The Australian inspired drinks are unique, high quality ingredients, and worth the money. Staff is always so kind, friendly, and efficient. Love supporting this local business!

Kookaburra...what happened?…read more When we first moved to Saint John's a few years ago from California, I thought the speciality coffee was sure to disappoint. However, to my surprise, Kookaburra had phenomenal lattes. On top of that it's a great place to bring the kids and was our Saturday ritual we looked to do after taking my girls to the dance studio nearby. However, for the past 6 months the quality of the lattes has deteriorated. The lattes come out either too bitter, watery and/or EXTREMELY hot. (It is possible to burn the milk while you froth it.) I'm not sure what it is, maybe the machines aren't being cleaned frequently, the espresso isn't dialed in, there is a new staff that isn't trained properly and pays attention to details? This is also not a one time occasion. I have come back many times and hoped the quality would be different. I've given back my latte and pointed out its ways too hot , the milk hasn't frothed well, etc, but still leave disappointed. One thing that I can't wrap my mind around is that there is a coffee shop about 10 minutes (Mikes Pour) which sources their beans Kookaburra and were initially trained by Kookaburra. Same recipes , just different name AND better taste. This place can be the perfect shop for the neighborhood. And I love the brand and was inclined to buy some swag. I'll be back eventually , with the hope the quality has improved. This place has the potentially to be 5 stars..

I had used this small bakery before... for my daughter's graduation in December . I called way to…read morelate and other bakeries I know would have turned me away... but no she fit me into her schedule.... just like this time. I just found out it was someone's birthday 2 days ago so I called Mrs Amelia again. she was so busy but again fit me in. I told her flavour and colours.... make it pretty... the flavour and moistness of these cakes are amazing. I would not email or reach out on face book ( maybe I should not say that...). I only say this because CALL and they will do anything they can to help you. she used to be an RN so she can read peoples voices and somehow their need for that perfect cake people will talk about months after eating. it's not a fancy place but her cakes if needed ARE! I saw pics of her work and the talent her and her husband turn out in these cakes is amazing.... so if your looking for a cake for a few or a 100 at a reasonable price.... I would say put this bakery in your contacts. thank you again for the perfect cake! I wish I could show pictures.... Idk how on yelp. So go to their website to have a look.... One last thing, since she was an RN if you're looking for a baker that knows allergy/ dietary needs regarding a cake.... This is the bakery you want. thank you T

I love any and all cake. My husband does not even like sweets. When we began the wedding planning…read moreprocess, we expected the cake to be icing on top of the event (no pun intended). Thanks to Amelia, however, both the process of selecting the cake and the end product became a highlight of our wedding: 1) Amelia's set up with different flavored cupcakes to try with various icings and fillings was brilliant. It was a favorite part of the planning stage, and helped land on a combo that we could not have come up with on our own. 2) A lot of wedding cakes are beautiful, but I rarely see guests get up to admire them. Amelia's talent and versatility re: design was such, however, that our cake ended up being a focal point during dinner, and was shared by so many different guests on social media after. Amelia was so wonderful working with us from a previous concept to tailor it to our venue, and it looked amazing. 3) Critically, the cake TASTED as amazing as it looked. It's normally a win to get a slice of wedding cake that isn't dried out. Our guests expressed to us that they took second slices offered with coffee, and, as a cake aficionado, I ate several more both after the wedding and for breakfast the next day. Even my husband who doesn't like sweets loved it. The only downside is that Amelia may have set the bar way too high, and he's not getting cake like that local to us any time soon. TLDR if you are getting married in the Jax area, or doing any event that can use a cake, I cannot recommend Cake Me to Paradise enough. Thank you so much Amelia from both of us!
