Worst supplier in New York State. Maybe the United States. Took my Polaris Ranger 6x6 - which I bought there - in for service. They tore the engine apart, then dragged it out into the weeds where they left it uncovered from the elements, rodents, etc. for 54 weeks. When I brought home the unrepaired carcass that was once my nice Polaris Ranger, they charged me nearly $2000. It is now a total loss. Their excuse was that they are understaffed. DO NOT SHOP HERE. You will be greatly disappointed and abused. read more

If I could give no stars, I would. Spent close to $950 on new tires, and complete maintenance for UTV. Got UTV home only to realize it had not been greased. Person came to house and greased machine. We then realized tires were on BACKWARDS. They would not come to house to fix. Had to trailer back up to have tires changed, all at my expense. Never again. read more

The worst! The 'mechanic' is a big talker. Doesn't actually look at the equipment to be repaired. Has lots of sob stories about why he didn't look at the chainsaw for over 3 weeks, tries to make the customer feel bad when calling in to check on the job. I will not return. My father and I have worked with Jeff for over a decade, buying snowmobiles, Rangers, dirt bikes, etc. We have always been quite satisfied with the service and products and have never had any significant issues for the various brands we've dealt with (Kawasaki, Arctic Cat, Polaris). Jeff and his team are always very busy working with a lot of different customers for sales, service and repairs. That being said, once they are available, they give you their full attention. If you are looking for a knowledgable Kawasaki service center then look elsewhere. I had a couple of very minor repairs, winterizing, oil change and a rear turn signal bar replaced. Hard to imagine but they cross threaded the oil cap so that had to be replaced because of oil leakage, the light bar was installed incorrectly so that cosmetically it was quite noticeable and it looked bent. They were also supposed to order a standard part yet no follow through and after three pleasant reminder calls, I literally gave up on the place. I went to the counter and the owner and his wife will literally ignore customers in line and continue small town conversations with the locals.. Amazing they stay in business honestly if this is their gig. Bottom line? Don't do it!!! Go elsewhere.. This place is mediocre in every respect. read more

I have taken my jet boat to these robbers over 4 times now and each and every time I have had to either bring it back or fix it myself because they put it back together wrong. So once again I am boat-less for another 4th of July because this business is not even nice enough to refer me to someone who knows what they are doing, they are too busy stealing my money! Beware of taking your jet ski here for service or repair. Had a horrible experience with this shop when my engine had to be replaced. I bought a refurbished engine from SBT and took it to Ithaca Rec Sports in April, asking them to take their time replacing it, making sure everything was correct. They assigned this job to a new employee (Travis), who totally neglected to make sure everything was torqued to specification. After a couple outings, the flywheel assembly came apart, ruining the stator and shorting out the electrical system (MPEM). I paid them for a new flywheel/stator, before they realized the electrical system was hosed. They refused to take any responsibility. I lost a 2 yr. warranty on a new engine, as I've had to wait until I could afford a new MPEM and take it to another shop for repair. In short, they don't lend care to older equipment and should not even be working on it. They will simply try to sell you something new. read more

Jon K's review was right on. We brought our jet ski which we purchased from Ithaca in for repair. After 8 days in the middle of summer they still had not called. When I called I was told it wouldn't even be looked at for another week. When they finally got around to looking at it we were told they couldn't find anything wrong so it must be the computer. First they said just the computer was $1400 then called and said it was actually $2300. And they wouldn't guarantee it. Brought it elsewhere and it was repaired in 5 days and that was with waiting for the part and it runs perfect and it was not the computer. It was fixed for less then half of Ithaca's price and we were treated like customers not the fools they took us for. Will never do business with these fools again. read more

Terrible Service Dept. I emailed them a list of parts that I needed for a moped with the promise that they would get a quote for me in a day or two. I sent them the attachment to an email back in May. It is now July and I have still not received the quote. I have called at least once a week. You will have to beg them to do business with you. I have gotten a price quote from another shop in the meantime. It came in at just over $400. That is an $400 sale that could have been theirs as they are the closest dealer to where I reside and I would have had their shop do the work as well which I am sure would hace been at least another $300 in labor. They lack professionalism and have now lost over $700 in business that just came to them. $700 might not be a huge amount to them but to us customers it is a large amount of money. They are not smart enough to realize that value of a customer and what my future business and positive advertisement could do for their profits in the future, Saddest piece is that I read a web review that said their service was terrible and was giving them the benefit of the doubt. So sad that it was correct. They also must not care enough to look at the web reviews to want to improve on complaints from lost customers.... read more

Horrible service departrment. Dropped off jet boat for repair 6/20/11, was told they could get it with a week. Started as soon as I arrived to drop off boat. I stood in line waiting to be helped while the guy behind the counter was ordering parts, then proceeded to have a 15 minute personal conversation with the person on the phone while I continued to wait. Finally some blonde lady came over and was a complete bitch to me because she was busy and annoyed she had to stop what she was doing to fill out my service order. Now 4 weeks later, boat still hasn't been looked at, I called everyday and was always told, "it's going in today, it's going it tonite, mechanic has it scheduled for today, we'll call you later today...." They always have an excuse as the entire boating season is passing by. Still hasn't been looked at. Finally picked it up and took to different repair shop. Do not use Ithaca Recreation Sports for service. read more
