The food was delectable! We started with appetizer Mexican City Spinach Con Queso including chips and salsa. Yummy! It was served piping hot and portion was plentiful for sharing. I enjoyed a Lemon Drop Martini and it was so strong I diluted it with my water! We had an awesome server. He started with telling us the items of the day and making menu recommendations. His attention to detail was impeccable and he made sure we were checked on without being overbearing. Dining with a toddler he made sure hot plates were out of reach. The restaurant was super busy but there wasn't a long wait for our meals. I enjoyed a Steak Maui, Smashed Potatoes, Alex Salad and Not Your Ordinary Mac & Cheese. As we were celebrating my June birthday I received a carrot cake with candle that the toddler immediately blew out which was a hoot! He carefully packaged everything in to go containers and made sure to separate our bags. It was a lovely dining experience!

We sat at the bar. McKayla was a great bartender. I had the Hugo Spritz which was so refreshing on a summer day. He had the old fashioned. We started with the Smoked Salmon Dip. It was really good. He had the Steak Maui which looked really good. I had the Slow Roasted Prime Rib with smashed potatoes. It was good, but a bit fatty. Overall, it was a good experience.

We were invited to dine here on the third night of our visit to Michigan for Christmas vacation. We met our family members here and it was a wonderful time. The staff here is excellent. We ordered: 1 Spinach Queso Dip in bar 1 Deviled Eggs for the table 2 Crabcake Entrees, 1 Cheeseburger with Shoestring Fries, 1 Grilled Chicken Sandwich with Shoestring Fries, 1 Rotisserie Chicken with Mashed Potatoes, 1 Salmon Entree with risotto, and 1 Cobb Salad with Chicken. Everything was well prepared, hot, and tasted perfectly. Items came out in good time, 3 entrees, then 2 entrees, then 2 more entrees, within 3-5 minutes for the serving time. At our table we wait for everyone to get their food before eating, so waiting 5 mins from the first item delivered to the table was reasonable. Our server was named Tee or Tay and she was excellent. Staff was friendly and the place was clean. Overall, this was a great family dining experience. As a note, they have a full and very busy bar that seemed to be a popular place to enjoy for pre-dinner drinks.

The best steak salad I ever had. This steak was soooo tender and seasoned to perfection. No complaints. Arrived when the restaurant opened and the crowd was steadily arriving. The service was phenomenal and the ambiance is clean and causal.

Sat at the bar on Christmas Eve and it was very busy but the staff was incredible. Great teamwork and very attentive. I really enjoyed the steak salad. My cousin ordered the ahi tuna salad and commented that it was "fishy" she was not feeling well by the end of dinner and sadly left with food poisoning.

I met my college roommate here while I was in town. We must have spent 2 1/2 hours catching up as it had been ages since I last saw her while in town. We were planning dinner but settled on two appetizers with drinks instead. The servings were huge! Good choice. My signature lemon drop martini was outstanding. It came with a side portion; about half a glass. Our server said it was one of the most popular drinks that people order. My friend had a red wine. My friend, whose place I was staying at recommended the carrot cake so we ordered it and both our eyes widened when we saw the size of it. It was enough for four! I highly recommend you get the cake. It was super moist. I think our server's name was Nylah. She was a gem for putting up with two old time friends taking up table space for so long. We did tip well to make up for it. I would definitely come back to meet my friend again, but I always stay across from Somerset when in town, so I will check out that location next time!

Ask the Community - J. Alexander's

I've heard that this location may be closing soon. Is that accurate information? If it is I would like to travel back to Michigan and have dinner a last time before it does. I have too many memories here!! Please respond!

Not sure if they are closing but it wouldn't surprise me. The service and food is not the same as it used to be years ago unfortunately.

Back in May, I took my son to Sedona Taphouse before his 5th-grade graduation ceremony. He was wearing a brand-new outfit that was completely clean when we arrived. By the time we left, his clothing had black stains, red stains, and other marks all over it. The manager reviewed the surveillance footage and acknowledged that my son arrived with no stains on his clothing. She also confirmed that he never left his seat or went to the restroom and remained at our table the entire time. Yet somehow, his brand-new outfit was ruined while we were there. What made this experience even more frustrating was the way management handled it. Rather than showing genuine concern or making a reasonable effort to resolve the situation, the manager offered to buy a Tide pen. A TIDE PEN? My son's brand-new outfit was covered in stains, and we were minutes away from his graduation ceremony. A stain remover was not an appropriate resolution. I understand that accidents can happen, but how a business responds when something goes wrong speaks volumes about its management. I felt dismissed, and there was a complete lack of accountability and empathy for what happened. This was supposed to be a special day for my son, celebrating an important milestone in his life. Instead, we were left dealing with ruined clothing and an incredibly disappointing interaction with management. Yes, this happened months ago, but the experience clearly left an impression, and I still feel that it deserves to be addressed. Customers should not have to fight to have legitimate concerns taken seriously. Unfortunately, our experience with Sedona Taphouse was not one I would want to repeat. The issue was not simply the ruined outfit; it was the way the situation was handled afterward.

Famous from the borscht belt performances. I really really enjoyed my meal of matzo ball soup in which the broth was elegantly poured into a large bowl with a huge matzo ball and some poached carrots. The broth was flavorful. I opted for a sandwich, after pouring over the menu on line and at the restaurant I really, really, needed pastrami. Nothing says deli with a nice bowl of pickles and some bread. Half sours and whole dill pickles. So I ordered the Russian Reuben. They offer two sizes the regular or the extra cut (probably another ounce or two) I about cannot have a pastrami without my Dr. Browns Cream soda... IYKYK... Topped it all off with a nice cinnamon pound cake. I felt this was good but it was not the best cake. I also took home some rugulah. Can't wait to come back and get my LEO OR WHITEFISH SALAD FIX! I finally made it on a free morning, just in time for an early lunch. On the day of my visit, it was cold and wet, so outdoor dining was out of the question. Just inside is a large deli counter with items available for take-out. Beyond that was a large and stylish dining room, where diners enjoyed the last of their breakfasts. I was a smidge earlier than everyone else for lunch; the dining room filled up soon afterwards. I loved the huge menu - there were so many options for soups, salads (Maurice, Greek, and Cobb, to name a few), sandwiches (Reuben's, triple deckers, and even vegetarian), burgers and hot dogs, breakfasts (omelettes, waffles, and French toast), and deli classics. I opted for the Victor Special, extra cut, which included larger portions of both corned beef and pastrami, coleslaw, Swiss cheese, and Russian dressing. The thinly-sliced meat was indeed piled high at the center. For my side, I had wanted the onion rings, but they were already sold out! Instead, I went with the hash browns; they were crispy with a mashed potato-like interior. In retrospect, I should have tried some of the foods I've enjoyed from my hometown: knishes, blintzes, latkes; I'm now dreaming of meals I've had in my past. Service was fine at first, but my server got busy elsewhere, and her coworkers pitched in.

For some reason, this area is just packed with unique brunch style restaurants and Leeza's is apart of it. Absolutely incredible menu. I love seafood brunch, and this is one of the few places that has shrimp, crab, lobster and salmon available in a variety of dishes. Another item that was unique and incredible was the Potato Pancake Benedict. As someone who is a previous Eggs Benedict addict, but who tries to avoid bread, the Potato Pancake Benedict is one of the best brunch innovations I've seen in the last 3 years. They let you use the modification with any of their Benedict offerings, so I choose to use it on the Crab Cake Benedict. I absolutely loved it. The Crab Cake didn't overdo it on the Cake, and was properly filled with crab (as it should be). The Hollandaise had a great (but not overpowering) flavor and had a nice, thick texture. The dish was an awesome revelation, and I'll be coming back because I don't know anyone else who has it Because I had the Potato Pancakes, I decided to go with the grits as my side and, again, they were unique and high quality. I got the butter and cheese grits and they were incredibly creamy with great, fresh cheese flavor. You also got a great portion, which was much appreciated. The waitress we had was awesome and my coffee was hot, high quality, and filled multiple times. The place has a ton of booths and parking is fine for the most part. This is a spot with so many good menu items that you have to visit multiple times to get the full picture. I'll be updating the review with any other dishes I try.
