Acceptable service but long wait times when busy. Pork buns both streamed and baked are still good. Everything else seems to have gone down in quality. Took the family here for lunch on a Saturday, and it was top-notch! Stopped in for a Saturday lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The wait staff was super nice and efficient. A whole pot of green tea at the table is always a good sign. Naturally, we over faced ourselves, but gladly so. My husband had the chicken noodle soup and raved about the broth- this hasn't happened since we moved to ABQ. The duck with rice was pretty solid. I visited during lunch on a Saturday and it wasn't too busy. I'm not sure how busy the place is during the week. The ambiance is very casual and the dining area is spacious. Beautiful decor and friendly staff. It took a while to make a decision of what I wanted to try. Because to be honest, I haven't had dim sum in such a long time that I kind of forgot what everything tasted like. But after a while, I was able to pick out just a few items to try. Got to try the pork shumai, pan fried chive dumplings and potstickers. All were fantastic in flavor and filled me up. You could definitely go a little bit extra and order the other side of the menu that offers noodles, rice, soup and bbq. But for today, I just got to try those items. This is the second time we have gone to IT DimSum. We should have returned sooner because the food is delicious. I remember it was good however yesterday it was fantastic. We had several items and they were all delicious. I like the puffy shrimp enough to order it again. My taste buds were in heaven as I have had trouble with taste since having Covid. Inspired by a New York friend's recent lunch in Chinatown, I did a local search and was pleasantly surprised to find several choices. Since I had errands in the area, It Dimsum became my lunch choice. When you're seated, you're handed a laminated menu with pictures and descriptions of the various noodles, dumplings, and dessert options. I chose deep-fried meat balls, seaweed salad, and baked BBQ pork buns. They also offer congee, soups, noodles, roast duck and pork, and fried rice. I was very pleased with my selections, which are served as they are finished cooking. The seaweed salad is a good basic version of this dish and made a nice companion to the meats. The pork buns are brushed with a tasty sweet glaze which contrasts beautifully with the savory pork filling. The meat balls arrived last - piping hot, crispy on the outside and filled with ground pork in what tasted like a five-spice sauce. We were the first customers of the day. We sat at a tight table in the front by the corner window. The service was scattered. They gave us 2 forks and 2 sets of chop sticks, 3 napkins, and no straws for 4 people. We went up and self served the forks off the service counter, when our request went undone. They forgot the steamed white rice and we had to go up to the service counter to ask for it, as they never checked back in to see how we were doing. The pot stickers and dim sum were fine. The Chinese broccoli was way undercooked. We had asked for regular broccoli that was in other dishes we had ordered , but was told that it was unavailable as a side, only the Chinese broccoli. The noodle soup with dim sum was shrimp flavored, which was not specified and I have a shellfish allergy. Others picked at it, eating the noodles. The beef noodle dish with broccoli and bean sprouts was the best bet. The iced tea was so incredibly strong and bitter. We needed a ton of sugar to make it palatable. If someone had not been craving dim sum and won tons, we might have chosen a different restaurant for our outing today. The food is okay, but they need to get their service improved. read more

We ordered seaweed salad (my fave), red bean sesame ball, shrimp har go, steamed beef ball, steamed BBQ beef bun (bao), Chinese broccoli, fried shrimp ball, potstickers, and mushroom shumai. Our favorites were the seaweed salad, steamed BBQ pork buns, potstickers, and mushroom shumai. Everything was well cooked and tasty, ordering and picking up was simple and efficient, the staff were very friendly and polite, and the restaurant is spotlessly clean. In addition to the dim sum offerings, the restaurant also offers entrees such as various BBQ, noodle soups, ho fun, congees, and fried rice. We will have to order again to try some of the entrees. I love the wide variety of offerings and the fact that everything tastes very fresh. Sadly, I was in DIM SUM HEAVEN at first. And it's close to my home. I've been wanting to try this new place for a while. I've had Dim Sum in LA's Chinatown also. The outside is very plain and the inside is modern. So don't let this fool you because you'll be very impressed by the quality and flavor of some of the food. Plenty of seating inside. Good music playing. No alcohol is served. The menu is a picture of all the various Dim Sum dishes that you mark with a Dry Erase marker. Flip it over and you have you typical Chinese dishes so I also got a delicious Pork Fried Rice to go with the various Dim Sum dishes. However, I do NOT recommend the Chicken Low Mein Noodle dish. The chicken meat was not the meat but mostly the chicken "skin" (90%) which I found disgusting and tasted awful. The green leafy vegetable in it was overcooked and slimy with too much sauce and altogether just could not finish it. I didn't even want to take it home. I picked out all the chicken pieces and it was all "skin." I spoke to the young woman, maybe the owner, showed her the chicken dish and how dissatisfied I was with it. The best you're going to get in Albuquerque out of anything Hong Kong related. Unfortunately, there isn't much in Albuquerque. The good: - Congee - Beef Chow Fun The meh: - Most of the Dim Sum The Bad: - Duck - Salted Fish Fried Rice There's only 3 dimsum places in Albuqeurque: IT Dim Sum, Ming Dynasty, and Sumo Sushi. In my opinion IT Dim Sum takes the crown for being the best. But, I only think it's ok. I've ordered the duck a few times and it wasn't terrible but I wouldn't say it was good. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that sourcing and roasting a duck in Albuquerque is hard. But the dish we got was small and missing most of the meaty parts. The skin was a bit too chewy and fatty. One time we went the skin and meat was incredibly dry and obviously put back into an oven after a while. Overall, I would only order the duck if you really really want duck. If not, wait until you on vacation to a city with actual competition. The dim sum itself, was only ok. I'm not going to compare them to LA standards, but a lot of the dim sum felt like it was reheated or was frozen. There was a few times where I could taste the freezer burn in the siu mai. The chicken feet too felt off, maybe because not many people order it but it just didn't feel right. The stick rice was a joke. Taste wise it was ok, but when they bough it I thought it was a toy. I've never seen such a small portion size for sticky rice before in my life. For the prices they're charging, I expected better. Then the fried rice, ooh the fried rice. I saw Salted Fish Fried Rice on the menu and got excited. It's one of my favorite dishes of all time that I can't cook at home (my roommates would hate the smell of salted fish). But when it arrived the rice was soggy and there was barely any salted fish in there. I took a few bits and just left it. I was so excited and got let down. The saving grace of the meal was the Beef Chow Fun. A classic in Hong Kong cuisine and foundation of any HK related restaurant in America. It wasn't mind blowing but it's one of those dishes that hits the spot and just keeps the chopsticks moving. I've also had a chance to try their congee. Good stuff, no complaints here. read more

Amazing find! Who would have thought that in an unassuming suburban strip mall they would make dim sum better than the big established places in San Francisco and New York City (both of which we have lived by). We ordered online from the car, road tripping on the highway from Santa Fe, and arrived just as they opened, but they had been working on our order for the previous 20 minutes before opening so the whole order was ready immediately. The har got steamed shrimp dumplings had super fresh shrimp and nice thin wrappers. The steamed pork dumplings were among the best xiao long bao we have had, with real broth inside and plenty of meat. Shrimp rice crepes had tons of shrimp. Fried Shrimp balls were very lightly fried and not at all greasy. Only disappointment is that we didn't see in the online menu any soft tofu with sweet ginger sauce, one of our classic dim sum favorites, though they otherwise have a huge dim sum menu on the par of the best big city Chinatown places. I've been back a few times since July and I still believe the food is probably somewhere between 3.5-4 stars. They get a bump up to 4 stars for serving authentic dimsum in Albuquerque where options are limited. I've tried almost every menu item on their menu. They are all authentic and hit the spot when the urge to yumcha strikes. Both were very delicious, you have to eat the dumplings while they are hot, so eat them first. I also got squid to go for my husband, which held up really well with the "across town" drive home. Good fresh food, good service but unfortunately way too noisy. unfortunately this is another restaurant that doesn't seem to understand that a loud dining experience is not pleasant. solid parallel walls, concrete floors, and hard ceilings make a roar that is very difficult to hold a private conversation in. I love the concept of restaurant that only serves dimsum and all the time i.e. during its entire operating hours. I grew up only being able to eat dimsum for brunch time during the weekends. Unfortunately the dimsum here is just ok. It's not great and I ordered about 4 different dishes. I came for an early dinner on a weekend day and it wasn't packed at all. No issues getting a seat and the menu has all the traditional dimsum dishes. Ordered some tea with it and the tea wasn't all that great either.
