First of all, they accepted reservations for 7 people which was a HUGE bonus. Their aperitivo menu is set up so you pick from a nice variety of cocktails, wine or beer then choose from 4 different choices of food. Vegetarian, Meat, Fish, etc. We thought they would be small bites but it ended up being large enough for a meal! And both the drinks and food were excellent. The highlight of my food was the crostini with mortadella and pistachio cream, but the mini burger, potato croquette and zucchini were also fantastic. We had great service too!

We wanted to sit outside so we were asked to go down to the Garden area. Felt like we were walking in a retro decor maze. We started with a couple of their house specialty cocktails-Palimini (refreshing, fruity) and Salt Garden (Bitter, savory). We weren't very hungry so we went with our Server's suggestion of meat and seafood Samplers. Tuna Tartare and the mini Burger (surprisingly) stood out. We also ordered a mini Steak Tartare which was exquisite. Fried Octopus appetizer was also tasty. Ordered the Caesar Salad with Salmon (wasn't possible to have just salad and no protein)-dressing was sweet compared to what we're used to. Their Salice Salentino was delicious! Service was attentive and engaged. Relaxed and retro vibe that was pleasantly surprising. Might very well be the coolest Wine/cocktail bar in Monti!

And let me tell you, it did not disappoint. I love the overall vibe, very dim with neon signs and a red and black theme. I reserved a bar seat and the bartenders were very friendly and welcoming. They treated me to a few little amuse bouches before I even had a chance to look at the (overflowing) options on the menu, and gave me a welcome shot. (They also gave me a parting shot!) Once I opened the menu, I found myself overwhelmed with choices. Honestly, every single cocktail sounded better than the next. After asking for advice from one of the bartenders, he recommended the Solar Ash, and he was not wrong. The mix of Mint Distilate, Pink Vermouth, Red Bell Pepper, and Strawberry was subtly sweet, subtly spicy, and not so subtly delicious. I was more than pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it. I can definitely see why this bar made it onto the 50 Best list. I make it a point to visit bars from the list in every city I can find them, and this was among my favorites yet. If you're in Rome and have the chance to go, don't sleep on it!

The service was so friendly, everyone greeted me with a smile and kind words. The bartender was so good, thoroughly explaining everything and had excellent recommendations for what to try. Their cocktail menu seems innovative but also classic and welcoming. I think there's something for everyone! I only tried their welcome snack as far as food, but even that was great. Their chips with a ketchup-link dipping sauce was so good. I just know the rest of their food has to also be amazing as well. Definitely check this place out if in Rome. I'd recommend making a reservation just to be safe, as I can't imagine this place not skyrocketing to fame and getting very busy!

The view is absolutely insane and you are able to see parts of the underground that you can't currently see from anywhere else. Our first round of drinks was impeccable. Drinks presented with smoke, powder overlays of the colosseum, just top notch presentation. Our second round of drinks was the same price, but had 0 presentation. They just handed us standard cups of cocktails on ice. It was very odd. The drinks were creative and fun. I'd either research ahead or ask your server, as a lot of ingredients and flavors were new to me. The snacks were also delish! They had plenty of mocktails along with NA wine. They lose a star both for the lazy presentation on the second round AND the reservation system. Their reservation portal is near impossible to use on an iPhone. I kept needing to click on things that I physically could not scroll to. I also made a reservation for October 6, then got a confirmation for June 12. I assumed it was a translation error, but I was charged for missing June 12 (which was 6 months ago and I made the reservation in October) and was unable to cancel it since it was in the past. I emailed them and they completely dismissed me. Nobody answered my calls. Nobody answered Instagram. I had to go in person and it was a whole thing. They didn't care at all about the error or my experience. I got a refund but they didn't even honor my reservation or apologize even though it was completely on them. I got lucky and was able to snag a new res last minute, and my experience wasn't acknowledged at all. So beware...
