This store is hilarious. So many goodies and random knick knacks to see. Too bad it's just very expensive! $12-15 for some novelty candy items. I was glad to see Harry Potter chocolate wands and frogs. Don't see them that often in store! The also sell candy in bulk. I was searching for a gift for a friend that was interesting and fun. I mean come on?? So delicious. In all honesty, this store is a cavity waiting to happen but I love it. I had to dock a star because it's candy which appeals to kids and I found some of their risky items kind of inappropriate such as their candy g strings, colon blow and d*ck in a box. I was mortified for the parents to be honest. The women who welcomed us to the store was awesome and so sweet! All puns intended. I've had a hankering for gummy sharks for several days , so I was really happy to see an It's Sugar at the Boardwalk when I arrived early for a nearby birthday party. The store was clean from what I could tell, and although I was the only one masked (delta variant, you know), the clientele seemed to be respectful in keeping the scoops and tongs clean. The store had the usual chocolate, gummy, sour gummy, and licorice sampler corrals and wide selection of packaged candies. The packages along the walls are enticing because of a notable huge or small size, nostalgic boxing or flavor (think Big League) or collectability (think Pez dispensers), or some combination of the three (think HUGE Pez dispenser). read more

If I was running "It'sugar"- I'd give it a tag line "& Adorable Gifts" So there's pokemon stuff There's pusheen stuffed toys There's old timey candy There's magnets with sassy sayings A bunch of good stocking stuffers *Make a note of that* I mean... there is a lot outside of candy in this store! And I had a wonderful time exploring it. Granted, I was a little bit sleep deprevated the day I went. But I was just enamored. My sleep deprevation purchases included: 1. The worldest tinest vaccum (I bought it for my car for those little crevices). And it's kind of adorable plugs into a usb ;) 2. An enamel pusheen pin that is pusheen dressed up as another animal ( and it's a mystery pin). Gave that to T, it was Pusheen dressed up as a raccoon. Yeah, it's freakin' adorable. And last but certainly not least, 3. A plush fortune cookie that has a pull out attached fortune that says "You will eat something yummy soon."(That's for me) Cashier was friendly, and was quick to come over from her side work when she saw me at the register. Super Cute - Lots of Pusheen items and a wide selection of candies. They have retro items also. The employee was very friendly and helpful. For example, they had Fake Sushi (done with gel candy) for $9.95. LARGE lollipop was $19.95. Pusheen Stuffed animals were $29.95. I felt somethings were reasonably priced, others not so much, but that's probably more of a brand/licensing thing. The store is brightly lit, clean and colorful. Fun for a little window shopping or to pick up some candy. They had Jelly Belly bins, but they are not a "bin" candy store. read more

Man did they choose a great place to put this store! High school kids galore roaming Rio on a Friday and Saturday night! Pair that up with a sugar high from giant sized candy bars, and a dizzying array of candy - on top of their already giddy prepubescent teenage angst and you've got a match made in sugar heaven. They have everything pop culture from My Little Pony and Hello Kitty which appeals to my 6 yr old, to Ted bears and Duck Dynasty dolls, giant candy bars, edible underwear, candy body paint, and giant candy necklackes galore. I am NOT suggesting you bag a bag of candy and put it in your purse to take into the movie theatre....but I may or may not have done that myself. :p It's a fun little store to check out. Omg talk about a big kid candy store! This place has everything I could dream of! Gummies, chocolates, taffy and cute Pusheen pillows! We came here one evening after walking around the lake. Loud poppy music at full volume and friendly staff. Candy is weighed and you pay by weight. That can get you into trouble! We spent $30 on candy lol! I had to stock up on gummies! I mean when buckets of all diff gummy candies are all together I need to! They had gummy LEGO bricks! Those were fun to try and build with. Also got some 3D pineapples and of course gummy bears! So many flavors of gummy bears and I think the frosted banana ones were my favorite. Just because they are unique and not your average flavor you get in the bags at the store. They have rock candy too and the fruit flavor tootsie rolls. I smacked my head after I saw the container of regular tootsie rolls because those are like crack for me! The store is clean and well laid out. Good location. Right by street parking and a parking garage. The store itself is pretty big so there is a lot of different types of sweets. My problem was the flavors of candy. There were very few original flavors in this store. All the candy (even the ones you've had before) tasted too artificial and weird fruity. Today 02/21/19 @ 8:20pm as I walked inside this store location to get some gummies for my kids as I always come this location every so often. I never had any issues with anything, such as employees and else. I normally get the gummies bear because it's my son favorite, but one of my friend told me I should check the gummies coke out, she thinks that we might like it better. I sometimes go to DC location or Rockville location as well as this location I always often saw people try or eat those gummies every single time! (Never heard or see anyone has issues *yet maybe*) But today for the first time (Also the last time) I went in... grab a bag and start putting the plain gummies coke in when I also saw another type of gummies coke with sugar. So I was curious to know what's the flavor different since my friend didn't mention they had different flavors for that. While I try one of each as I saw another group of people with kids also trying something too. Suddenly, (Jennifer) the only employee that was working in there at the time. screamed her lung out across the store said " Hey, you can't do that, you can't grab things and eat like that" I was shock as I replied with a total embarrassment with all people look at me like I'm stealing something. I said "I'm sorry I didn't know that and no one ever told me before, but I'm really sorry if I know I wouldn't do that" as she said with anger towards me " I have 5 cameras in the store so don't do that you have to ask the manager if you need anything ! I'm not the arguing type of person so I decided to check out cuz it was so much embarrassing that I cry like a baby when I walked out because of the full attention from everyone inside the store looking at me as I walked out . So JENNIFER, if you're having a long day dealing with to many kids or people and you're tired I'm sorry, but hopefully you don't treat other customers like that! Very unamused by the way I was treated today, from the moment I walked into the store tonight my friends and I were treated very poorly and it's very unfortunate because the store has a great variety of candies and fun things. As we walked in an employee standing by the door bumped into me, which I apologized for seeing as I was walking into the store and I must've been too busy looking at the assortment of items, proceeded to make eye contact, scoffed at me, and replied "whatever." A few minutes in, as we were filling our bags with candy I had gone to the same employee and asked her if I could put back certain candy that I had already pulled out and poured into the bag, she replied it was fine if I used the scoop, as I began to do so she yelled from across the store that I was not allowed to put candy back and that she would send me out of the store if I tried to do so; how embarrassed I was!! People throughout the store began to watch me as I proceeded to walk to the cash register and pay for whatever I had because in all honesty I just wanted to get out. As I was leaving, the same employee was waiting for us at the door. She again scoffed at me, turns to my friends and says "you two have a nice night" (there were only three of us there.) Needless to say, the experience was awful and it's unclear if I wish to return to this store. The store is bright, colorful, cheerful and overall very inviting! The young gal working was extremely outgoing and friendly. She allowed my two year old to sample pretty much whatever she wanted. We were walking to the frozen yogurt store when the two nine-year olds I was with spotted It'Sugar. Before I could think straight they were in this store with blasting music, useless junk, and way overpriced candy. Right away they grabbed some plastic bags and started putting candy into them. I finally told our granddaughter's guest that she needed to stop and I would pay for her bag at that point, but anything more was on her. When I took this bag with some candy corn and a bit of rock candy to the register, it rang up to almost $8.00. I should have walked away. I warned the girls that the candy was priced ridiculously, but my granddaughter took her money and bought some more. We ended up with a big candy kiss and two bags of sugar crud for almost $24.00. The candy in the bins was $12.96 per pound. Never again. If you are looking for Marilyn Monroe mugs or huge wine glasses, this might be your place, but otherwise no way. We got an assortment of gummy candies as well as some plain rock candy. The rock candy was lovely and we were able to get more than enough for about $3. The gummy candies were nothing to be desired. While it was nice to be able to choose a few pieces of many varieties, the storage containers (combined with a very humid store) left the candy soggy (which is not even something I knew *could* happen to gummy candy.) Of the selections we made, most flavors were off. The Swedish Fish were distinctly the wrong flavor and gummy colas (both sour and non) had a dreadful aftertaste. Watermelon sour belts were edible, but Sour Patch Kids were not. The sour gummy worms (which we did not purchase) were so wet that the sour sugar had dissolved off them. We have previously patronized the Atlantic City location and had an exponentially better experience there (5/5 stars), so I'm not sure what the discrepancy is with this Rio location. read more

I was here with my 4 children and they were looking at this stuffed animal of "Ted" from the movie Ted. So they pressed the button on its hand and it started cussing. So I quickly moved my children away, and we looked around and saw this candy called "Camal Balls," which was innapropriate for my youngest who is 5. They were also promoting beer and cigarettes. Saw this store on my way to Lily Magillies, my co worker and I couldn't resist. The person working was pretty helpful and every time we asked for something he pointed it out for us. I asked if they had super sized Twizzlers, he said they had some and were 50% off. *GASP* how could I resist? It would be the perfect just-because-I-can gift for my fiancee. I also threw in a box of pretzel M & M's for myself. We will def be hitting this place up when we go to the moves and save us some cash.
