After our basement flooded during the heavy rains in Calgary in July 2025, we reached out to Groundworks for an assessment. They sent a "fieldwork advisor" to our home, who spent around 3 hours inspecting the basement. The outcome? A highly alarming and exaggerated diagnosis: all four walls of our home were supposedly buckling and at risk of catastrophic failure. His proposed solution included carbon fiber supports, interior French drains, crack filling, four sump pumps, and more -- totaling a staggering $85,000. He also conveniently offered two alternative "lower-end" estimates of $20,000 and $30,000. The entire experience felt like a sales pitch based on fear, not facts. The advisor used scare tactics to convince us our home could literally split in half -- despite having no legitimate engineering qualifications to make such serious structural claims. Concerned, we sought second and third opinions, including from a licensed engineer. Both concluded that the issues were far less severe and quoted around $8,000 for the actual necessary repairs. It became very clear that Groundworks tries to capitalize on vulnerable homeowners going through stressful situations. Their approach was unethical, predatory, and completely untrustworthy. I rate this service 5 STARS!! From the beginning to the end has been excellent. When I contacted them to get a quote they immediately mail me some panflets that were very helpful to understanding how mitigation of Radon is important, how it works and its health impacts. Then Cory came to do the quote, it was like having a friend over, he was super friendly and knowledgeable in a very non-condescending manner. He took a look and pointed out the best route to proceed. When the installers came Paul and Dylan, they had the same happy friendly attitude (this talks a lot about the company, when the company is good it reflects on their employees). The installation was very challenging, long story short the hole on the ground had to be in between pipes of in-floor heating but Paul and Dylan nailed it, they brought their thermal camera and high quality equipment to finalize the work. I pointed out a few concerns and Paul answered my questions showing his knowledge of building code. Few weeks have passed now and I was reached by them again to see how everything was working. I have placed a radon meter in my basement and so far the readings have gone lower,. I am very happy and now I feel safer at home. I requested annual service on our sump pump and dehumidifier at the end of January. I was able to get an appointment within a couple of weeks. Adrian attended the service call; he has been out to our home for both annual service and troubleshooting issues in the past. He is an excellent representative for the company. He is extremely thoughtful to the client, respectful of our space and my time, attentive to the details when passing on his assessment of our equipment, and also in answering any questions I had. He provided additional information when asked and took the time to explain the options available both in potential upgrades, the assessment of urgency, and the options for service subscription to save money. read more

Excellent professional service! We had the sump pump system installed a year ago and today we had our first annual service to ensure everything is still working as it should. We've had no problems with the system so far but decided to get a battery back up and WiFi monitoring added. The price is worth it to us for the added peace of mind. Olecksander Davydov and Daniel Siemens have a work ethic like I've never seen. They worked 2 long days never leaving the property in such a cramped area with small shovels. All done by hand.
