The last couple of weeks were extremely hard with him not being capable of doing anything; literally. WOW - the care and compassion and kindness shown to my Dad during this time is truly difficult to express. Every minute I knew he was getting all he needed and all done gently and with kindness. The full staff was also very compassionate to me, his daughter, and my mom/his wife. e day my Dad passed I believe every staff member stopped by his room to say goodbye to him, touch him, hug me and my husband, say kind words about him, etc. It could not have been sweeter! I'm skeptical of these glowing reviews, so I'm writing my own…read more I took my dad to a brunch and learn there. It was impressive. They have a new culinary director which sounds luxurious. The food was delish. Dad didn't love the coffee but he can make his own. :) The staff has been there a long time and the ownership is also long-term which I find stable. There are a lot of pluses, but the icing on the cake was that each of three different residents talked to us in passing, and they were very cheerful and appeared happy. My dad is excited to move in soon, and it's a relief to the rest of the family. We're looking forward to my dad experiencing the Men's club, weekly happy hour, and nightly movies. I'll update my review in about three months.

My father lived in this facility for nine months, during which he fell 13 times, despite my clear…read moreand early disclosure that he had Parkinson's dementia. Rather than revising his care or offering support, the facility ultimately evicted him after his final fall, labeling him a "fall risk"--a fact they had known since day one. They violated legal eviction procedures by failing to give a 30-day notice, and informed me while I was out of the country, leaving my father in the hospital and me scrambling to find a new place for him. The lack of empathy during a vulnerable time was inexcusable. To make matters worse, the facility said the only way they would allow him back was if I paid for a private 24/7 nurse--an expense they knew was unrealistic. This was clearly a tactic to push him out while appearing cooperative on paper. Not sure if Aireen T. is still the director but she is not responsive, professional, caring, or compassionate at all. I had to involve Ombudsman to get responses from her on everything. There are also serious safety and staffing concerns. During a power outage in the heat of summer 2024, the facility had no backup generator. We overheard firefighters asking staff where the generator was, and staff admitted there wasn't one. During this incident a female resident was stuck in the elevator for literally hours on a hot summer day!! It was horrifying. Others, like the woman across from my father's room, were left in the dark yelling "hello, is anybody there?" My family and I went to her to calm her down ourselves as no staff member checked on her or other residents to reassure them during this electricity outage. They are clearly understaffed and many of the caregivers are not certified CNAs, and it shows. Staff routinely defer to residents' refusals for essential care, and hygiene, rather than providing informed, proactive support for those with cognitive conditions. Many times I showed up and I could smell he hadn't showered. When I asked staff why they would say that he refused so they didn't do it. Medication for my father was not consistently dosed at a consistent time which was also a huge problem. My father also experienced racism from two other residents, and when I raised this with the Director Aireen, they brushed it off--blaming the behavior on health issues such as UTI and did nothing to protect or acknowledge the harm done to my father. Aireen and executive management did nothing to soothe our concerns. This facility is not safe, not equipped, and not compassionate. I would not trust them with any loved one under any circumstances.

It is all about ensuring the best quality of life possible for their residents. There is constantly fun happy activities happening. When you first visit you get the feeling of this quaint little community and then you enter and are amazed at how much space the residents have to roam around. I love the outdoor area! It is so spacious and sprawling with wonderful things to do such as the raised planter boxes. Oh and did I mention the chef uses the freshest produce that comes from their very own farm/ranch?! Probably the most impressive thing about Willow Creek is the staff. They truly care about their residents. The longevity of the staff is far greater than many other communities which provides the much needed stability that Memory care residents need to thrive. The cherry on top of all the goodness of Willow Creek is that the cost is among the most affordable in the Bay Area. If you are looking into Memory Care communities for a loved one, I definitely suggest you consider Willow Creek.

My aunt and uncle are residents there and are treated like family by the staff, who know my aunt and uncle's quirks, moods, preferences, needs-- including the setting up of my aunt/uncle's weekly Zoom bible study. Staff gracefully indulge my aunt, who has a rather demanding personality at times. (I wish I were as patient as they are with her!) Unlike many other nursing homes, Oak Creek staff seemed to love their work, which they perform as a true vocation. The building sits under a canopy of trees, nestled against a forested hillside. Residents have access to a large patio area with a garden, an aviary with cooing mourning doves, and chickens, with many seating areas. The entranceway is always decorated very festively according to season, giving it a cheerful ambiance. Art, music, movies, meditation, crafts, exercise, and many other activities fill the day. My only complaint is that I would love to live there myself and be pampered as beautifully as my aunt and uncle are!

As an outsider, I've witnessed how attentive and discreet the staff are when caring for the residents, and it's restored my faith in people. As a facility, it tries its best to give the residents a normal life filled with activities and events. The activity coordinator, Ms Julie Bello, does a beautiful job of coordinating events for the facility, making sure that everyone is entertained and occupied. From interacting with the staff, I also understand that many of them had parents who suffered from Alzheimer's, so this work has special meaning to them. My mother has advanced stage Alzheimer's, and I understand how important it is to be patient and understanding with Alzheimer's patients. In my opinion, Carefield is a home with a heart because of its people. They're all kind, amazing folks trying to do what's right for the residents. I hope this place remains the same when I need a place to go myself! Today, May 9th, they celebrated Mother's Day a day early with an MD brunch--a formal event with champagne flutes, live music, and a buffet style lunch for residents and their families. It made the residents feel special even if they didn't have any visitors.

The Carefield staff was incredibly kind and attentive to him and did a great job communicating with me and the hospice team. He required round the clock care including incontinence, needing to be moved in and out of a wheelchair, and assistance eating. It was a lot. They have daily activities for residents as well as parties on major holidays such as Father's Day where they decorate the facility. One thing that is unique about Carefield Pleasanton is they only have memory care, no assisted living. At most facilities the assisted living area is nicer and roomier, and memory care is tucked in a back corner. Since Carefield Pleasanton is only memory care there is much more room for memory care patients to walk around, including an outdoor courtyard. I'm in the position of having both of my parents requiring memory care. I can honestly say if I end up in the same position I would want to have an experience like he had at Carefield.

It creates a safe and welcoming environment for both patients and staff. It is a facility where professionalism, teamwork, and compassion are clearly prioritized. It is a place where I would be honored in pursuing employment after completing my clinicals. During my clinical experience, I felt encouraged to learn and was consistently supported by staff who were willing to share their knowledge while maintaining a strong focus on proper patient centered care. Having a grandfather with Parkinson's disease deepened my understanding of the importance of patience, dignity, and compassionate care; values that Creekview consistently demonstrates. I am truly appreciative of the professionalism and empathy shown by the entire team, and I would feel very confident entrusting my own family's care to this facility. Overall, Creekview reflects excellence in both care and workplace culture.

If you are looking for a place for an Alzheimer's, patient to have a long-term care, this is…read moreprobably a very good solution. If you're looking for short-term skilled nursing, I'm not so sure. I brought my mom in here to recover from major surgery. They screwed up the medications for the first 2 to 3 days until I came in and sorted it out myself. And if you're doing this, just be aware, that if the hospital transfers a patient, it can take them a minimum of 12 hours to get the medication to their facility, but no one will tell you this. So as a result, my mother who is suffering from extreme pain due to major surgery, had to wait almost 12 hours for medication because once I realized what was going on, I had two traipse to her house and procure some myself. And even once I thought we sorted it out, they still kept forgetting to give her some of the meds she was supposed to have for her eyes. It was eminently frustrating. They treat everyone like a dementia patient whether they have dementia or not. This is a material problem for people who do not have dementia. If someone is trying to recover from something, it means they will not get the attention, exercise, etc. that they need to actually recover. They'll be told to stay in bed and not move. Not helpful. They are shortstaffed on skilled nurses for the facility. There's basically one per shift and that is the only person who is allowed to do much of anything other than very basic stuff. Another material problem in my point of view The facility itself is very nice, clean, with a variety of separate spaces that are all well maintained. The food was high-quality. There are enough people around that you can feel like at least someone is always on duty and attending to the needs of the residence. Everyone who works there is delightful. To be fair, they listen to my concerns and tried to rectify and respond in a timely manner. If this is considered one of the best of the best, I'm alarmed for what that means for my own old age. It was OK. Like I said, if you're using it for long-term Alzheimer's support it's probably fine.

Cedar Creek is defined by its exceptional culture, which is anchored in profound kindness, compassion, and patience, not to mention top tier expertise and professionalism. They know my kids' names, they know all about my family, my mom's history, what she was like before she was ill. Mom was well cared for, treated with dignity and respect, and encouraged to participate and socialize with the other residents. It is a horrible chapter, to lose your independence and be under the care of others. But the team at Quail Gardens, led by example from Alicia and Jenn, made the transition as smooth as possible. The entire team is caring and really do everything they can to engage with and get to know the personalities of each resident. What I appreciated most is how welcome my siblings and I were. We were encouraged to visit often and stay as long as we like. We were as welcomed as we could be to the point where the staff became an extension of our family keeping us posted on how Mom was doing on the few days we were not able to get by for a visit.
