They also sell chocolates and gifts, adding to the "fun little shop" feel as soon as you walk in. I went specifically for ice cream because I was looking for a nearby ice cream shop, and this one caught my eye. It wasn't too crowded when I visited, and the staff was relaxed, friendly, and helpful while getting my scoop ready. I ordered a cookies-and-cream-style flavor with a blue base and cookie crumbles, and it was exactly what I needed on a hot Friday afternoon during a Massachusetts heat wave. I got the smallest (pixie, 4oz) size, and it was plenty for me. Overall, it's a very cute, kitschy little shop that's easy to pop into if you're in town. I wish I'd had more time to explore the gifts and chocolates, but even just stopping in for ice cream was a fun treat.

I walked into this quaint shop and was welcomed by three workers. Super sweet and welcoming. I went straight to the fudge and they had a lot of varieties to pick from. I asked the nice lady behind the counter what are some of the most popular and she started listing some. I first decided on one square of chocolate peanut butter and after looking more, the worker suggested I should get one more. Yes, she was right! Got some cookies and cream fudge too. They last well in the fridge and more to share. The fudge was priced very well. I was expecting more but it was a great price. Had some fudge tonight and they both are delicious!

It's not every day that I think, "Huh, I want some fudge," but why not?! It's delicious and the fudge here is fantastic. The customer service was phenomenal, and it smells like your next happy place. I'm happy to add it to my list of places to stop at whenever we visit NE. We had a nut allergy in our group, and they were very accommodating and told us about their protocol to prevent cross contamination (washing blades and pans in between batches) and packaged the items for our nut allergy friend separately. Although there isn't a 100% certainty, I'm happy to say our friend did not need an epi pen and was thrilled with his fudge!

The first was my order continuously being skipped over a few weeks ago. I gave up with that and got something from the hot bar. Today, I ordered a steak bomb sub from the counter. My friend ordered two chicken sandwiches. These people let my order get stolen by another customer. They then made another steak bomb for me and proceeded to wrap up a regular steak and cheese which barely had anything. They left the other sub on the counter unwrapped before by standing customers had to step in before they finally gave me the sub I asked for. Please, NEVER order from this counter. The employees were nothing but rude to me. These people should be ashamed for this. Very unprofessional.

In 2024, the limited edition Sabrina Carpenter Espresso ice cream sold out very fast. I stopped by Van Leeuwen in Peabody after dinner. The friendly staff member offered me free samples of ice cream before I decided to get the Goodest ($9.60 plus tax) choice of 3 flavor scoops in a cup. I got the Earl Grey Tea, Vegan Summer Sweet Potato & Marshmallow Fluff and Sweet Corn & Blueberry Jam. They do not accept cash at checkout, but they have a cash to card converter machine in the back. There is limited seating inside the shop and outside patio tables & chairs in front of the store. I enjoyed the interesting flavors I chose for my dessert, not overly sweet, but light with robust flavors. The core flavors of Van Leeuwen Ice Cream are also in stock at my local Walmart in NH, but I still enjoy going to an actual Van Leeuwen Ice Cream scoop shop for the experience and a nice treat.
