I want the best for my puppies, so I asked so many different people where and how they trained their dogs. I received a few suggestions, but decided to do my own search...and I'm glad I did. Leo (Owner) and his amazing team of trainers TRULY care about the pups they train. Leo came to my home and wanted to meet me and my pups before I had to decide on making any decisions. After sitting down with him for about half an hour, I knew I found what I was looking for: Someone who wants me to have healthy and happy dogs. I signed up for the in-home training at first which is Leo coming to the house and training me on how to train my puppies (Archie and Charlie just turned 6 months and started with Leo and his team when they were 4.5). Very quickly, I realized I could not handle training both these puppies the way they needed to be trained. I discussed with Leo and decided to do a Board & Train. I like the schedule because I get to take the puppies on the weekends to spend time with me. Don't get me wrong, you NEED to train your pups on the weekends, but it's worth it and FUN. Archie has become the Puppy King (no offense to other puppies or their owners )). Charlie has a lot more energy, but has improved immensely! Leo's trainers are so caring. I feel my dogs get love with their training when they're not with me, and I couldn't ask for more. I see their excitement whenever I visit about improvements and milestones that Archie and Charlie achieved. They gleam with as much pride as I do. They are pittie mixes that are reactive, super excitable, tugged hard on walks, and one has had a history of aggression towards other dogs. I really wanted to get him trained so that he stopped pulling on the leash because I'm pregnant and I've had enough of him almost pulling me over when he gets excited or decides he wants to veer in a direction other than where I'm heading. I called multiple dog trainers who also said Leroy would need a training program for 12 weeks or an intensive doggy boot camp for 10 day or more. Prices ranged between $1,200 - 3,000. I called Duane who said he can help me in one private session. I was surprised, excited, and a little skeptical. He got me in right away which was also fantastic. We show up for our training and Duane met us outside and gave us a lesson in doggy obedience. He then proceeded to give Leroy the beat down of his life. A necessary one, he needed to learn how to listen. Huskies are notorious babies and extravagant drama queens. Poor Leroy, he howled and cried like the memes you see online. I felt bad for the neighbors. It was painful to watch but I definitely felt that Duane knew what he was doing and he wasn't hurting him. It was an intense hour. Was it worth it? Yes! She is a wealth of knowledge. The group class settings were actually a good fit for my dog who was exhibiting over-excitement when he saw other dogs and squirrels. He would jump around on his hind legs and make panting sounds. It helped Jack practice obedience while there were other distractions, namely other dogs nearby in the class. They have these handy dividers with curtains to help control some of the over-stimulated dogs and the trainers typically have an assistant to help out too. They are good about giving them peanut butter/cheese bones to distract them and will redirect owners/dogs when needed etc. We enjoyed the class and learned quite a bit. The "power recall" and "leave it" were great take-aways. At the end of every class, we got a summary and homework sheet, which was great. Janine always returned my phone calls whenever I was concerned about my dog Jack's issues and gave great training suggestions. I think they offer lifetime phone consultations. Although Jack still has other issues, he is better, but only through diligent leadership and work with him. He is great around other dogs now. We had tried what felt like everything and his separation anxiety was so bad that it got to the point that my partner and I basically gave up our social lives, had to coordinate with one another one of us would be going to the market or if it would be a trip where we both can go but someone sits in the car with our dog. We met the team at K9 Logic Dog Training and they assessed our dog and determined what kind of training program would be best for him to address his separation anxiety and the other skills we wanted to work on. Within a week we noticed progress. We finally were able to leave the house for an hour and go to the market together. Week by week the time has gradually gotten longer where we have been able to leave him alone for longer periods of time to reclaim our social life back. I was skeptical at first, but after that first week I became a believer. It is great that our puppy gets some safe socializing with other puppies and I notice he's not as timid of reactive when passing other dogs on his walks . Melissa and Courtney have been nothing but helpful and super informative! I love that when picking up our food boy they are open to questions for advice for working on training questions we have at home. Definitely worth the money! The training itself is strong, but the administrative side needs improvement, as it impacts the overall experience and business I hope this feedback reaches the trainer directly. My puppy was out of control one day to the point something needed to be done and a friend recommended katana saying they were the best. They were able to take my dog right away because it was a bit of an emergency situation (as I said, she had done something shocking and very bad) which was amazing of them to make a next day opening. One month passed and I went to go pick up my dog and did the final two training sessions, and now I'm wondering why I have not done this with all of my dogs, as I have three dogs (now only one is properly trained) it was definitely worth it and I am amazed with how well-behaved my dog is and so many commands that she knows, it's incredible!! I cried tears of joy getting her back and seeing her improvement. I know I have a good dog for life now, and I can grow from this training and keep training her. I have changed as a dog owner! The other amazing thing she was there over the holidays, and they sent me the cutest Thanksgiving and Christmas photos of her all dressed up, and they also sent me videos of her being very well-behaved in public and doing commands. Now I show everyone these videos, telling them how wonderful my dog is, when a couple months ago, quite frankly, she scared me. Highly recommend!!
