I was disappointed--the only 2 products we bought, chocolate malt balls and jelly beans, were both stale and dry so it seems like the products sit on the shelves for a long time. Okay, I'm going to start my review of the chocolate . Ive always gone along with the saying" Who Doesn't LOVE Chocolate!". But ... there's chocolate & then there's other chocolate. I believe it's a personal taste kind of thing...you either like it..or you don't. . I received an assortment from this store. Obviously the fact that I hadn't chosen the pieces added to the assortment, all I'm able to do is review what I did get. First of all each piece looked far too shiny & tasted waxy, something I definitely do not like. There was absolutely no richness & just far too sweet to my liking. So to save the calories, you guessed it I ended up bringing on 98% of ox to where I work where they all disappeared. Would I actually shop here? Probably not. read more

I've shopped at Mimi's in person, but this was my first remote order. My wife likes their milk chocolate raspberry jellies. I sent an email to confirm they had what I needed in stock and to get the price and delivery cost. I called Mimi, she was very helpful, friendly, to place the order. 48 hours later they arrived at my door so, I'm ready for Easter. Reasonable prices, great friendly service. The chocolates are delicious, however the woman (Mimi?) who works the counter could use a little sweetening up. Every time I've been to the store she's seemed put-upon by my questions, needing my order rung up, or perhaps my existence. I've received the same treatment whether shopping solo or accompanied by my child. read more

This place is terrific. Just what I was looking for. Upscale chocolate store for a hostess gift. The variety is terrific and the prices are very good. I have never been to this business, but I watched this woman throw a complete temper tantrum behind me in traffic since she couldn't see that there was no room for me to make a right hand turn. Then, like a lunatic tried to cut me off, I'm in a gigantic cargo van by the way, as soon as I can safely make said right hand turn. I have to stop short because there's a man standing in the middle of the road, and she proceeds to nearly run him down in an effort to illegally pass me on the right near i93. This woman seriously needs to lose her licence. I can only imagine if there had been a child trying to cross that couldn't dodge her near vehicular murderous road rage. A word to the wise, if you're going to go postal in your car, make sure your business is blazoned across your murder weapon. read more

I went in to Sweet Mimi's today, I usually go 3-4 times a year. Today was probably one of the worst visits. The man behind the counter was rude when I asked if he had my favorite candy, telling me that they melt in the summer----doesn't all chocolate melt if not refrigerated? Then when I was at the counter ordering the slush I noticed that the rude man behind the counter was BAREFOOT!!! No shoes, no socks, just barefoot. That is disgusting. If you are working, especially with food, you need to have your feet covered. On top of it all the slush was melted as soon as he scooped it out, the chocolate covered oreos that I got were stale and I didn't get a receipt for anything. I was not impressed and will not be back to Sweet Mimi's. read more

ok, forget a diet if that's your plan. not only are the candies THE BEST EVER but mimi is as sweet as the chocolates she sells and not just chocolates, every different kind of candy imaginable. parties for kids, but so much more, just peek into the window and drool. and the people working there are helpful, delightful and have ideas for trays and baskets that if not already made up, will be made in minutes. my favorite place to go to when visiting friends in new england. that coming from a new yorker!!!!! read more

I've had a few experiences with this store. Their candy is stale (not the home made chocolates but the jelly beans, ect that you can get a few stores down at cvs for much cheaper). As another reviewer point out, the staff is not friendly (to put it nicely) and they do put all of the chocolates in 1 bag instead of nearly in a box. They seemed to get anxiety when kids entered the store. Someone ordered us jelly beans from this store along with balloons as a gift. I hope they didn't pay too much for them. The jelly beans were stale and the flavors the store (not the person who ordered us a gift) picked out was the tropical blend for a little girl (coconut, pineapple, ect = not kid friendly). read more

The owners are extremely off putting and rude foremost. Their penny candy is always stale as is their fudge they get from Winfreys and let sit for eons and continue to sell. They're chocolates are decent but nothing exciting like new fusion flavors you can get get from premium chocolatiers. For the price they charge you'd expect the product to be fresh. If you're in the market for fresh fudge, chocolates, and candy make the trek to Winfreys. read more

I visited the store at noon and the store has a note on the door saying "back in 5 mins." I waited for 40minutes and still nobody came back. I had to leave for work. When I called in the afternoon, the person who picked up the phone was very rude and even did not bother to apologize. He says it was a medical emergency and the store has opened for 30 years and this is the first time things like this happened. How lucky I am! read more

The store lady is a little weird. She didn't seem to hear what I was ordering even I kept pointing to my selections. The chocolates are a little overpriced though they are pretty good. However she kept putting all chocolates in one small bag and they were a mess when I opened it with the wraps all coming off. read more

"Sweet Mimi's" is a huge exaggeration. Absolutely nothing sweet about either of the women that worked there today - Mimi was one of them. Was it Valentine's Day today? Yes, but they weren't swamped with customers, and if I am going to purchase premium chocolate in a premium shop I would expect the experience to be less than painful. I had to wait for the woman to get off the phone before I could place my order. Way over priced! $25/lb??? The chocolate is 2nd rate. Plus, she had a crumpled up piece of tissue paper in her hand that had obviously been used over and over again and then didn't even use it to put my chocoloates in the box! Used her uncovered hands! I went to Sweet Mimi's to look for favors for a bridal shower. I must say, the owner was very nice and very helpful. She suggested a long pretzel covered in chocolate and M+M's that would work well with the colors I was using at the table. Not only did they look great, but they were so delicious. I have an unhealthy obsession with candy, and the store is perfect to satisfy my needs. On the other hand, the service isn't great. Mimi herself is fairly nice, although sometimes less so than others, but her husband is downright awful! He's incredibly rude, and to KIDS too! During one exchange there were two girls (6th grade-ish) in line in front of me. Only one of them was buying something. She had her candy weighed, and Mr. Mimi gave her the price. Turns out she was a tad short, so her friend pulled out a couple of dollars. Mr. Mimi glared at the friend, telling her that the girl needed to pay for herself. so many things wrong with this exchange... 1) Business is business. Why should it matter to him who's giving it? 2) They were kids looking for a fun, relaxed Friday afternoon. He obviously ruined it as the girl looked like she was trying really hard to hold back tears. 3) How was the girl expected to pay for it herself?! She only had x amount of money. When ever I am in the Andover area I always make it a point to go to Sweet Mimi's. The selection and quality of their product is superb. I am a choc-a-holic so I could spend hours there. Our entire family loves chocolates, and although we've tried alot of candy stores, very few seem to measure up to Sweet Mimi's. For being an overpriced candy store with not even an impressive array of chocolates, one would think the owners would at least to attempt and convey sweetness, as the name would suggest. However, not only are Mr and Mrs mimi not "sweet", they are downright unpleasant and surly. I am employed a block down from their store, and have frequented the establishment occasionally in search of a sugar fix. The owners are never pleasant, but my experience today left me with such a bitter taste in my mouth (even while eating their candy) I must write an unfavorable review. I entered the store and greeted Mr mimi, who absolutely knows who I am, as he uses the facilities at my job all the time. He did not say hello, or any words to me despite my cheery greeting and sign of recognition. While ringing me up, no words did he utter except for the total owed. After I paid, and said thank you, he did not thank me for my business, or wish me a nice day. He was so unfriendly it was awkward! I think this lack of common courtesy is appalling, and at the very least, an unacceptable way to run a local business. Especially one called "sweet mimis". I will be buying my candy elsewhere. Perhaps cvs, where I can find equivalent product at a fairer price, and probably a thank you upon checkout. read more
