    A great pad.

Sweet - literally. It's Sugar is always a fun stop, be it to look at the novelties inside or to engage in some of the sweetness of the candy. Usually I just look around, but the day I went, the gummy bears finally got to me. I picked up an assortment of things, but mainly gummy bears - which were plump and definitely not the over the counter type you find at the supermarkets. The bins were clean and everything looked nice enough - usually I'm cautious getting candy from places the public has access to, but this time I felt like things were maintained well. Take your pick of what candy/sugar you want, because they have a wide assortment from loose to packaged brands. There is definitely some nostalgic candy here as well. The novelty items are my favorite part - there's enough of a variety and always entertaining. Located in the Tanger Outlets at Foxwoods. Most It's Sugar's are relatively the same, but always a nice store to stop by.

All the jelly beans you could want!

This is a beautiful well lit and clean location! The workers were nice, everything was well stocked. They also have a huge variety of candy, things you don't find everyday. A big selection of gummy bears too! What I love about this store is that it's not just chocolate! Walk towards the back and there's fun clothes, dog accessories and even fun baby items! I would definitely check this place out if you're in Foxwoods!

Located across from Starbucks and Cedars Steakhouse at Foxwoods Resort Casino this little candy…read moreshop opened during Labor Day Weekend this year (2014) as part of the casinos retail concourse face lift. While small, this place really packs a punch with it's charm and variety of offerings. The staff tries to great everyone who comes in and the decor is very colorful/whimsical featuring a chandelier that looks like it's made of different colors of rock candy and chocolate sculptures. There seems to be a few different sections...Jelly Belly, M&Ms, retro candy, seasonal stuff, jewelry, gummies, pillows (some scented!), stationary, bacon themed stuff (wha?), loose individually wrapped candy you can buy by the pound (reasonable at $7.95 and since it's wrapped you can put some back if you think you are spending too much), and a bakery case that holds really fancy cupcakes and Cronuts (croissant donuts). For being in the casino the prices are really reasonable on most things and downright cheap on other things (you can get a lolly pop for 25 cents or a huge pixy stick for 75 cents). The things that run a premium on price seems to be the jewelry, a few of the stuffed animals, and the cupcakes/cronuts. That said they offer discounts for veterans, tribal members, and certain players cards (King, Ace, Royal) and take players points. I got a seasonal set of jelly bellys that had eggnog and candy cane flavors that were great and a selection of cupcakes and cronuts to try with my friends. If you want to splurge I TOTALLY recommend a pumpkin spice cronut (although Cinnamon Sugar and Maple Pecan were awesome too). SOOO GOOD...while I didn't get a ton of pumpkin flavor, I got that melt on your tongue nutmeggy cinnamon sweetness that was just amazing. The Cookies & Cream, Salted Caramel, and S'more cupcakes were REALLY good too. Very rich though.. glass of milk or coffee is definitely a must nearby. There is a lot of icing/filling to cake ratio (which I enjoy) and they are very pretty so I definitely feel like I'm getting a special treat for the price. Overall I say take a quick cruise through to see if they have anything to interest you (or samples they do from time to time) and then you'll know where to go to get a fairly decent priced sweet treat to sit with you at your table/slot machine/during a show/or after dinner.

There's something about seeing the cooks working the line that adds another layer to the experience. It feels lively, energetic, and authentic. We started with a variety of appetizers because, honestly, everything on the menu sounded amazing. First came the bread service with two olive oils. The bread was light and airy, with just enough chew, and it soaked up the oil and sauce like it knew exactly what its job was. Next up were the meatballs, served in a rich tomato sauce with ricotta and shaved Parmigiano. The meatballs had a unique flavor thanks to the sausage mixed into the blend. They were tender, savory, and deeply satisfying. The sauce was chunky and well-balanced, just the right touch of sweetness without tipping into acidity. We also ordered the arancini, which came crisp on the outside and packed with umami flavor, helped along by the truffle sauce. One bite and you understand why these little rice bombs are such a classic. And then there was the cheese board, a nice variety that gave everyone something different to pick at between bites of everything else. For my main course, I went with the Pork Chop Giambotta. The pork chop was grilled beautifully, tender, juicy, and full of flavor. It was topped with a giambotta, a rustic Italian stew of vegetables that included fingerling potatoes, sausage, hot cherry peppers, vinegar, garlic, and onions. This dish hit every note on the palate, sweet, savory, tangy, and just enough heat to keep things interesting. One of those plates where every forkful gives you a slightly different combination of flavors. It was a great meal, made even better by sharing it with family. And the service deserves a mention as well. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly accommodating, the kind of hospitality that makes the whole evening feel effortless. A great night all around.

We set out to pick fresh floral stems and pumpkins. We were greeted with so much more....The sweet playful house pup who immediately brought us an apple for a game (or 25) of catch. He made this whole experience so much sweeter for my girls! We had a blast chasing him around the gorgeous rows of vibrant flowers and filled apple trees. We could've stayed for hours playing with him alone!! We purchased mini apple cider donuts the girls gobbled down in two seconds flat. They LOVED these! $4 for a bag of a dozen, fresh and hot off the press sugary, perfectly snack sized donuts. They also offer grass fed beef, pork and chicken. We met the owner who kindly poured us samples of their delicious fresh, raw cider and showed us the original mill which is housed in their awesome, simplistic barn. (If you're traveling, remember to bring a cooler with ice as the cider is unpasteurized.) She also suggested I purchase a "Long Island Cheese pumpkin" which I had never heard of before! Have you?! She gave me instructions on how to bake it and make what she said will be the best pumpkin pie ever! (I'll keep you posted). She also gave me some local suggestions on things to do (Old Sturbridge Village, Mass) which we did and had a fantastic time! Thank you!! Prices we thought were very fair and it feels so good supporting small, hardworking business owners. This farm is on the smaller size, but it's absolutely full of that unmistakable pure New England charm and quality goods! We would come back here in a heartbeat and had a VERY memorable, awesome first trip! If you're in the area or maybe looking for a weekend escape, this fabulous farm is located in a quaint town that offers so much, yet is so far away from it all. You won't be disappointed making an entire trip out of heading this way.
