The staff in the memory care unit are all very friendly. Some of the standouts in friendliness and in taking an interest in my mom are Nick, Susie, Ariehanna, Marco (nurse) and Brittney (nurse). There was some frustration awhile back with my mom not getting her med orders from her doctor's office as Oakmont nurse fax was not working. This was eventually resolved when Ben intervened. Jhoana, director of nursing has also been very responsive. In dining in the Assisted Living dining room, the service could be improved in terms of servers checking back with the table to see how we are faring, and also asking if we would like drink refills. Isabella, a newer employee has been amazing though and goes above and beyond in these areas. She is definitely a stand out. Amy, the Memory Care Activities coordinator, has been great at trying to get my mom to come to activities. At times I have had a hard time connecting with activities department as I only have an email and it takes time to get a response back. I have wished there was another way to connect with them quickly other than email. Maria, the Director has been responsive and helpful when we have had concerns or provided feedback here and there. Edgar, Oakmont transporter, is very kind to my mom and responsive. Last but not least, the front desk ladies, Lexi and Maddy have been great! I love that they always greet me by name and are helpful with a multitude of things. I will mention one of the challenges of memory care is that there are different levels of impairment in the clients. My mom is higher functioning and I do wish there were more activities that she could join the assisted living residents in. This would require staff support and planning for her to go to some of those activities but I do think she would appreciate being with some higher functioning residents. She complains a lot about feeling lonely, as many of the other residents in memory care are not able to interact with her.

I used to genuinely love coming here, especially before the change in management, Maria RCC, and staff. I always enjoyed visiting her during brunch, and my favorite memory was Mother's Day brunch last year. The staff were amazing, welcoming, and friendly, and it truly felt like a warm, caring environment. Even now, when we visit in the mornings, the staff continue to be amazing -- attentive, kind, and genuinely caring toward the residents. Unfortunately, my most recent evening visit was heartbreaking and very disappointing. When I arrived, I walked in on staff being rough with my grandma while changing her brief. They were rude, did not acknowledge me, and didn't even say hello. Seeing my grandma treated that way was upsetting, uncomfortable, and deeply concerning. Later that evening, I took my grandma to the evening movie around 6:00 pm. No one was there, so I walked around to see if someone could turn the movie on for the residents. I saw and heard three staff members along with Maria RCC sitting in the RCC room eating and laughing. When I asked if someone could please turn on the movie, it took about 10 minutes for anyone to come out and do so. It was discouraging to see residents waiting while staff appeared unbothered. I am relieved that my grandma will be moving to a facility closer to my mom, but it truly breaks my heart to see how much this place has changed. There are clear issues with professionalism and resident care, particularly during the evening hours. I hope these concerns are taken seriously so no other family has to witness their loved one being treated this way.

Rose, the Executive Director, sits right up front and somehow always notices when we walk in--greeting me by name and truly knowing what's happening in the community. Shannon and Kaylee are always out and about chatting with residents, creating such a warm and connected environment. The special events they host bring families together and make the community feel vibrant and welcoming. They also went above and beyond helping my mom get ready for our son's wedding. They made sure she looked beautiful and felt special for such an important family moment, something we will never forget. The nursing staff under Neha are incredibly caring as well, always checking in on residents and helping those who aren't feeling their best get back out to participate in community activities and events. Their kindness and attentiveness make such a difference. Dan and Mark never hesitate to help, whether it's hanging a new photo or fixing my mom's bed whenever needed. Everyone knows the residents by name and treats them with kindness, patience, and genuine affection. On top of everything else, Bradford is extremely well maintained. Last year the entire exterior was updated, and this year they are installing new carpeting throughout the community. It's clear they continually reinvest back into the property and truly care about creating a beautiful environment for the residents and families. That level of personal attention and heart is rare, and my family is incredibly grateful for Ivy Park at Bradford.

I told them this was my goal. Once they got me there they put me in a diaper! After putting up with this for several days I threatened to require transfer to another care center. Then they promised to get a commode for me for my bedside. They kept promising and promising, and never did it for the 6+ weeks I was there! In addition, the first space I was assigned had a TV that would only turn off if you unplugged it. Also, their TV channels did not include KTLA, a major local channel. Hygiene was also an issue. The curtain between me and my neighbor had smear of snot or other bodily fluids on it. It took more than a week for them to change it. Later on I had a chest infection and I got some fluid on the new curtain. When I told the cleaning crew, all they did was rehang the same curtain with the side toward my neighbor (who was there for cancer treatment)! There was also a security issue. One male resident, who apparently had some form of dementia, kept wandering the halls and entering my space, claiming he was visiting a friend (no males were in my unit, and the other resident also did not want him in our unit). I told the staff and they cautioned him ("you don't want to go back to the hospital (mental?), do you?"), but he continued to poke his head into my unit. I observed them lying to residents. They took away my neighbor's wheelchair because they didn't want her wandering unaccompanied in the halls, but told her they didn't know what happened to it. They promised physical therapy four times a week but I never received more than 10 to 15 minutes two or three times a week, and when I asked for more they said staff were unavailable.
