I have severe dental anxiety and am autistic. I was originally beyond impressed by his patience, kindness, calming demeanor. But I just got my extraction done today and it was literally easier than a regular dentist cleaning. I was on oral sedation + laughing gas which really helped but it was him who helped calm me the most. He was so gentle, talked me through everything, gave me choices. The tooth was out in under a minute... I was SHOCKED. I also have a lot of anxiety about numbing, so we didn't use a numbing gel before the injection which I was really nervous about. But numbing shots felt like nothing more than a pinch (whereas they usually hurt more even with numbing gel). His skill is WILD. I wish he could all my oral care. It's now about 9 hours post extraction and with just some ibrprofen and tylenol I feel zero pain. He also spent 30 minutes on the phone with me days before my surgery when I was spiraling. Truly incredible. If you're an anxious person, he's the best person for the job.

I clearly explained what I needed over the phone and was told they could see me and pull the tooth today. Based on that information, I left work early and came straight to the office. After paying an $80 copay and being evaluated, I was told they would NOT extract the tooth that I came in for unless I agreed to additional dental work. Instead, I was presented with a treatment plan totaling over $3,500, with my estimated portion being almost $2,850. I understand that a dentist may recommend additional treatment based on their professional opinion. My issue is that I specifically asked BEFORE coming whether they could extract the painful tooth today. Had I been told upfront that they would not perform the single extraction I was requesting, I would have stayed at work and found another provider. I left the office having lost time from work, $80 out of pocket, and STILL in the same severe pain I came in with. This was an incredibly frustrating experience, especially when I made my needs very clear before scheduling. I would strongly recommend that anyone seeking an emergency extraction confirm exactly what this office is willing to perform before taking time off work or paying for a consultation.

Dr Gurries was apologetic of the delay because he was alone (partner was out) and patients emergencies. The staff were nice and professional. Dr Gurries made me felt comfortable. I was nervous because of the wisdom tooth extraction at my age now. It was easy peasy. I am just not a fan of needles. He told me that he will call me at night to check on me. He kept his promise. My husband heard him on the phone and he was impressed the doctor was following up my condition. Dr Gurries was happy that I was fine. I took the pain med but I was fine after a day of pain.
