Don't do it!! They smile to your face and stab you in the back. I had my daughter move me out of the storage unit before the rental payment came due. Six days later, the facility called and informed me I was late on my payment. I informed the manager that I had moved out. She said it had a lock on it. Unfortunately my daughter left the lock on the unit. I informed the manager that I could come the next morning to take off the lock. She said she could prorate the rent for the time the lock was on unit but I had to pay money before I could remove the lock. I told her I wouldn't have it for 3 weeks but I could remove the lock so she could re-rent the unit. She said she had to call her district manager and would call me back. Six days later, I get a letter from a collection agency demanding $122. One month's rent would have been $52. The unit was empty so certainly they wouldn't charge me insurance. I don't know what all the demanded money was for but it certainly wasn't equal to six days of prorated rent or even a full month of rent. I never got a call back from the manager and now am being charged a ridiculous unfounded amount of rent. I still am not 15 days late which is when they lock you out and charge a lock out fee. I was doing everything I could to be a decent human being. If you want to do business with fair decent people, don't use this facility. They are "in my opinion" , unscrupulous. Is the rental business doing that poorly that they have to rip people off? And don't forget the smile that comes with it. Please inform all your friends and family of the business practices of istorage madison jetplex. Oh I almost forgot. It is istorage corporate as well. I called to inform them what happened. They apologized for the actions of the manager but took no action to correct the overcharging scam. read more
