This review is long overdue. Ixora, the owner Lisa and her crew are as talented and professional as they come. I had a family member who was a florist in my home town. I was used to getting magnificent arrangements often. My husband found Ixora first a few years ago and they were the most beautiful flowers I'd ever received! We haven't used another florist since. Their creativity level is beyond amazing. Each time I receive one of their arrangements, my breath is taken away. I've sent flowers on occasions like funerals where many are received and theirs really do stand out among the rest. I've had recipients tell me so more than once. Their professionalism is second to none. They're prompt and friendly. They can go with my inspiration ideas, even just verbally. They go out of their way to be the cream of the crop and it shows. I want to thank Lisa at Ixora Floral Studio for the stunning flowers they provided us for our wedding Sunday July 1st. I cannot tell you how excited I was and how real the day became for me once they brought the massive box containing my bridal and all the bridesmaids' bouquets. As soon as they took my bouquet out I could barely contain my excitement! The colors and quality of the flowers were exquisite. The size and density of the bouquet was exactly what I wanted. My husband, (yay :D) loved his boutonniere -- which was a very important aspect of the personal flowers -- since he really knew what he wanted for them. We both appreciated that you took the time to meet with him to really understand his vision. The mothers' wrist corsages were also beautiful and very much appreciated. You did a wonderful job recreating their bridal bouquets. It really meant a lot to them. The low table arrangements and especially the tall arrangements were breathtakingly beautiful. The floating candles with the gold holders were perfect and I am glad that you gave me the option to add those short-notice. The archway for the ceremony was so beautiful and exactly what we talked about. The white drapes behind it made it feel so dreamy and magical. I was visiting friends and family, all night and yet, I couldn't help myself admiring them and leaning in to appreciate the gorgeous blooms and fragrances of all the arrangements. There are so many other examples of the stunning florals you did for us including the cake - all were wonderful and far exceeded our expectations. We received an incredible number of compliments about every aspect of the flowers! Aside from the appearance, the fragrance of the flowers was incredible. Danny, our photographer even commented on how nice the bouquets smelled. My mother-in-law said that even the bridesmaids' bouquets were so wonderful and big that they could have been bridal bouquets themselves (Don't worry I never felt upstaged!). I was so impressed with the amount and quality of flowers you provided us. I only remember seeing you once that day working hard on the archway. When I think about my wedding, my flowers are always something that I consider to be one of the highlights. I came in initially with an idea for flowers, but ended up changing my mind completely after seeing some of the beautiful things Lisa has done. In retrospect, I was also sort of a mess to deal with and Lisa was patient and amazing through my indecisiveness. We looked at pictures together and on the day of the wedding everything we discussed came out as I expected and even more so. The flowers were fresh and the colors gorgeous. If you don't have time to read my detailed review below, here is the bottom line: A company run as incompetently as Ixora should NEVER be entrusted with a once-in-a-lifetime event like a wedding, funeral, or memorial service. Their actual flower arrangements were just okay, nothing special. Their service was completely unacceptable. My beloved mom passed away recently, and yesterday we had a memorial service for her at The Langham Huntington, a swanky hotel in Pasadena. I hired Ixora because (1) they had done events at the Langham before, (2) they had a five-star rating on Yelp, and (3) they were conveniently located to the venue. I started to have doubts when the owner, Lisa, didn't respond to my emails or phone calls in what I would consider a timely manner. After we had settled our contract, I asked Lisa several times whether she had any questions for me. She told me we were "all set." I expected to arrive at the Langham on the day of my mother's memorial to see the flowers set up as we had discussed. What followed was a catastrophe. My family and I arrived at 2:00 pm to start setting up for the 4:00 pm service and were alarmed to find no flowers whatsoever. I called both of the phone numbers I had for Ixora and had to leave messages because no one answered. (I was not given an emergency number to call.) We were panicking when guests began to arrive and still no flowers. All of our guests were seated and waiting for the service to begin when the Ixora delivery person finally showed up at 4:20 pm (although later Lisa would claim that he arrived at 3:40 -- not true). The man arrived 20 minutes after the service had officially begun. He had to set up the flowers around my mother's urn and portrait in front of all of our guests. We were horrified that everyone had to watch a sweaty delivery man in T-shirt and shorts handling my mother's cremains. He also set up the flowers so that they half obscured my mother's portrait! And by the way, by the time the delivery man brought in the bouquet for the reception table, every single guest had already arrived and was seated inside -- so no one even saw the reception flowers. What an utter waste. The last thing a family needs is to be worrying about logistical details while trying to interact with guests and deal with their own grief. My father trusted me to handle the flowers for my mother's memorial. I felt a tremendous responsibility to fulfill his wishes and I was mortified that this was how it turned out. It was nothing short of a nightmare. Later that night after the service was over, I checked my email to find a message from Lisa that was clearly a cop-out trying to dodge responsibility for their mistake. She claimed that the hotel had given her the wrong start time (6:00 pm). My question is: Why didn't she ask me, the client, what time the event started? This seems like a critical piece of information that she should have confirmed before telling me we were "all set." When you hire a florist for a special event, you're not just paying for flowers -- you're paying for a service. Ixora did not provide the service we paid for. One of the most important days of my life -- the one in which I was to honor my mother's memory and share my grief with family and friends -- was ruined by what the owner of Ixora glibly called a "communication breakdown." Even though Lisa was well aware of the disaster that had occurred, she didn't call me until NOON THE NEXT DAY. This was almost three hours after I had sent her an angry email -- an email which she said she hadn't yet read. How can a person run a company this way?? In each of her attempts to apologize, she still tried to put the blame on the hotel. I demanded that she make this right and she has agreed to give us a full refund. However, this traumatic experience will live on in my memory, forever tied up with the memory of my last goodbye to my mother. For that, I will never forgive Ixora. read more

Lisa and the Ixora team provided a truly breathtaking floral design for our November 2019 wedding at the Bel-Air Bay Club. Lisa was amazing to work with -- she instantly understood our modern vibe and came up with a design that was better than we could have imagined, and all within our budget.
