The pilots were exceptional going to Rome and returning. We hardly felt the landing in Rome, it was so smooth. We returned to Miami in a bad storm and they did a great job landing as well. It is not their fault that we couldn't taxi to the gate for another 45 minutes. Honestly, I was just happy to be on the ground. The seats were horribly uncomfortable. I would never pick the same ones again. The middle seats were roomier. I found a way to sleep anyway. The flight out of Miami at 7:00 pm was best because within an hour, they fed us dinner and then I rested. The food is not the best. The ravioli was just okay. I had the meat on the way back and it was somewhat better. I would bring some fresh fruit or some snacks next time. The wine that they provide is very good. I was happy to have a glass of red wine before calling it a night. The return trip seemed so much longer because we were flying for 11 hours in the middle of the day. The flight attendants did their best to take care of us with beverages and snacks. A few movies later and we were on the ground. My only real complaint is that they know it's a long flight. Why not upgrade the seats to have more cushioning. I've been on busses with seats that are more comfortable than the one I sat in. read more

Would give it a zero if I could. Paid for an upgrade, my card got charged, and when I showed up at the airport, they changed to a smaller plane and downgraded me to my original class (economy premium). A month later, still no refund. Additionally, I had paid for preferred seating, and did not get the seats I paid for. When calling customer service, they are clueless. The website used for refunds keeps on giving errors. I need to speak with somebody competent from corporate. Thank you read more

My luggage , ITA staff left our luggage out in the rain. When I checked into my hotel I noticed everything in my luggage was wet and ruined from the die from everyone else's luggage. My first day in Rome was ruined. Exhausted from flying all night could not get any rest because I had to get new clothes. ITA takes no responsibility. I left the airport without checking inside my luggage first. My first two days in Rome were horrible because of this Airline @ita. read more

Don't get me wrong, business class was nice, but there were a few things I believe that they could have done a little bit better... the seats were nice and the food was good, but I couldn't say that about the service. The flight attendants were snippy when I asked for water. Don't get me wrong, I would hate to be awake for that red eye flight, but I think that I would at least have some grace. Next, luggage. We arrived to our carousal on time , and watched all of the other people's luggage get taken away. Then there were only 2 suitcases left; neither were ours. We waited for over an hour, and then we finally located our with our AirTag. read more

I would never fly again. I flew Chicago to Rome in April 2024. First off, they cancelled our flight to Rome about 36 hours before takeoff. Customer Service was very hit or miss. I had to call 5 different times to make sure we were on the flight at the same time the next day and 3/5 of the people I talked with were rude and not helpful. According to EU law, if this happens, the airline owes you a partial refund. ITA has made it impossible to get that. On their website and in the email they sent to us after the flight was cancelled, they provide an email to send your information. That email bounced back as no longer in service. I could forgive all of this if the flights were good. They were not. While they were on time and we arrived safe with our luggage, the rest of the flight was subpar. The toilet on *both* flights was held together with tape. The seats were difficult to adjust, with one of our footrests on the way home being completely broken. On the flight home, we also were fed shortly after getting on the plane at 9 am and then they turned off the lights and didn't feed us again for almost 8 hours. We got a small snack as we were descending. This was in a plane that was only 1/2 full. At one point, I used my call light because no attendants were to be found and no one ever came. read more

DO NOT FLY ITA AIRLINES! ITA airlines charged $240 for 1 extra piece of luggage. The website states the luggage fee is $90. There was no option to buy online in advance. At the counter they said it was more expensive than online. I called the representative with my ticket number and she admitted that it was impossible to purchase in advance and then went on to say if I had purchased online it would have been cheaper. So I reminded her that she just said it was not possible to purchase online and she said "Correct." SO I went around in circles again with the Catch 22 and she sounded like a scammer. I purchased the ticket through Delta and they are going to refund the overpayment. DO NOT FLY ITA AIRLINES! read more

(PLEASE READ COMPLETLY) ITA Airlines is by far a big name for a low cost airline that could use improvements. The one above average service is Customer Service which was on point. The airline lacks SERIOUS upgrades which would allow the customer to feel a bit more relaxed. Most of the cabin items were out-dated. Our flight to Rome was a serious process of time and exhaustion. The A/C was not as cold as it should have except for the last 20 min of the flight. Nonetheless, the experience reminded me of previous airlines that I traveled that lacked upgrades or had none for customer satisfaction, but compesensated in comfort specially on a long fight. Amenities like the in flight screen definitely needs an upgrade and if you are lucky probably worked. Some of the features on the screen that I had were hard to operate and required multiple touches.  However, when it finaly worked, the movie selection was quite a good one. The food was below expectation, so I recommend you eat heavy before departing to avoid disappointment. Breakfast was definitely a school day brown-bag worthy of a third-grade field-trip. I would highly recommend arriving super early to check-in and be prepared for the long flight wearing comfortable clothes appropriate for the destination. Other than what I mentioned, I do want to commend the flight-attendants for their efforts. This flight reminded me of a long ride on a yellow school-bus with wings. Checkings at both airports was good and efficient. The reason for the 3 stars is the totality of the circumstances on both trips. If not 4 stars would habe been my review. read more

Avoid at all costs! I was given a broken seat on a flight from Fll-Rome. Nothing on the seat worked including the tv, the incline, the call bell, etc. I called and sent an email and its airways did nothing to rectify the situation. On board the plane the employees claimed that a report would be filed.... read more

I like the service of ITA Airways at the Miami international airport. It was fast, even though I didn't do one online check-in since I did directly in the airport. At the terminal they tried to accommodate the large amount of people that were traveling, the best way they could do. I will only suggest to be a little bit more organized with the order that people can go in and maybe have someone to say it out loud because we couldn't hear which zone was next. Other than that everything was wonderful! read more

We experienced subpar experience in business class from Rome to LAX. They split service between experienced FA and an inexperience one from coach and were unlucky. Service slow and many needed to get up and go to galley simply to get water refills. Crew would congregate in front of front forward rest rooms and make it challeging to access and had a dismissive attitude from the beginning. Unprepared to unload at gate and male FA had to push through passengers abrubtly because noone else could manage opening doors! Save your $$ and stay away. read more

Our baggage was delayed 3 days and ITA Airways said they would reimburse clothes/toiletries purchased during that period. In fact they are required to do so by international law (Montreal Convention) and European regulation. 8 months later I still have no resolution. NEVER count on ITA Airways to do the right thing...even if they said would and are required by law. read more

Athens to a connection in Rome to SFO was on time, smooth with friendly energetic service on a new A350 with terrific crew. Friend in business class loved the meals and my economy meals were fine. We'd fly them again. Check in was a bit more involved than we're used to in the US. read more

Zero! Worst airlines ever! Was so excited to go to Italy and very happy the staff was there to fly ! I even brought a appreciation box of see's candy for the stewards upon boarding. But please Don't fly this airline! I was not in 1st class nor did I expect to be treat like I was but I paid for an upgraded seat, which they reassigned and had to get them back. We got a nice pouch of goodies but the seat are very uncomfortable, the service on plane poor, I had my service light on for 45 minutes and no one came, Had to go to back my self for water to take meds and told to serve myself off cart. So much for Covid safety as I touched cups and drinks along with other passengers. Got one service of dinner for a 13 hr flight and a courtesy pass out of small sandwich and a drink but one side got drink and the other got food. They only serviced half the plane. hmmm! Passengers inquired and told they don't have enough for everyone. You do Not get a digital boarding pass, required to go to front counter, I traveled 3 airports before Athens with no luggage problem on ita then in Athens the counter ground crew was so unprofessional and rude, so they want to charge you $100 for your carry on even if it meets requirement. I was half a kilo over and i refused to check it, so I grab my carryon removed my jacket and put it on, the agent had the gall to tell me I can't do that. I need to check it but now i meet 8kilo requirement. Grab my bag and went to gate. Shocked!!! Only to see gate staff pulling, weighing and checking size of other passages carryon ruthless! Just to make a 100 bucks. They nickel and dime you. Although I had an amazing trip, I was so disgusting to see how ita airlines treated their customer. Please read other reviews, wished I had. read more

Booked 2 flights from Paris to Rome with added luggage fees. Business Class. Plans changed. Called 4 days later to cancel for a trip that is end of May travel. Not possible. Only possible with Business Flex and I had booked Business Classic apparently. Terrible policy. Do not book with these scammers! read more

The staff was amazing the food and quality for what you're paying for was excellent went straight to Rome. Had a great time.

I flew on flight AZ 630 from Rome to Miami on October 2, 2023. The flight attendant in the back of the plane, Laura was the name given but I'm sure it was fake, completely ruined our experience. Myself and my best friend were the only 2 black people in her section and she purposely skipped us when passing out food. My friend walked to the back to tell her she didn't give us food and she snarkily replied "I know" as if she was annoyed. She left us feeling embarrassed and humiliated. We brought our concerns up to the cabin manager and the manager of the plane and they completely dismissed us to let us know that "racism is not possible." None of them cared about how we felt or acknowledged that Laura was wrong. If you know you are a bigot there's absolutely no reason you should be working a customer service job because obviously some of your customers will be black or other races. We will never fly ITA airways again and have advised everyone we know across all social media platforms to do the same. read more

ITA Airways - Dark haired flight attendant "Laura" - Airlines Near Me - Miami, Florida

This airline is criminal. I called ITA asking if they accept service animals into the UK and if they were able to carry my service dog in cabin, they told me they were able to carry my service dog in cabin with the documents I had. I booked my flights and contacted LHR with my flight details, who told me ITA do not have a licensee to carry service dogs in cabin. When I called back ITA airways to cancel my tickets they refused to help and refund my fair and take accountability of their mistake. Do not book with this airline, they have no real customer service to help with issues and don't care to help. read more

Anyone know someone at ITA-airways? They lost our luggage and refuse to help us over the phone. We made a claim at the airport and they said that we don't need a ticket number for the claim or what they call a PIR number but now they are insisting we need that for any assistance. They are rude when you call and when you ask for a manager they hang up on you. #ITAAirways read more

Absolutely a scam - you buy a premium economy ticket and they "codeshare" with Delta but put you in basic economy. This is not mentioned anywhere when purchasing on the website or even on the conformation email . Their call center said "Well their economy is like premium economy" - Calls to Albanian call center and absolutely no resolution. Its no wonder they went bankrupt and the government had to buy them. They constantly lose the luggage, they are rude and they sell you tickets that dont exist in that class. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! read more

Worse customer service experience. I void a purchased ticket in less than 6 hours and they assured me it won't be charges because I did it within the first 24 hrs. A month later I'm still trying to get my refund and no one knows or help me. Don't recommend this airline . read more

The flight from Boston to Rome was ok...no issues, but our 5 bags of luggage was never transferred from Rome to Trieste, so we were on a 7 day cruise without any luggage. We have tried to contact Ita Airlines and the Trieste Airport on multiple occasions to no avail. No thanks to anyone at Ita, we managed to get one bag in Trieste, and 2 more in Venice, but we are still missing 2 bags, one of which is my granddaughter's bag full of irreplaceable clothing items. Ita Airlines has been completely useless to get the bags THEY lost!!! We have gotten the run around and have had the files on these bags closed twice, to spite the fact we do not have the bags. I do not recommend using Ita Airlines at all...if you do, do not check your bags!!! read more

Communication does not exist with ITA they make Alitalia look like net jet . Trying to just change my login password and can't get the site to do that. Forget about looking into an existing reservation. I give them one year at best. Can't wait to finish my itinerary. read more

Having had an issue and missed the first leg of a long and expensive trip from Miami to Cagliari in business class, my entire flight including the return was cancelled without a chance of reschedule or refund of over $5000 even if the return is days from mow. I emphatically discourage anyone thinking to use this horrible company. I am saddened by the worsened state of the main airline of Italy. Stealing people's money like that shouldn't be allowed! I regret ever trusting them with my credit card details. read more

we flew ITA NY to Rome round trip. it served the worst food we ever ate, and there was enough for a bird. we did not see an attendant again for another 4 hours. they dont even offer water. before the end of the flight they bring u more food this time it was a ham and cheese on a roll that was about 4/5 inches long. i opened it up there was about a 1x3 inch piece of ham in it no cheese. its a real joke considering what they charge for a round trip. i have never been on an international flight where i couldn't buy a cocktail. the plain was great, but we wont be back. read more

Really bad customer service. We ended up changing the flights as even after paying extra for seat selection, we couldn't reserve the seats online and we're asked to do it at the airport. No consideration for a baby even though we paid extra for her seat. read more

I took a business class flight from London to Milan and when I arrived to get my luggage it didn't show up. The customer service said the plane was too heavy and they had to leave luggage in London. They had me fill out a paper report. The luggage did not show up that night and no one ansered the phone to let me know what was happening. The next day they didn't answer the phone but an automated system had no information for me. Finnally two days later they said my lugguge was in Milan and would be deliverd. It never came to my hotel that day, but finally three days after my flight it showd up at my hotel. When I opened my bag I found out that everything of any value was stolen out of my bag. My $8,000 Tom Ford leather jacket was gone as well as many other expensive pieces. I think they got at least $30-40 thousand worth of clothes. This is the worst airline I have ever flown. I will never fly on ITA again. read more
