At first glance I thought the jars were very cool and a different twist on slices, however, once I had a moment to dig into it, the icing was a bit too sweet for me. We were very disappointed with the wedding cake you provided. The gluten free top tier was so hard and crusty it was practically inedible. The cake itself was not what was discussed. The pink and blue colors mixed for the cake did not match the multiple images, including the invitation, which was provided of the Bride and Groom's crest. The cake was not white, as discussed, but a very yellow-tinted cream. The cake was Bride's special "thing," which is why we splurged on the cake. It was absolutely heartbreaking when we viewed it, especially given that it was placed as the focal point when guests entered the venue. A grocery store cake would have looked better. The quality of work you gave us looked like a different decorator's than that showcased on your website and social media. A lot of thought and effort was put into the cake choices and design, as well as follow-up conversations with Amie to confirm the design. Love that I can just pop in with my pup to pick up desserts to go. They also sell pupcakes of you're so inclined. Amanda helped me lock in my order for my daughter's pre-k graduation cake. I sent her a photo, told her the flavor request and how many people. She responded quickly and with a very fair price. My mom picked it up day of, and someone helped her by carrying it to the car and ensuring it was safe from getting messed up. The cake was beautiful AND delicious. It wasn't dry at all. Located on the corner of one of the side shops of the Halcyon, this little quaint shop definitely needs some more care and attention. We were greeted by an employee at the register, and checked out their display of cupcakes, cookies, and cakes that are made into custom designs that were on display. It is very clean (as it should be considering its brand new) but there's not much of a selection. There's also nowhere to sit, napkins or utensils provided when I got my order. The owner/head manager was there, never had a smile or even greeted us, and was not friendly at all during our encounter. I would honestly go as far to say a little rude and irritated we were even there. The employee at the cash register was way more nicer w a smile on her face. I got a red velvet cupcake and a chocolate covered Oreo. The cupcake was so small, and based on steep price of $3.75, this should have been the best cupcake of my life. It was the worst. My 4 year old even spit it out. It was hard, dry, and you could feel it to touch and upon opening it up, it was obvious it wasn't fresh and didn't taste good. Even the icing was hard and seemed like it had been out for awhile. So disappointing. The Oreo $3 was great, good tasting chocolate, and pretty perfect on presentation as well as thickness of the chocolate to cookie ratio. We had to walk to the middle of the courtyard at the halcyon to try the food and ask for a napkin and utensils from other establishments, which is kind of annoying when it should have been provided already for me. The cupcake was so bad, I didn't even want to go back to let them know based on how the owner seemed at the shop (very uninviting) They would have gotten a zero on the cupcake but because it was clean, Oreo was good, and I haven't tried their specialty cakes, I gave a 1 star for room of improvement. read more

We have visited this bakery at the Halcyon Farmers Market and their actual storefront location and have had great experiences in both instances. Their shop is super clean and they have the cutest little consultation room for personalized orders, too! We have had the cookies and the cake in a jar and really enjoyed both of them! I immediately replied and awaited a response that didn't come. Over the next week, I sent another email to Amie and called the store in a effort to continue the process... to no avail. A few days passed and that quote never came. I called the store and left another message. I never heard back. Once I reached 5 days out from my event, I had to assume that I was in need of another vendor.
