Endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures is how that happens... "But why?," I thought, "I'm not anemic anymore!" Yikes! The instructions how to prepare for this appointment did not sound fun. I arrived at Endoscopy Center of Marin the morning after drinking that purge stuff ready to get this done and out ASAP. From the moment I was greeted at the reception area, to when I woke up in recovery, the entire experience was so comfortable. Every possible question was answered before I even asked. The staff was gracious, intelligent and kind. It was obvious to me there was mutual respect among them and they liked what they were doing. If it wasn't for the preparation a colonoscopy requires beforehand this would have been a (believe it or not) thoroughly pleasent experience!

She is the most educated and cutting edge thinker and practioner I've worked with. I've worked with over six top holistic/functional medicine health care providers over the past 12 years. Dr. McDougall is the best hands down. She was having me allergy test, do full hormone and blood panels, and test for mytotoxins long before that became mainstream. Now, with her leadership Jyzen is using cutting edge tech to heal long term conditions that otherwise just need to be managed. For example, I meditated for 20 years and could not get my nervous system to go into rest and digest/turn on my parasympathetic nervous system. Through the Nuerofit biofeedback training (10 session), it is finally going into rest and digest. Because of this, the mold and other mytotoxins that were hiding behind the activated nervous system can also finally be detoxed and cleared out. There are few other doctors in the US who understand how all of the systems of the body (mind and spirit) work together, and how they are impacted by radiation/EMFs, pollution, and chronic stress that humans experience now. Dr. McDougall is one of the best. Also, the staff at Jyzen are courteous, friendly, and responsive. Jyzen has a patient portal through which you can message your provider questions and requests for prescription refills. The office is lovely with scenic views of the bay. I highly recommend Jyzen.

Rating: | Clarus Health SF - SGB Procedure, July 2025…read more I had the absolute pleasure of being treated by Dr. Kaveh at Clarus Health SF for a bi-lateral SGB (Stellate Ganglion Block) in July. From the moment I connected with their team, I felt respected, heard, and truly cared for. As someone who's dealt with debilitating daily migraines for years and panic disorder, I've tried almost everything -- but nothing helped long-term. Dr. Kaveh went above and beyond, spending over an hour with me during our consult and treating me with empathy I've rarely encountered in healthcare. His nurse Kelly and the entire staff were equally amazing. Both procedures (Tuesday and Friday) were done with precision and compassion. The details blew me away -- they called me "Max" on the room board (not "Maxwell"), gave me soft blankets, and welcomed my wife and kids warmly. Best IV placement I've ever had, and I walked out within 45 minutes feeling better than I had in years. He even followed up after each visit personally and helped identify lab issues unrelated to the SGB that I'm now addressing. That level of care is rare. Huge shoutout to Karma and JuJu, the sweetest dogs, who added even more comfort and love to the experience. If you're struggling and looking for answers, Clarus Health is the place to go. You won't regret it.

I started with extreme brain fog and headaches that resulted from long Covid but felt exactly like I did when I had my last major concussion a few years ago from a freak accident where it body flung out of a car. I learned about HBOT from and book about concussions so I found holistic hyperbarics which wasn't the closest HBOT facility to me but I like that when I called, they were a lot nicer on the phone then the place that was closer to me. All the staff that I have met there, like Derek, Shelby, Sam, Pedro, Keyshawn and Jordan have been very nice and made me feel very safe. I like that the spa feels clean enough on the inside of the chambers and I don't have to worry because all of the staff are EMTs so they can take care of you if they need to and everybody is well educated about the process which I love. I really like the fact that there are windows that help with the claustrophobia, and you could peek outside of the windows if you feel scared. Also, the EMTs keep checking on you to make sure that you feel safe and aren't freaking down. They all do such a great job that they are what makes this place great. After 60 sessions, my headaches have lessened but they are still present. I read other reviews where people had bruises that healed faster, but I had bruises that I would notice on day one during the week, and the bruises would fade but still took a week to fade as they normally would do without 5 HBOT sessions in between. Also, some lucky people had old scars fade. I had zero old scars fade because I took before and after photos to compare for myself and the after looks like the before. Don't forget having a healthy diet while going through this therapy. I gave up caffeine, alcohol and unhealthy foods for months. I also incorporated a few juice cleanses throughout my healing journey. I'm glad that I don't have the headaches that I initially came in with, but people with my condition also said with normal time they fade. One day, I hobbled in with Achilles' tendinitis from not stretching enough am just running everyday. Hoping that HBOT would help alleviate the new pain because I read a medical journal article about it helping. I had daily sessions that week, and my tendinitis did not go away so I had to go to my minor injury doctor to get a walking boot and stretches. I think it was because I wasn't driving deep enough and my body just needs more pressure. I called Christine and left a voicemail about not having enough pressure. She called me back the next day but I missed her call and she left a voicemail saying that they don't do that. Still thinking that I wasn't diving deep enough, I was at 2.0 ATA by the time that I left, and that was the pressure when I started to actually feel that it was working. The only reason why I was at 2.0 ATA was because I kept asking the technicians to give me a deeper dive . My regular physician told me that she didn't know enough about HBOT to recommend to me. Holistic Hyperbarics has an on-site physician who just was never there whenever I was so they never saw me but they wrote me a prescription to use the HBOT chambers. I'm kind of a clean freak, so when you take off your shoes to step into the chamber, you step onto a floor mat with your socks, but that same floor mat is stepped on by lots of shoes. You can tell because your socks would get dirty from the contact. Insurance didn't pay for this so my experience is all out of pocket. It wasn't the miracle that I was hoping for but at least I tried a different methodology on my healing journey.

Jiva Health really should NOT have made me do the PSG only because they just wasted my money. When I did the PSG, I was awoken because the tech decided to use the restroom in the main room with the door open so I could clearly hear them doing their business and washing their hands. They DO NOT even give clear instructions on how to enter and exit the building. Since it is past business hours for overnight sleep study, you have to use a specific elevator to get up. They never even told me that which is very annoying. When leaving at 6AM, the building was still locked on the 1st and 2nd floors (probably since it was outside of business hours) and I had to scramble to get out. They NEVER told me how to enter or exit the building or even warned me about doors being locked due to it being locked outside business hours.

One of the worst healthcare experiences I've ever had - I can't recommend enough that you go ELSEWHERE for your sleep study/care if you can! For context, I was a sleep medicine patient at San Francisco Sleep Diagnostics in 2022. They were a small clinic, and the receptionist/scheduler was incredibly kind and competent. When I had to get a repeat study two years later, I immediately remembered her name and decided I'd work with them again. The problem started the first time I called the clinic. I was super confused because I was routed to "Jiva Health," and the rep I spoke to had no idea about the clinic I went to. It took several reps over separate phone calls (always a voicemail then a return call - over a dozen calls with them, only one was answered directly by a live person) to figure out that Jiva acquired the clinic I went to. I'm now being funneled through the new patient channel, even though I'd been a patient with them before. I had to chase down a referral from my very busy existing provider, only to be told it needed to be more specific, and I ended up still being seen by one of their doctors. What was supposed to take a week, ten days tops, took over a month. Every call I had, I spoke to a different rep who had no idea about my history or each other, and they just fit me into a script. The clincher came with the last phone call after I finally jumped through the hoops to be eligible for the sleep study. A rep called me only to put me on hold while he got a scheduler on the other line (it was more important that they optimized their schedulers' time rather than mine, and why they had layers of reps/schedulers is beyond me). When I was transferred, the scheduler had no idea why she was speaking to me. I had to restate my request for the hundredth time. As she was talking me through yet another script, she said I had to pick up my equipment in a location that was two hours away because the clinic in my city (where I originally went) was over-scheduled. That was the first time anyone told me this was a possibility. She only offered to send the equipment to me by mail when I pointed out how unreasonable this situation was. She never offered an apology, worked with me proactively, or even expressed concern that this was so inconvenient. The whole experience, from start to finish, was impersonal, time-consuming, and frustrating. To be clear, I don't blame any of the reps and schedulers for my experience. They need the proper training and information to offer something different. This felt like an extreme example of a healthcare system that doesn't invest the time to care for their patients as customers or humans. The one upside is that the doctor I met with was helpful enough. He seemed to understand the absurd situation and just did what he needed to do to get me passed along in the system.
