This place is so fun! It's a Sweet Factory but with fresher candy and more specialty items. Their super-sized candies are cool, though not worth their price. They also have sections dedicated to Pez and Hello Kitty! Clean, organized, & well stocked. I like the size & layout of the store--it's sprawling. They stock a wide array of candies, but my boyfriend & I opted for all gummy everything--cherries for me, sharks for him. I also secretly picked up some gummy letters that I used to spell out our names because I'm just that corny of a girlfriend. A solid place to get a nice treat. Lots of variety for known candies and plenty of fun novelties. There wasn't anything especially crazy to us though so we settled for some of our favorite Jelly Bellies (Suck it, popcorn and licorice!) The store design is a little annoying if it's crowded since there are multiple areas that can only be reached and left through one path. We also stopped by the gelateria inside and got some delicious blood orange gelato which was a nice surprise on our way out. read more

So. Much. Candy! That pretty much sums it up for me. It is a cute, bright candy shop full of all your contemporary favorites. Like most major candy shops they have a wall of bulk jelly belly flavor dispensers and individual colored M&Ms as well. There are bulk dispensers around the shop with various other standard candies, including the giant, oversized, novelty standbys like Reese's, licorice, and gummy bears. They also sell novelty items like bandaids, candles, phone accessories. The staff are nice and helpful! And the location is right on the pier and they share space with an amazing gelato shop! It's a great place to grab some candy, and I do love me some candy, but I guess I was hoping for more hard to find, imported, gourmet, or local candy and get over my disappointment! That's what's influenced my score more than anything else. read more

My boyfriend and I decided to go on a nice date to the harbor and took me into It's Sugar to buy me something sweet and to get himself some coffee. It was incredibly busy and we waited in the line for ice cream for about 20 minutes. They only had one girl running the entire ice cream portion of the store and I felt incredibly bad for her. There were a couple of workers who would come out of the back (I'm not sure if they were elsewhere in the store or what) but they would eventually just leave her to be by herself again. When we reached the front counter my boyfriend ordered an iced coffee. The poor girl grabbed 3 other people because she didn't know how to make it and it, by the taste of it, her other coworkers had no idea either. He got his coffee, tasted one sip and had me taste it as well. His ICED coffee was warm so I told him to back in and ask them to remake it because we waited to long. He came back out 30 seconds later with a cup of ice... Safe to say that turned me off from the entire place, which is quite a shame because it looked so cool inside. That type of customer service is.. just ridiculous. read more

This place is impressive. I came here this weekend while walking around the inner harbor and eating at every place imaginable. There are so many treats to choose from (my eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach). They have candy from when I was a kid, 5lb chocolate covered gummy bears, all the sour strings and flavors you could possibly think of, big boxes of Starburst with just the pink and reds (the most exciting), and tons more. I just found out they have a website with more sweet treats that will make as great sentimental gifts when you want to find that standout gift for a coworker, etc. Cool place - I recommend checking out. read more

Not your run of the milll candy shop. From Willy Wonka to Harry Potter and Hello Kitty, It's Sugar manages to pack a history of sugar memorables into one store. The selection is vast and they have probably the largest selection of Jelly belly's in Baltimore. The layout of the store isn't as bright as I hoped but the staff was available. In the corner you will find ice cream or hot drinks to go. It's a great stop for kids or adults who looove sugar. I am giving it 3 stars since the store could use an update. read more

Today I went into the store at the Baltimore Harbor and I experienced a very rude store manager.He started off telling my kid to close the door.."you are letting the heat out"..okay she was holding the door for all of us.I really thought he was being sarcastic but I was so wrong. The manager had another altercation with another member of my party as well..They really got into it with the security standing in and being just as rude as the manager..This store manager was very rude and really needs to be retrained on customer service.I will not be visiting one of my "used" to be favorite store..Just awful and sad! read more

Every time we're at Harborplace, I just HAVE to hit up IT'SUGAR. Remember all those candy favorites you had as a child and from the days of yore? You can bet they're making an encore appearance here. The candy store has two "levels" - one for the novelty stuff and another for most of hte bulk candies. And of course, novelty stuff is EVERYWHERE you look.... on displays, on the walls, on the staff, and right in front of you at every turn. They have every color of M&M's and flavor of Jelly Belly's you could want, and given the location, the prices aren't that bad. They also have gigantic sizes of popular candies like Twizzlers, Hershey Bars, and jawbreakers. If you have a serious candy lover in your life (or even if it's YOU, don't worry, we won't tell!) be sure to pick them up something yummy from IT'SUGAR. read more

Cool candy shop! It has quite a bit of variety. Very cute stuff, they have various gummy bears favors, candy sushi, marshmallow fries, unique seasoned bug candies, etc. It's a fun stop for kids and adults alike! read more

The selection was great, and laid out well. The kid at the register was passive aggressive, and got a little nasty when I very politely refused to provide my email. It took three exchanges to convince him that I was not doing this. In California, that would be against the law.... Candy shops are a dime a dozen, so customer service is your differentiator. read more

I really hate that people can stuff their hands in the bins. Grown adults do it as much as kids so I don't buy from the bins that r overpriced anyway. It's a bright colorful fun store but expect to pay 3 times more here then anywhere else. read more

Im so upset by my visit to It'Sugar this evening. Some friends and their children were going to waste some money on overpriced candy. We arrived at the store and my daughter held the door open so that 9 of us could enter the store. I the slow one, was the last one to enter. As I entered I learned the employee, Eric had scolded my child for holding the door. Not one to rush to judgement I asked what was going on. Eric said they were trying to keep the heat in. Understandable, but I honestly thought he was being sarcastic. I asked was he cold, he answered yes aren't you? I said no, and gave him the side eye (I wasn't cold because I was wearing a really warm, yet cute jacket). Eric and I stared at each other (like a dance off but just staring) for about 10 seconds and had a small audience. I walked away because I really couldn't believe an employee would really be so angry about being chilly. (Maybe he was using some new psychology in customer service where I would recognize his alpha status and slink away.) Although my friend suggested we take our business elsewhere, our group stayed and browsed. Dumb decision. The whole time we were in the store I was watched the children like a shadow to make sure they didn't have too much fun or touch anything. I was snapped out of my almost shopping when I hear the same guy (Eric) yelling at a girl to put an item back. To be fair he was screaming, but he had some volume and he made it clear he wasn't joking. The young girl struggled to put a large teddy bear wearing a candy bikini on a top shelf. Another employee, who wore an It'Sugar shirt (who clarified that he didn't work for the guy, he had his own company) joins in and to also puts the challenge out to see if the girl can replace the item. The girl (bless her heart) was trying to put the item back and was being a great sport, in light of everyone was now watching because of all the attention being brought to her. In am not sure I registered what was happening, you know people don't usually go to stores to feel humiliated. My friend who was near the employee let him know his attitude was terrible. Eric thought otherwise. Apparently he deals with this all day?? I didn't hear the entire conversation but he then told her to leave the store. Yup, he said to leave. He did clarify he was the boss, the manager. He didn't own the company but he was in charge. I'm not sure what the other man's role was on the store but it was clear he had his own business. I didn't get the message the first time, but it punched me in the face now. I told my kid to let's go. She was confused and disappointed that she could not purchase the items that she wanted, but I explained that we didn't need to shop somewhere we weren't welcome. This candy store visit was definitely not sweet. I hope Eric doesn't scare any more little girls. I also hope the corporate office looks into the heating issue that occurs when the door is opened for customers to enter and exit. Sadly It'Sugar is no longer on our family's list of must-go places when we visit Baltimore. read more

It would have been a great experience, if one of the cashiers hadn't taken my daughter too much money. She only had one item, but later when we checked the receipt it read two! The thing that she bought AND a bubble gum. She lost money and her trust! We are so disappointed! read more

If you have a condition where being in the presence of too much candy can cause an overload in your heart and cause death, then this is not the store for you. If you do not have this preexisting condition, then what are you doing at home! Get off your computer and go enjoy the largest assortment of jelly beans and m&ms. Giant gummy bears, gummy worms, and chocolate bars! This is literal heaven for any kid on the face of the earth. But why do I give this only 3 stars? The price. They have such a unique assortment, but can get a bit pricey. So make sure to predetermine the amount you want to spend and ONLY WALK INTO THE STORE WITH THAT AMOUNT OF MONEY.
