Half of the staff there is rude and I just let it go, last time I did say something because I was annoyed. Thursday I was there with my daughter,my mom, sister and niece. My sister asked to use the restroom and they said they can use the restroom in an hour. Well they shopped, kept shopping and my mom asked to use the fitting rooms and they told her the fitting rooms were not available. My daughter asked to use the bathroom again along with my mom and they said the bathroom were out of service but they let another lady use the restroom. My daughter took a pic. Then my sister went to pay and the employee there said "can you hurry up, you are suppose to take the hangers off the clothes" in a very rude way. I paid for my stuff, drive home and my family told me everything that had happened. I was livid and will report to corporate. I know I would have gone off on the lady...it's the damn Filipina lady who is rude ass hell! Lady, i hope you read this and know you are a rude and very miserable human being! I've taken a few surf lessons at Travelers now, and while my first couple with other instructors…read morewere great, it's really been Alex O. who's gotten me hooked on this whole experience. On my third lesson there was a scheduling mix-up, I was supposed to meet with another new instructor, and instead of just rescheduling, Alex -- who also works at the shop -- offered to take me out himself rather than let it fall through. He had a good read on me: he sensed that if the lesson got pushed back, I might drop the idea of surfing becoming a real part of my life altogether. He didn't want me to give up on it, so he reworked the shop's schedule to make it work. That lesson completely changed my perspective. Alex has a real gift for seeing people and meeting them exactly where they are -- and I've seen it again and again, not just in that lesson but from spending more time at the shop watching him work with new surfers, surfers visiting from all over, and people who never thought surfing could be for them (I was one of them.) Since that day he accidentally became my instructor, I've had three more lessons with Alex. He's changed my whole attitude toward surfing, helped me buy my first wetsuit, gotten me involved in activities, and I'm hoping we'll collaborate on getting my first custom board. His style of teaching is simple, and it's exactly who he is around the shop -- tailored and personalized, simple and intentional, creative and impactful. Pacifica and this little stretch of coast can feel busy and crowded, but the community here is small, and there are a handful of core people who make it feel special -- for locals, Bay Area natives, and tourists alike. Alex is one of those people. I can't wait to keep growing my love for surfing, be part of the Travelers family, and watch Alex keep being a connector -- for Travelers, for Pacifica, and for surfers everywhere.

However, during both of my visits, I was greeted by very friendly young staff members who were very helpful in guiding me through the selling process and wait times. I was so happy to experience this because it's so awesome for Pacifica to have a Plato's Closet! I had relatively small bags of items to sell, so I did not need to wait very long at all. I browsed around the store and saw lots of cool things. Nice selection and interesting finds that change every day! I saw some times that looked almost new with great prices. Definitely recommend this place! One thing to note is that they close their selling booth one hour before store closing, so make sure to get in earlier if you have stuff to sell!

I was ecstatic that a Plato's was near my stay, but the girl didn't buy anything because Pacifica is already experiencing colder weather, & my clothes consisted of high-end dresses, shorts, & shirts, all unworn or lightly worn. Why I'm leaving this review is that the quality of the stuff here is verrrrrry low. I normally love Plato's because reasonable prices + clothes that don't have stains on them. Oh my goodness, everything I picked up here had such an obvious stain on it, not something I think you could even get out with cleaning product. I suppose the bright side of this review is that if you're selling something in season... you may not have to spend time washing it if it's used. The stuff I found here was ROUGHED up. Shoes had obvious stains. Found an adorable pink Juicy handbag I almost bought, but it was sticky inside (?). Every shirt or pair of shoes I'd notice because it was a pastel colour or a brand I liked (like vans) was sooooo stained :/ In that case, the prices should be heavily reduced. Why am I seeing the same prices ($14 for sweats, $9 for a shirt, $12 for a bag) that I see in LA but this time the item is heavily stained? This store (not the chain overall) is reserved only for the dedicated thrifter, who has hours to kill... Unless you're selling! In which case you may not have to bother washing your garments at all. Absolute gem of a thrift shop!…read more Well curated and the volunteers went out of their way to help me navigate the giant hula hoops I discovered. The prices are beyond great if you love vintage clothing and know fabrics. I may have found my favorite dress of all time here for a whopping $14 (because it's a two piece set of decorative vintage fabric) it was in the premium section and the volunteers were adorable making sure I knew why it was priced this way. (I couldn't afford a yard of this fabric retail I'm giddy about a vintage two piece set that I can customize). To then discover that the proceeds go to support women's scholarships was the ultimate bonus! My grand total for everything was $54 and I happily gave my change to the donation bucket by the register. If you are in the area and love unique vintage items this is a must explore. I had to resist the urge to buy several of the tea cup collections. I'm a sucker for vintage tea sets and they have several that are stunning! Great shop, fantastic volunteers who are donating their time to support a wonderful cause.
