There truly aren't enough words to describe Marji's work. We couldn't be more excited to discover It's Not Trash (thank you, Reddit!). From our very first conversation about a vintage dining table we found on Etsy and a bed frame, Marji was incredibly patient asking questions and guiding us through every step of the process. Meeting in person and seeing where the magic happens made us feel completely confident. Marji's craftsmanship is exceptional--thoughtful, meticulous, and clearly made with care. We're genuinely excited to furnish our new home with more of these beautifully crafted pieces, beyond the gorgeous dining table and sturdy, well-made bed frame. For this level of quality, the pricing is extremely reasonable. Marji is a true artist, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend It's Not Trash to anyone looking for exceptional, well-made furniture. Thank you, Marji! read more

Bought my bed frame in 2017 and then unfortunately have had to move 3 times since then. Movers probably didn't reassemble well each time and the bed developed a squeak. Called Its Not Trash to see if they could help me out and they came out in a couple days to help reinforce the frame and fix the squeak. Still love our bed frame and headboard and glad we're able to hold onto it for more years to come. read more

It was my first time investing in a bed frame and having a headboard. Nate made the process seamless and answered all my questions to ensure I was making the right choice. The bed was made finished shockingly fast and Nate was flexible as I had a mishap and got locked out of my apartment for a bit. I can tell the quality is superb and for the price I don't think you can get any better! And love that they use reclaimed wood. read more

I found it's not trash on Craigslist and loved the idea of using recycled wood, supporting a family run business and getting custom made furniture. I ordered a king sized bed for a new apartment I was moving into. You can choose the stain and custom options like a shelf or lights on the headboard. I like minimal furniture in my apartment and Nancy's design saved me money and space because I no longer needed side tables or a lamp. I wasn't sure what type of stain to order because my room is wood paneled but Nancy sent me pictures of my options (because stains can change color based on the wood) and I think the color turned out great. Nancy, her granddaughter and daughter in law showed up yesterday to deliver the bed and put it together. I was very impressed to see these three women carry the heavy headboard up my three flights of stairs! It is the sturdiest bed I've ever owned and they assembled it in my bedroom which made it easier to get into my bedroom. We had a couple of issues (the wood was cut too long, and the panels had to be rescrewed in), but Nancy and her family brought all the tools to make it right and they were a pleasure to be around. The bed turned out better than I could have imagined and I want to get all my furniture made by them now! read more

Love it! I ran past one of their ads on Instagram and had my husband look them up. We love the rustic look so it was easy to fall in love with their stuff. We immediately ordered a head board and footboard! Within a week or so I received a call about how the process works and also found out that this is a small family run and owned business. It's well worth the cost although it may initially sound expensive. Think about what you're getting and what you're supporting for that money: - Unique design based on your specifications - very sturdy and hand made - supporting local/small business - made with reclaimed/ real wood instead of composite - you're not going to find this level of hospitality or level of Cs anywhere else - From build to delivery is super fast We love our new bed frame! read more

I'm very pleased with my purchases from It's Not Trash. I first requested a custom hanging barn door for my home and it turned out beautifully. Katie worked with me to design the door and color choices to my likes. Nancy delivered it to my home and her husband made a special trip out to help me hang it. I loved my door so much that a couple months later I asked Katie if she could build me a couple desk tops for my office. I just got my new desktops and I couldn't be happier. I highly recommend It's Not Trash for your next custom design! read more

We loved our bed son much that when it was time to get a large bed for our daughter we knew where to go. Placed order via site, contacted within a few days to go over quote and in 2 weeks her bed was complete (yellow comforter). We ended up picking up and setting up ourselves which was simple to do. Our daughter (and us) love it! read more

I commissioned a custom headboard made from reclaimed wood and I'm incredibly happy with what I got! I was so happy to find a place that recycles wood and makes such beautiful pieces. I went on their web site to see their gallery of stuff and fell in love with the style of their work. They get most of their wood from old fences that are being replaced and they have an amazing array of wood to choose from. I filled out the online form, and from there had a series of conversations about what I wanted. I also drove to their shop to see more examples and see where they made their stuff. The shop is amazing! And the women who work there love their craft. Their prices are reasonable, they are super friendly to work with, I got exactly what I wanted, delivered and installed, and didn't break the budget. I'm a very happy customer and can't wait til I need another table or other wood furniture. I'll be calling them again for sure!! read more

Nathan was awesome. We discussed the bed design and decided to go for it. At first we had a specific design but decided to let him just make something great with our reference in mind. He killed it and we love the new bed and headboard. Super glad we just had him do his thing. Fast, professional, and great communication. Thanks again Nathan- we love it! read more

Beautiful furniture at affordable prices! After my husband & I experienced a house fire, we had to replace everything. As we were reorganizing and looking for furniture, we found Nancy, It's Not Trash and feel so lucky we did. We 1st asked Nancy to make us a bed frame, & matching end tables. They came out just as expected, beautiful! Nancy then made us a butcher block table 36" high from an old pine they had and we love this table using it everyday. Next project was shelves, yes simple enough for Nancy and her family to make, but then I asked to her to make an armoire on top of the shelves. Love my furniture made by It's Not Trash! read more

Nancy created the most gorgeous wood headboard and platform bed, was a joy to work with, and even came to install it herself. A truly amazing company to work with for custom, hand-crafted, local furniture. HIGHLY recommended! read more

Nancy built an incredibly beautiful dining table for our family using 60-year-old redwood. Per our request, she built two benches that fit perfectly underneath the table. She also ensured that both the benches and the table were very well supported. When you have a curious toddler who loves to climb, this is key. We love that Nancy used reclaimed wood. It makes the table one-of-a-kind. In addition to providing amazing customer service, Nancy was incredibly fast. When we told her that we would love to get the table in time for a party, she immediately got to work and delivered it within two weeks. Our table was worth every penny. I would highly recommend It's Not Trash to anyone. read more

I absolutely loved working with Nancy and am so happy that I found the shop. Its Not Trash made a beautiful, unique bookcase for me to fit perfectly in a little nook in our home. The process was extremely easy (even for a working mom with small kids!) and there were no hiccups along the way. I provided measurements and a photo of what I was thinking and the spot I wanted it to go in and Nancy quickly provided me with a quote, estimated delivery time, and detail on how they would make it. She sent photos of progress along the way, let me choose the stain from photo options, and delivered the end product personally (and on time as committed). It looks amazing!!!! Such high quality work. I was super impressed by the Its Not Trash shop and the talented women who run it. Can't wait to work with them again read more

My review is overdue but I had a table and desk made for an apartment in San Francisco. Nancy's company came highly recommended from the previous tenant who had a custom bed made. I'm a local architect and I was really amazed with the process Nancy used to design, build, deliver and install the pieces to my needs. The process included emails, photos in different lighting and sketches. I couldn't make it work on my end but Nancy invited me to her workshop if I wanted to see progress first hand. Nancy was thoughtful, communicative and so friendly for the duration we worked together. I completely recommend "It's Not Trash" to anyone looking to go through this unique process. The end result is a rich, darkly stained table and desk that I love with a simple accent stripe painted at the center. The pieces are authentic, sturdy and have a rustic chic style that really elevate the look and feel of reclaimed wood. My fiance and I are so happy that we worked with Nancy! read more

Amazing place to buy quality furniture at an affordable price. I had the pleasure of visiting them in Felton and picking out the wood for our bed which turned out beautifully. They're wonderful to deal with and do such a good job for such an incredible price. So much of furniture is such poor quality now and their prices make buying something really beautiful that will hold up possible for people that can't afford to buy high end furniture. This is high end construction at an incredible value. read more

Nancy and Katie do great work and are a total pleasure to interact with. We've gotten two beds made by them and love them! They are affordable, beautiful, unique, and well-made. It's Not Trash is fantastic. I first had them make a 12 foot outdoor table with benches. It was exactly what I had envisioned. So fun to have them take my idea and create it. They delivered and assembled the table and we enjoyed it all last summer and look forward to many more summer dinners. Then I had them make two beds (1 full and 1 queen) and am so please with the craftsmanship and quality. My latest project was a very large coffee table to fit our sectional. It is beautiful. You will never find something like this table in stores or online. Nancy is a sweetheart and so great to work with. Fun to work with a family business who are so passionate about their work.
