This is a review for a consultation with Lisa at Ixora for our wedding flowers at Skirball. I found Ixora/Lisa by looking for florists experienced at the famed venue. There are examples of their work on Style me Pretty and they came up a few other times looking at other weddings at Skirball. Just wanted to say how helpful and creative Lisa was. I shared my ideas and she was helpful in suggesting how to go about getting that look. I had a Pinterest board and saved examples of how others have decorated their wedding aisle, and she came up with useful quotes and ways to create that look for me! She definitely comes across as an experienced professional and knows what she's doing. I like that this is woman owned and based locally in Pasadena! read more

Ixora provided the flowers for my wedding and they did a fantastic job! I felt like Lisa really made an effort to understand the vision that my wife and I had and to help us out. She rolled with several changes that we wanted to make as our plans developed, and was super helpful in providing extra decor and working closely with the caterer to make sure that everything looked spectacular on our day. The displays that Ixora provided were simply stunning; one of my only regrets about the day is that we didn't get to spend more time admiring their beautiful work. Fortunately the bouquets that they made for the brides that were equally gorgeous. The prices were fair, communication was good; all in all Ixora did excellent work for us and I would recommend them to anyone. read more

How is the best florist in Los Angeles not on Yelp yet?!? I came here about a year ago and had the best experience ever. I went to buy flowers today because I was nearby, but I couldn't find this place on-line so I ended up going to an overpriced and underqualitied flower shop a couple of blocks away, then on my way back to the office, I walked past the windows of Ixora while carrying my recently purchased sub-par plant. I noted the name and vowed to write that review so I (and others) could find this place again! A year ago when I was in the store, I WALKED OUT WITH THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SINGLE ROSE ARRANGEMENT I HAVE EVER SEEN AND IT ONLY COST ME A COUPLE OF DOLLARS! I think there was a deal that roses were half price on Fridays or something like that. read more

Initially I was going to support Marc Maron and use his promo code "WTF" on ProFlowers.com, but then my urge to support a local business took control. I scoured Yelp! for a great florist downtown and I made several calls. Some of them still haven't called me back (it's been 24 hours). Ixora on the other hand, is attentive and you can get them on the phone easily. As a freelancer, my cell is my lifeblood and it's good to know there's a florist in town who feels similarly. The flowers were a big hit and they were delivered earlier than promised. I think I found my go-to place! As of 1/22/14 there is a $50 minimum for deliveries. They have variable rates on delivery, but to go nearby downtown was $10 + tax on the total (came to $66.88) read more

We've been using Ixora for the past several years, and they've been nothing but wonderful. Their customer service is friendly, excellent, and professional - I've always received a call back within half an hour of leaving a message, and they work with me to figure out my floral needs quickly and efficiently. Thank god we found Lisa and Ixora Floral Studio! We were connected through a referral, and when I went to her studio for a meeting I knew right away that I would hire her. Lisa was so easy to work with, and so friendly too. We had a really great talk and I was able to learn more about what I wanted through her detailed questionnaire and from some pictures she showed of plants and flowers. I went into the floral part of our wedding very open minded, hoping that the florist would be able to create something in line with our style, but unexpected. I cant say how blown away I am by what she did for us. I hadn't seen any of the flowers until the day of the wedding, and my first intro to her work was when I saw my bouquet. I almost cried at how gorgeous it was- she totally captured what my vision was and it was stunning. When I got to the venue and saw our table arrangements and the other large pieces she did, I felt like I was in a dream. Everything was so much more perfect and beautiful than I pictured. We collected our own bottles for the centerpieces and she was able to fill them and arrange them on the table so perfectly. We also gave her our own pots for floor plants at the site of the ceremony, which also came out incredible. One more important comment would be the price- she was able to stay in our budget and I truly feel like we got more than we paid for because of the quality of her work. Truly stunning! read more

If you want the best, most tasteful flowers.... Go to Ixora Floral Studio. They are slightly more expensive, but their flowers are perfect, elegant, tasteful and worth every penny. The flowers are not hot house grown - they are lush and fragrant and in dramatic colors. Years ago I used to work only with Jacob Maarse in Pasadena, but Ixora is far better. I'm a typical guy, I'm clueless about flowers. You could say lillies, daisies or hydrangea to me and the only flower I will visualize in my mind is a rose. This is exactly why Ixora is the best florist in downtown, not to mention, in my opinion all of Los Angeles. I needed an arrangement done for my wife's b-day (on short notice) and they just asked me about my budget and what my wife liked and didn't like. Given my knowledge of flowers, I just responded, "please make it colorful." They put a great arrangement together and didn't use a standard square vase, but instead a stylish thinner oblong vase with a good variety of flowers. I was impressed, but more importantly, my wife was very impressed. I came to find out my wife has used Ixora on on a number of other occasions and they are also her favorite florist. If you're in the know when it comes to flowers, I'm sure they could specifically meet your needs. If you're like me and don't know what you're doing, they'll make you look good. 5 Stars all the way, I will only be using Ixora for any of my flower needs in the future. read more

Ixora Florist is the best florist in LA! I order flowers for employees, friends and family members many times a month and always use Ixora! All of the employees are extremely helpful and easy to place orders with especially SERA. The flowers are fresh and beautiful and the designers are so talented at creating unique and stunning arrangements! I always tell them what the occasion is and maybe a word or two like "colorful" or "classy" and then let them go to town! We've never had an issue with a wrong or missed delivery - I usually call the day before but they can do day of as well. Even the card on the arrangements are larger and written beautifully in gold pen unlike most other places where you can barely read what the tiny card says. I have recommended Ixora to so many people that I have also been the recipient of their flowers a few times over the years so I know first hand how beautiful the arrangements are! Ixora made our wedding STUNNING. I was a type A bride OBSESSED with having the most lavish dramatic flowers. Lisa (the owner) lead me in the right direction and totally understood my vision. She brought it to life more beautifully than I could ever have imagined!!!!! They are kind, reliable, flexible and wonderful. 2 days before my wedding we had to move the entire ceremony from outside on the beach (i.e. a simpler floral for the ceremony) to inside ( i.e. a very dramatic flower-covered affair) and Lisa worked with us to change the entire flowers and chuppah and make it exactly what we wanted... but actually even better.. all within two days!!!! Our guests were all talking about how it was the most stunning and they were in disbelief that it had not originally been planned for outside, she made the inside look like it had taken months to plan!!!
