Hired Southern Roofing to do roof on both house and garage and new front and rear doors on house…read more The contractors they sent out to do the work were excellent (the only reason I did not give 0 stars) but if there is one thing I learned from having this work done is to get it in writing. First of all they dropped all the roofing supplies off about a week before they were to start, on our front lawn, the day we were leaving for vacation, you don't leave all that material on someone's front lawn and expect it to be there in a week, had to move it all into my garage. 2nd, we had asked for a new screen door for the back door and specifically asked for one as good or similar to what was on the front door which was close to top of the Anderson line, instead we got the cheapest screen door on the market, no kidding. Asked if when they did the roof could they attach the vent hose from bathroom as we had just installed a new fan, they said yes, they did not and charged us 400+ to come back and do it. Now the paint/finish is starting to peel from bottom of front door, on the outside, apparently the house was too humid for a couple of days and there is too much caulking on our windows??? Will never use them again, they do not give a rats ass about customer service.

We had Southern Alberta provide a roof quote for us after that horrible wind storm in Calgary. The…read morequoted fair and quickly. Our insurance company only paid for a portion and offered horrible service but the owner at Southern Alberta came through like a knight in shining armour. Our roof was done quickly with little mess, (they came back and took care of any concerns I had). The fellows doing our roof were polite and careful. Later on we needed some extra work done in and around our home, again we got professional and quality work, any issues that came up were handled right away. I would suggest this smaller general contracting company for any of your needs, and they also have great experience dealing with insurance companies!

They always showed up when they said they will and I could trust them in my home. They did a wonderful job with my renovation and all the clean up too. Definitely would recommend them to anyone considering renovation work!

This is the first bad review I have written but unfortunately, I feel that I had such poor service…read moreand workmanship from Luxury Drywall that I believe this review is warranted. I would also like to say that Jax, the owner, has a friendly demeanor but everything related to my project was a disaster. To make a long story short - the job was never completed - the owner gave up eventually not even completing the boarding when it should have been completed to a level 5 finish (ceiling) and painted throughout. - the owner and partner at the time rarely showed up and absences and late arrivals were met with excuses (and there were plenty)...5 weeks for a partially boarded basement. - the workmanship was poor (suspected by me and confirmed by other experts) and required the drywall to be torn out. - I watched as a drywall section that I purchased was taken to another client (bit my tongue while watching this on one occasion). All they had to do was ask if they could take a scrap piece. - No effort was taken to reduce the cost that I was paying for material. I had to renegotiate one particular order myself. - No effort to rationalize the retainer that was paid upfront as goodwill upon my termination of the project In conclusion, the lack of effort cost me financially and was stressful. They were completely unreasonable, unprofessional and unqualified. There was no "Luxury" in this company's work. Although Jax is a nice person I would never again hire this individual or this company.

Calgary Bathrooms Shoddy Workmanship - A Calgary Renovation Remodelling Nightmare…read more Buyer Beware! I had a terrible experience with this Calgary bathroom renovation company! Pete Palffy from www.Calgarybathrooms.ca or Calgary Fun and Function Renovations Calgary remodelling did some work at my house in 2009, including renovating bathrooms and installing new doors (interior and exterior) . Some of the workmanship was faulty and shoddy and I have been fighting him tooth and nail to get him to do anything to fix it but he refuses to even look at the work! If you are searching for a Calgary bathroom renovation company to do some work for you -keep looking! Beware of the battle if you hire Calgary Fun and Function Renovations to work in your home. Poor workmanship, shoddy workmanship, no customer service, no warranty is what you'll get. He was careless in protecting our homes existing surfaces getting paint on our hardwood floors, our daughter's new bedroom furniture, and built in shelving, and he put very large scratches in our banister. He said he would fix these things - never did. He is unable to manage large jobs. Lots of yes, yes, it will get done, but then you come home everyday and wonder what work was done that day. No accountability. Beware if you are paying for the materials - that's one of the tricks played at Calgary Fun and Function Bathroom Renovations - Pete Palffy says its to save you money, but really its because he will throw it back in your face later saying "the materials are defective" and not honour any warranty for you. But he won't tell you there is anything wrong with the materials before they are installed (because there isn't anything wrong with the materials - its just one of his tricks). Watch out for this Calgary bathroom renovation company - at Calgary Fun and Function bathroom renovations. His claims of warranties and customer service on his website www.calgarybathrooms.ca are completely false - 10 months after job completion I am still fighting with him to come back to my house to view his shoddy workmanship. He won't even come look at it! I strongly recommend others to not hire this Calgary Bathroom renovation remodelling company - my experience with Calgary Fun and Functions Renovations www.calgarybathrooms.ca was anything but fun or functional and I think others need to be aware of this. It is only after 10 months of trying to get Pete Palffy at Calgary Fun and Function Bathroom Renovations Remodelling to address my issues that I post this review. I have really tried to work this out with him including going to the Better Business Bureau, but so far, no success. What more can a person do?
