Bathrooms, bedrooms, and kitchen were all spotlessly clean and free of sand--which is saying something because we were 1 block from the beach! The view, the proximity to the beach, the walkability to restaurants and shops, I can't imagine ever even looking for something better! We were able to accommodate 3 1/2 couples! Finally, the host was on call and responded immediately on even the most minor of questions. Plus, they proactively reached out a couple times to make sure all was well!

The only issue we have encountered has been some plumbing issues a couple times, but that didn't stop us from having a fun time. They have several swimming pools, a jacuzzi (too crowded), two gyms, tennis courts, pickleball courts (too crowded), small sauna and steam rooms in the gym locker room and more. They also have daily activities and a restaurant. Overall pretty nice resort but missing amenities such as slippers, shower caps, plastic laundry bags, bottled water (need to buy your own). Many of the daily activities also have some cost.

Security of the complex and parking area is minimal. Anyone from the alley can easily access the parking lot and all units in this complex (not a good thing in California). At least a week prior to our arrival, someone in the unit had broken a bottle of horridly pungent woman's perfume in the master bedroom. The entire unit reeked, particularly the bedroom, making that room virtually unusable. All windows in the unit had to be kept open 24/7 to make the unit somewhat livable. The odor was absorbed into our clothing and luggage. The cleaning staff, who are there only a couple hours per day at unpredictable times, informed us they had cleaned the smell to the best of their ability and there was nothing more they could do. Due to our inconvenience, we asked for either another unit and/or some other compensation. We were given neither, except the offer to move to a completely different complex for the last night of our five night stay. The management's lack of concern and fairness illustrates very poor business practice and ensures we will never rent from this group (Everyday Luxury) again.

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. First time I rented was in 2012 where we stayed at the W Style Beach House in Huntington Beach for my boyfriend's birthday bash. It was prime location and right next to the beach/main street. Sleeps around 6-8 people so it's definitely great for large groups. There is just so much to do from talking a stroll to the beach to bar hopping at the local bars. Another plus was the Starbucks just literally down the street! Second time around I rented the Royal Beach House, which was in September 2014 for my boyfriend's birthday again. It was an amazing 3-story house with tons of space. This time around it was a bit further from main street, but we were willing to sacrifice that for a larger place. We were blown away yet again the second time around. Will definitely be using Skaii Home's service as a yearly tradition. Be sure to check them out for your next beach house rental! You won't be disappointed.

I requested for connecting rooms since we were celebrating with another family. I was appreciative of the fact that the hotel accommodated this request. We were located in the Lido building which seemed to have a fresh coat of paint on the exterior (also where the gym is located). Of note, it is quite far from the Lobby. Also, the Lido building has it's own pool so that was a plus due to convenience. The rooms themselves were old and due for a renovation but they were clean. Also, there is limited lighting so it does seem a bit dark, but it does have a mini fridge, 2 bottles of complimentary water and a coffee maker with pods. One thing to note is that there is a ice and water refill station right by the gym so you can bring your refillable water container. The kids enjoyed the waterslide in the main pool which was a trek from Lido, but we had to call the front desk to ask for the attendant to open it up at 10am. We dined at SHOR restaurant and I am very appreciative of the staff for helping me to decorate the dining room for my daughter's bday and for storing the cake I brought. I gave them the decorations a few hours in advance and everything turned out lovely! Also, they put in a nice sparkler in her cake for added effect. What I appreciated most was that several of the staff and upper-management stopped by to greet my daughter. The food wasn't too bad either, but I'll save that for a different review. I wanted to order breakfast via their QR code, but I couldn't justify the cost of the food, so I ended up using UberEats/DoorDash which was significantly cheaper. I did want to give a special shoutout to Zach who noticed I was struggling since I was going down the stairs with two carry-on luggage (and it is a trek from Lido to the main self-parking lot) once we checked out of the hotel. He offered very kindly to assist with carrying and loading my luggage and give my daughter and me a lift in the golf cart to my car. This was HUGE and I so very much am grateful for him and offering to help when he could've easily walked past me without a word. THANK YOU ZACH and the SHOR TEAM!

The location was ideal because it was so quiet-no noise from PCH. Very close to town, just a few minutes' drive. Very good communication and tips on staying at the cottages. Sean was extremely helpful and very prompt with replies. Some of the one star reviews are quite outdated. Years ago. Both the living room and bedroom of our yellow cottage had wonderfully quiet ceiling fans and there was air-conditioning. We stayed in a particularly warm November of 2025 and kept the windows slightly a jar all day and even in the evening - it was ideal. FYI: The front entrance has quite a few stairs. Steep stairs. There's a back entrance accessed via the high school parking lot that made it easier to load and unload, but still a bit of a challenge for us seniors with rolling suitcases (and a recent hip replacement ;)). Still, we managed and would definitely stay here again!

This April, I scored a 2 night in cottage 4B on the only rainy/gloomy weekend we've had here. Of all the luck. Within 6days of reservation date, you lose 1 night stay so it was sunk cost so I went ahead and did both nights. Easy to check in and checkout. If you are down the hill, you can get a ride on the golf carts which are very nice. 2 cars overnight as well per cabin. Rooms were clean. There is no AC so be prepared depending on your weather. I wanted to leave windows open but most don't have a screen so you get bugs and I was afraid of critters coming in.
