Simply Self Storage was dirty (they never swept the common/ hall areas), always had broken/missing wheel carts, very poor lighting, poor security, broken elevators, freezing conditions in winter (and open to elements), and expensive for what you get. 495 Storage is nothing like it, and Cindy and Andrea are pleasant, professional, and hard workers. I only wish that they have 24 hour access to units by customers, which they don't. I'll stay with 495 Storage for now. Note: 495 Storage (545 Clark Rd, Tewksbury, MA) became CubeSmart sometime during 2014. The facilities are basically the same, and staff are friendly enough. I feel my personal property is safe and secure, and the facility is clean. Update On June 2016: Received notice in mail on a postcard that their prices are going up in 2 weeks at a 17 percent increase. Place (Cube Smart) was not cheap before, but is getting ridiculous now and not acceptable. The recent increase is 6-7 times the rate of the national inflation. What gives?

DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! My account was due on the 5th…read more It had been ONLY 4 DAYS, and the older bald man working there locked my unit after I told him I would pay on my next paycheck. He refused to unlock it, so I asked him to show me the policy regarding lockouts. He had to actually read the policy himself, and guess what it said? "All tenants 45 days late will be locked out." FORTY-FIVE DAYS. Not 4. You should have seen the look on his face when he realized he was wrong. He was refusing to unlock my unit over $50 when I was only FOUR DAYS late, even though their own policy clearly states that tenants are locked out after 45 days late. In the end, he had to unlock my unit because he was completely wrong. And this isn't even the first time he's gotten their policies wrong. I remember when he tried increasing my rent after I had only been there for TWO MONTHS. He kept telling me they raise the rent after three months, even though I hadn't even been there for three months! These people seem so money-hungry and desperate for $50 that they'll be petty enough to lock someone's storage unit after FOUR DAYS, even when they have a written policy that clearly says otherwise. Maybe he should read the policies before trying to enforce them.
