I was given a surprise shopping experience at Roan the other day. On any other day, that'd be a bit overwhelming, but on this day given the circumstances, it was fun and special. And they'll bring you a glass of wine, beer or water. Whatever you'd like. As a boutique, Roan carries items and brands you won't see in most any other store. The designs are chic and, as with most couture, looks best on stick thin figures--cropped pants, straight dresses, and baggy silhouettes. They have a room especially for sale items that are 70% off in addition to a larger area designated especially for consignment. Pretty cool. Still on the higher budget end for most shoppers. I ended up with a trench coat that he loved and blazer that I loved. The blazer needed to be altered because the sleeves were too long. They took care of measuring it, and I'll get a call in a few days to come pick it up. The third surprise was a pair of Louboutins. I hadn't realized anyone in Carytown carried Red Bottoms. One thing I noticed is that the sizing seemed to run large (except the Louboutins, which run small). I normally wear a 6 and oddly enough, everything that fit best was an XS or 4. I know I'm not that small. Thought that was odd. Vanity sizing, perhaps? Anyhow, a really nice spot for women of means that I'd definitely shop at again when looking for something unique and special.

Every time I've walked in I've been offered a refreshment and my gifts have been wrapped beautifully (along with a variety of ribbon colors to fit the theme of your gift). They have a handful of jewelry designers they carry so new pieces are always circulating through and usually run less than $30. The whole strip has become a destination for house decor but this is my favorite shop. Highly recommend!
