Let's just start by saying that I've spent big money on a lot of stupid things, but microblading has got to be one of the BEST decisions I've made. Waking up to brows already done and being able to confidently walk around without makeup has made a worlds difference. Now specifically my experience with Ivy Phan: Pre-visit: I'm more of a spontaneous person so I immediately looked on yelp a day prior to my actual visit and decided I wanted to find a good person to do my brows but everyone was crazy expensive or booked until FOREVER. After finding Ivy's page with her REASONABLE PRICING, I texted her and got an IMMEDIATE response that she would be able to book me within the week! I was able to make an appointment with her only two days later and that was super convenient. She was super nice over the phone and told me just to find a picture of brows I wanted and that she would help specify the shape to my face! Visit: Location-wise, it's a bit hard to find since I didn't know she was actually in the nail salon called something different. But once I went it I showed her the picture and she began drawing and measuring away! She made sure to show me my brows from every angle and even used a measuring app to make sure they were symmetrical! The amount of detail she put in was really reassuring since her low price did scare me into thinking quality wouldn't keep up. But this was definitely NOT THE CASE! After satisfaction, she numbs your brows and will get into the microblading process. After visit: Ivy, before you leave, sends you a text message of everything you need to know/ how you'll feel/ post eyebrow operation and this was super helpful! I tend to ask questions to people but will soon forget the answers so the text really helped. She understood that there are fears when your eyebrows first come out really dark and then fade as they try to heal and rest assured that they were normal feelings and that the eyebrows will heal to your liking and will become perfected after correction! Overall I would recommend and have recommended her to my friends! She's a great person who seemed to do her best to give me the best brows ever . I just got my brows done by Ivy and I absolutely love love love them!! She was sweet and took her time out to shape my brows until I like the way they looked. It was my first time for micro blading and let me tell you, pain was very mild to nothing. My brows were done by another artist over 3 years ago, so Ivy also have to do color correction ok them. You can see the before and after pictures, immediately after there was little to no redness, not swollen up. Ivy did inform me the color will be 30% lighter and explained to me in details how to take care of my micro blading/soft powder brows!! I definitely recommend Ivy to all of my friends. Oh boy where do I start. I rarely give 1 star reviews and when I do, there's good reason. BEWARE of IVY ENVY PERMANENT MAKEUP. She is dishonest, greedy, and cares nothing about customer satisfaction. I've had microblading done before and needed to have it redone since it was starting to fade. So I looked around Yelp and contacted a few salons to get some pricing. Ivy was very quick to respond and very persistent in getting me to book an appointment. She said she was offering a special for Microblading and powder technique for $350. After looking at some of her work, I decided to book an appointment with her for April 16. A few days before my appointment, I text her to confirm. She responds and says she's closed on April 16 since it's Easter. Thanks for NOT letting me know. I would of shown up to my appointment and waited outside for nothing. I rebook with her on April 19. at 1:00. I show up to the appointment at 1:00 and end up waiting for close to an hour before she can see me. When she finally sees me, the whole process takes around 2 hours. I've had this done before so I know the drill about after care procedures and maintenance. After the procedure is done, she says a four week follow up would be needed for touch up. I try to pay with credit card and she says she accepts cash only. The reason being because she doesn't want to split the money with the salon owner (and I'm also assuming for tax evasion purposes). Who carries around that much cash and why did she never once tell me this up front? So, I have to run to the ATM and because she doesn't trust me, she has her mom get in the car and come with me to get the cash. Like WOW. I try to schedule a touch up appointment. After multiple ignored and delayed responses to my text, she finally is able to schedule me for June. 2. It's amazing how slow her response becomes after she's already been paid. When I arrive, she's able to see me right away as the place is empty. I'm pleasantly surprised. She does the touchup on me which takes about an hour. Afterwards, I get up and was about to leave when she asks me how I will be paying. PAYING FOR WHAT?? She says her touchups are $50. WHAT?! Who charges for a touchup that is part of a 2 part process for microblading?? Unbelievable. This was the final straw and I blew my top and I'm not normally a confrontational person. I've had microblading done before and it's well known that microblading is a two step process: 1. The actual microblading procedure 2. The touch up which fills in missing hairs or spotty areas. Look around and google it. The touchup should be included the process. Even regular tattoo artists offer touchups as a part of the price. IVY doesn't tell you up front that the price she's charging only includes the first step. In fact, all of our communication lead me to believe that it was included. If it's not, Ivy, you should be clear with the customer up front and not surprise them with the charge AFTER it's been done. If I would of known your price did not include touchup, I would of booked elsewhere where there's plenty of places that offer touchup in the price! It's sad to see how she runs her business, as integrity and honesty is not a part of her policy. As a result, she will begin to see more 1 star ratings, and believe me those 1 star ratings will hurt her business in the long run as there are plenty of other businesses that do the same thing. I will never come back there and will never recommend anyone to Ivy. If you are planning on booking with Ivy, I warn you to get everything in writing upfront before she surprises you with hidden fees. read more

First time here and had a great experience. I had my eyebrows and eyeliner done in Koreatown before but it has faded after 3 years. Came in for the consult. She listened to what I wanted, measured and drew out the shape to make it a little fuller. She was very patient and detailed to draw it the way it would frame my face and lift my eyes. Procedure went well. I felt a little discomfort at first but the topical numbing cream kicked in shortly after. I had a great overall experience. I have really thin eye brows and at first I was skeptical getting my eye brows done. I was afraid I was going to come out with sharpie eye brows, but this place does wonders!! I LOVE my new eyebrows! I don't know how this place has more than one star. I did my eyebrows almost two years ago and she did an awful job on my eyebrows. They are soo uneven I told her right in the beginning I didn't want a dark color and she literally did black! I told her at the end they were not even one thicker than the other and she didn't care she was like in a hurry because another client was waiting. Rude, argumentative, can't keep her books straight, poor hygiene. She charged me 200$ for eyeliner with retouch. I needed the retouch because the eyeliner is totally crooked. I came to my retouch appt and she had another client. Insisting the whole time that I did it have an appt. She also screwed up another friends appt that same day. I came a second day to get my crooked eyeliner fixed and she argued with me until I left that I will have to pay an additional 40$. Her salon is dirty, she uses the same eyeliner pencil on everyone before tattooing them, doesn't wash her hands after eating.. Then touches your face, your eyes! She is rude.. To me, Ivy is just a careless and thoughtless person. It was the second time to get eyebrow microblading done at Ivy. First, she asked me to deposit but I don't have Venmo app to make it because I'm from different country and my phone doesn't download the app! same thing happened last time and she said "just be sure for my appointment", but later on she texted me that "come over and make it deposit" otherwise, she was not going to make an appointment for me. this was the first disappointment. she changes what she said to me. Secondly, she asked me to come 1 hour earlier than my original appointment time just before a day at night, plus when I asked her how long it will take to be done. she responded, asking me come at 10am without any apologies suddenly. However, when I went at 10am, she was taking care of another customer and made me wait for 20mins by doing nothing!! even later how long I waited? waiting time was longer that she worked for me. she told me it'd take around for 1 and a half hrs but in fact it took 2 and a half hrs!! besides, she was in hurry while doing on my eyebrows because she has another customer waiting for her. If you cannot get me right away or it would take more time than you told me, don't call me early time!! my bf was also waiting for me to be done inside but she was like "Oh, I didn't know that he was waiting for you" whatever! just manage your business better! now I regret that I gave her some tips but it didn't worth it! First off, please disregard my beauty mark, it's been a bad week and I can't seem to keep my face clear! Unless if you have useful tips, don't say anything mean. Anyway, about Ivy's work, I totally recommend! Let me sort of explain where I was coming from and why the worries. I've gone to one person for a long time worrying that no other person could do a good shape even though the ink was poor quality and would fade within a few months. I was hesitant that Ivy was working out of nail shop but it made me feel better she had a separate room for permanent makeup only. Ivy was very patient and really just wants to do a good job for her clients. I did not feel rushed when she was trying to draw and perfect the shape for me. She really took her time and let me stare down the shape until I am happy with them. She assured me that the ink she uses is good quality and would not leave the bluish/pinkish shadows, which I appreciate. She basically drew the shape for me to cover my old tats and perfect what I was going for. Her prices are great too! FYI I had microblading/shading combo. I wish I was able to do microblading completely but I had old tats to cover. The picture below is recently taken and shows what my brows look like now that it's been a little over a month to month and a half after the touch up since 4/21/17. Ivy did a good job on the shape of my brows. That's the only reason I'm giving 3 stars. Be careful because she will have you pay for a follow up touch up and if you don't use it within a month she won't do the service- just keep your money. She didn't inform me of this and I lost out $50 for the touch up and tipped her very well in advance, so I guess that's my loss. I also sent a friend to her who used a groupon and she pressured her to try to cancel it and pay her directly- which didn't happen and she credited her a different service (instead of a refund) after having her pay her again... I had to kinda think about it to make sure that i really want it. I finally decided that i will get them done. I called her and she was able to take me in.
