Think twice about using Izukee or at minimum have the website hosted and serviced by a company unrelated to Izukee.
I can only speak of my own personal experience which I will share and which will hopefully be helpful to others. I hired Izukee to revise an existing website which consisted of taking an existing website and making revisions to the content with the format essentially remaining the same. I was told the existing website, which was done in a Joomla format was outdated, so the developer created it in Wordpress. I had no real complaints during the time the new website was created. Shengin was fairly responsive and had the website done. Since the layout for the website was already designed, I cannot comment on his creative aspect of website design, i.e., the look of the website was already developed by another designer and Shengjin took that design and created another website. I was satisfied with the website after it was done.
However, during the process there were some red flags that I should've taken note of. First, I informed Shengjin that I had already had an account with GoDaddy in anticipation of the website and would give him the account information so he could upload the website there. After the website was finished, he informed me that he had the website hosted by another company through his company as a reseller. I reminded him that I had a GoDaddy account already set up and he warned me about GoDaddy's web service but represented that he would move the website to GoDaddy for me at a later time, if I choose to. Thinking that since the cost of that had already been incurred and his raising the issues about GoDaddy, I agreed to keep everything as is for the time being with the thought that I may move my website from his hosting plan to GoDaddy later on. This is when things started to shift.
I emailed him on numerous occasions about my email account quota limitations associated with my website. He never responded to my emails about that. I started to get concerned about his lack of responsiveness and what would happen to my website. My concerns became more acute about his failure to respond to my emails so I decided to move my website to GoDaddy. Despite some of the concerns he raised about GoDaddy's web services, I thought they would be more responsive and accountable. I emailed him that I decided to move the website and he did not initially respond. When I needed an access code to move the domain, I realized that I wasn't the account owner and had to wait for Shengjin to provide that information. He provided that information after repeated requests.
Everything was moved to GoDaddy with the exception of the nameserver. All was well since the email quota was significantly increased until several weeks ago when the nameserver service period expired. I find out because I could no longer access my website. I emailed Shengjin about this but he failed to respond. With the help of GoDaddy, I found out the nameserver company and contacted them directly. I asked them to extend the term and informed them that I would pay for it. They explained that the account owner was the only one who could do that. I responded that I owned the website but they explained that they could not do anything for me and suggested I contact the account owner, Shengjin at Izukee. I called and left several voicemail messages and sent countless emails to Shengjin requesting that he either extend the term further (which I would pay for) or provide a backup of the website he completed for me that I paid for. Still nothing from Shengjin. I became very frustrated because the nameserver company told me that the files associated with my website would be deleted 30 days after the term expired which is in a couple of weeks. I no longer had access to my website and the only person who could help was simply ignoring my repeated requests.
I tried countless times to appeal to Shengjin about this issue explaining that the website I paid for was going to deleted unless he extended the service. He continued to ignore my requests. I finally decided to take matters into my own hands to warn others who would think about using him about my sharing experience. Yes, he completed my website without any real issues and I have no complaints about that. My complaint stems from his lack of customer service after the fact and failure to follow through on representations made. My concern and frustration arises from my recent experience. I offered to pay for extending the nameserver service. Nothing. I asked for a backup of the website I paid for. Nothing. This is a significant issue for me since I rely heavily on my website when attracting new clients. Arguably, I am entitled to at least the back up of the website and I am forced to move this beyond mere requests since the website I paid for is no longer accessible for anyone.
It's unfortunate really as I will have to seek legal remedies to seek relief. read more
