It's taken some time for me to get around to writing this. I hope the day never comes when you need end-of-life care for your dog. I hope that you are reading reviews of IVS Mobile Vets for any reason other than why I sought their services. But if that time has come, when your beloved pet can no longer continue pain-free and without complications, you are told you have options. Someone told me to "drop him off at a shelter" and "start the grieving process". Others said to take him to a vet and have him euthanized at the clinic. Cost being a factor, I was mortified at the prospect of having to consider either of the above options. Abandoning a family member to die alone and wonder why? Who can do that? I came very close to having to consider that option; that is until I found IVS Mobile Vets. Encouraged by glowing reviews, I called to inquire about end-of-life care services and pricing. Dr. Moore answered my call, and even before we could get to details, she solemnly and compassionately listened to me go on and on about my little Donnie, and validated my immense grief over what was to come. Moreover, despite prices for everything everywhere being at an all-time high, Dr. Moore quoted me at-home euthanasia and private cremation for almost $200 LESS than the next lowest quote that I obtained... and I had called over a dozen vets and organizations. Donnie went to sleep on February 15, at about 1pm. In the comfort and safety of his own home, while lying in the bed that we shared for over 13 years, he drifted peacefully, and I held him until his frail little body started to cool, I don't know if it was a 1/2 hour or 1/2 a day, but Dr. Moore left us alone and gave me the time I needed for closure. Dr. Moore was gentle, patient, and truly compassionate. Despite it being the most heartbreaking day of my life, the occasion was peaceful and life-affirming, and I will mourn and cherish that memory for the rest of whatever's left of my own life. Every corner of my home is a mine field of Donnie memories, and I can't envision a day when I could come home and not long to see his little face in the upstairs window, waiting for me to open the door. But, I am forever comforted to know that I did right by my little guy, loving and caressing him to the very end. Donnie's ashes were delivered to me in person about a week later, with a heartfelt card, dignified packaging, and supplemental literature on grieving. During a tough time finding timely care for my large elder pup, I was super fortunate to find Dr. Moore, who was incredibly kind, patient and communicative. We had gone through the at home euthanasia process before but that never makes it any easier. Dr. Moore gave us realistic but gentle and careful guidance during my pup's last days. She was very accommodating and extremely respectful and culturally understanding of all our household attending the process and mourning. I found her here on yelp when looking for a 2nd opinion on an x-ray for my senior dog and discussed next steps. After meeting with Dr. Moore, we confirmed that it was indeed time to help our girl cross the rainbow bridge and the care that Dr. Moore took with our angel and us was ABOVE AND BEYOND any compassion I could have expected. She helped us in making the most difficult decision we had to with our girl and we can't recommend her enough to anyone looking for a vet (mobile or otherwise). I really really like Dr. Moore. Even more importantly - I respect her skill, knowledge and experience. It really makes a difference when the life of your pet is in her hands. Yesterday - I must have called 20 vets after I noticed that my cat had an issue with her paws. None could make an appointment immediately - but to my surprise - Dr. Moore actually had one last appointment that I could book at the end of the day (via the appointment scheduler on her website). The scheduling process was so easy, and her follow up communication leading up to the appointment was a comforting touch. Long story short, she did everything in her power NOT to stress my cat. All the while, Dr. Moore was calm, knowledgeable and cheerful (at the end of her workday) - and fixed my cat's issue beautifully. Once she had finished her wellness check of my cat, she spent extra time with me to made sure that I thoroughly understood possible outcomes and was prepared "in case" my cat's paw didn't improve. Dr. Moore is without a doubt the best vet we have ever encountered. She is incredibly smart, dedicated, compassionate, and patient. After seeing multiple other vet's, Dr. Moore was the only one able to properly diagnose our dog with a rare neurological condition. This unfortunately meant lots of speciality care, tailored medications, neurological specialists, and the occasional emergency. She was always available and understanding, and always made time for us and our dog when the hours were critical. And when it was unfortunately time to end his suffering, Dr. Moore was sympathetic and made the experience as comfortable as possible for everyone involved. Dr. Moore helped our gravely ill kitty cross the rainbow bridge. She was very empathetic, patient and caring during the entire process, and we are so grateful we were able to be there for our kitty until the very end. He was purring as he passed. Dr. Moore took her time explaining what was happening with my pet. My dog woke up with a bad cough. I had the choice to take my dog into a hospital, but I am glad I decided to reach out to Dr. Moore instead. I thought I would need to wait days to find an opening, but luckily, Dr. Moore made an opening for the same day. Dr. Moore knew exactly what medication to prescribe. My dog started to show improvement the next day. My pet does not like car rides and sometimes gets an upset stomach. It was great being able to stay in my own home where my pet felt comfort, and I did not have to put my pet through more stress. I needed a few weeks to write this review , the loss of a beloved pet is a devastating one. I needed the time. I found Dr. Moore on yelp. She accommodated our schedule so my husband could be with us and came over at 9pm. She must of already had a long day but came over, was patient, compassionate and did not rush our grieving . When my boy had passed, she told us not to rush and left the room to allow us to mourn as a family. Once we were ready, she took our beloved with her for cremation. A week later she personally returned his ashes to us . The entire process of trying to figure out 'if the time is right' is awful. Watching a pet in decline but needing to call when they are suffering and having a poor quality of life is painful and confusing. Dr. Moore made this diffucult time much better for us and we thank her for this. I am happy we made the choice to do this at home instead of a vet office and happy I found Dr.Moore. read more
