a driver..." Hmmm. That's not cool. I went ahead and purchased a box to pack the 4 pack and some bubble wrap until I figure out how to get this to VT. Again, it's a bit bothersome that their employees don't have the same information on their day-to-day policies as it can cause some conflict with their customers. I can't be the first person who has tried to ship some beer, right? All in all, the lady was nice enough I suppose but it's just a little off-putting by how she really didn't address the issue and offer any solutions.

This FedEx Office location is astonishingly incompetent…read more I ordered a print job online to save time -- the first attempt was done incorrectly, despite clear specifications. When I followed up and gave them a second chance, they cancelled the order outright with no explanation. No call. No clarification. Just cancelled. The staff are slow, disorganized, and seemingly uninterested in resolving problems they create themselves. This isn't a one-off mistake -- it reflects a complete lack of basic operational standards. If this store is unable to handle routine print orders accurately, it shouldn't be offering online ordering at all. At a minimum, the regional manager needs to investigate this location, because whatever oversight exists here is clearly not working. I would strongly advise anyone with time-sensitive or professional print needs to go elsewhere.

It's a very famous print shop that prints posters for musicians, sports teams, and everything in between, but we had never heard of it. The print shop is currently located in the same building as the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, and we discovered the print gift shop the day before, as we walked through the side entrance of the building instead of the main entrance to get to the museum, although we didn't realize at the time the significance and history of the print shop, or that there were tours available. We found out about the tour (and the existence of the print shop) when we went to purchase our tickets for the museum. At the ticket desk, there was a sign with the prices of museum tickets and print shop tours, and the very friendly museum employee asked us if we knew about the print shop, which we didn't. We didn't have time for a tour of the print shop the same day we went to the museum, but fortunately we were able to purchase tickets for the next day. The cost of the tour was $23US, and the tour was about an hour. They tell you about the history of the print shop and the printing technique used (letter press printing, no more than three runs through the press), and then you have the opportunity to "print" your own mini souvenir poster (the first two layers/colors are already done, and you put the poster through the press for the third round, adding the last color). What's really cool is that every year they have a different souvenir poster, so they sort of become collectors' items, and getting a mini poster is worth the cost of the tour. The majority of the tour, where they explain the history of the print shop and the printing technique, and where you print your poster, takes place in a room covered in posters. After the talk, they allow ample time for you to take photos of all the posters. I absolutely loved the tour, and it was one of the highlights of my trip to Nashville. We had never heard of Hatch Show Print, and we were thrilled to discover it. If you go to Nashville, a tour of the print shop is an absolute must. And after the tour, if you show your tour ticket, you get 10% off in the gift shop. (Of course we bought several items!) [Yelp collections: Nashville, TN 2026]
