This place is epic, they have everything and you can't go 2 aisles without someone trying to help you

If you are going to Blatantly racially profile your customers. At least have the ability to be good at it. Watching me intensely and sending a store directly to me.. where he's standing less than 2 inches from me and gets right in my face. It was so blatant he didn't even say may I help you? He said what are you looking for? all while holding his radio and taking orders from his masters. The whole experience is pretty outrageous. Pretty gross situation. I totally hate coming to the store. The store has a history of mistreating certain Customers. But I will be putting a word out this time.. how can they improve? The first step would be if they are going to profile people they should learn the types of things that can help identify someone who has criminal intentions versus a customer looking for marine epoxy. Which is going on colour is an ignorant and ineffective way to cut down on store crime. Mis perceiving people ethnicity is also a problem and there could be legal issues when it comes to the heavy-handed nature of their profiling. read more

Ace is a great neighborhood hardware store and this one is not an exception. Each time I stop by, I can easily find help. It is just the right size to find supplies for your DIY projects. Ace was the only place that could duplicate my car key. The larger chains could not or would not take the time to find a match. read more

They aren't open at the posted hours. I arrived an hour and a half before "closing time" and was met with a locked door.

I love a good ACE hardware store! They usually have everything you could possibly want from a variety of paints, houseware/giftware items, to home improvement and hardware/tools. It's always a fun place to browse! My purpose visiting this store to day was to find sweet potato vine for my hanging baskets. I don't think I've ever had a successful trip there! They don't have anything in stock and their employees are not helpful at anything other than saying hello. Not to mention they are way overpriced and made the effort a year ago to go on Facebook at post that they had My Pillows in stock : super tacky. read more

The store is very clean and organized.. the staff is knowledgeable and helpful plus very friendly.. the garden department is looking so much better now that Josh is the manager.. it used to have the same stuff all the time and now there is a very cool and different variety. ace hardware is great but the worker aeson was very rude to my grandfather and he is old. they shouldn't hire teens that are rude to are elders and all customers but over all the service is great but i don't like the aeson dude and wouldn't come back. read more

Came here after work with a friend to browse the selections. Not only did the staff follow me everywhere in the store watching me. As I went to checkout the lady told me you look like your up to no good? I mean really is this how you treat customers judging them by appearance. Made me feel unwelcomed. We recently purchased an older home in the area and seem to constantly be needing something from the hardware store. We have been very impressed with this store --they've had everything we've needed and the people there have been unfailingly helpful and friendly. I have no reservations about recommending this We continue to appreciate the great selection and helpful staff at Islands Ace Hardware. We stopped in recently for a replacement bulb for an outdoor spotlight and ended up getting a great tutorial on LED bulbs, wattage, etc. Everyone we've dealt with there over the past two years has been similarly helpful and enthusiastic. read more

This small hardware store has it all. They have an extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff. They have a variety of trendy and not so trendy items from the latest in Green Egg items to some really cute clothing . They even carry Lazy One Pajamas and Columbia shirts. It is my go to place when I have a last minute gift and need a darling card. Best of all they have the retired County Agent Ed on staff three days a week who will answer any of your gardening questions Professionally. Spent over $250 there and got home and a$24 item was missing. Called and they looked for it, but it was not found... said they would continue to look and call back... they did not... I'm assuming the person behind me received it. A bit disheartening, we always support our local stores, but, it would def be here through amazon or even home depot... ordered through amazon and it was cheaper.... just disappointed.... thought they would do better.... read more

Old negative reviews should be removed, they don't apply to this Ace, if they ever did. I have always been treated like royalty here by all staff, and never had any issues with returns. This reminds me of the great Ace stores in the Central Coast of California. I only go to HD for a quick small item as they are just blocks from my house. Anything else, I go here. read more

Very Friendly Staff, Nice selection They have lots of grills, plants, and garden supplies, and even a Postal counter. If I had to pick between driving here or going to the Victory drive home depot, I would drive right past home depot and keep going to here. I think the only thing they don't sell is wood. Quick tip: Don't go on the weekend, the employees will drive you nuts asking you if you need help one right after the other. read more

Terribly staffed. Cashiers are confused and obviously stressed. Seems to be an upper management issue as I've heard them speak in fear of returning items for customers. Their return policy is garbage. Just don't. I won't shop there unless I have no other options, frankly. I am a 40 year old female who mainly shops in the women's and gifts areas of the store. And don't DARE unfold a t shirt to look at it - they'll follow you and glare. Not kidding - just go try it sometime. read more

unfriendly people if you have a problem, it is never their mistake. I purchased the same paint on two separate occassions, (mixed to order) the colors were not the same, i brought it back and showed them the different formula on the cans and the different color on the paint chip on the top of the cans. They looked at me and said they were the same color. And they couldn't just take back paint from people. I mean, it was wrongly mixed, I wasn't asking for the labor for my painter, just the right color in replacement. quess it is asking too much to expect them to do the right thing. read more

In contrast to the other review, I love this ACE Hardware. Staff is always friendly and helpful as one would expect in a store like this. Prices tend to be higher than the big chain home improvement stores but I feel better shopping here. Also, if you are looking for something the big hardware stores don't have, ACE always seems to have it. read more

Very disgusted.. I came to ladies night on Thursday Evening my name was called either I didn't hear it or I had left at that time. I came in this morning and was told I was not present. So they called another person for my prize. However there were several bags left. They ask.my phone number. She looked and said no we put your name back and drew another name. this us not right. Then why do I provide a phone number. If you aren't going to call me?. That is entirely messed up. And my shopping experience has been greatly effected. it's not the prize I won its the fact that I did came shopped in an over abundant t crowd. Made my purchases but you have my prize away to someone else you thought was more deserving. I am offensive and really disappointed in Ace a hardware period . To begin with, I shop there are somewhat regularly. Floor staff are very helpful in guiding you towards the product that you are seeking. And likewise in the garden department. Over all staff show a great interest in helping you find what you are looking for. The problem comes when you are ready to return something that did not work out for you. These returns require a manager's signature. The manager is called from whatever part of the store he or she is in and come to meet with you face-to-face to interrogate you about the product and why you are bringing it in. The only simple return can be made with something unopened, otherwise prepare for an inquiry and this inquiry does not have the same friendly feeling that that helpful store person had when he or she was helping you find your product. I purchased an out door flood light on-off Sensor a few weeks ago to regulate an outdoor floodlight. Before I got home I realized that if I used this item and it did not perform properly, I would be interrogated by a manager not going out of his way to respect my position. So I kept the item packaged as it was and headed to Home Depot, where I know I could return the item with no questions asked. I then returned the unopened item to Ace, and told the clerk I was returning it after buying the same item at Home Depot, because the extra drive was worth forgoing the interrogation that I would have to receive when I returned it. If you are certain you will not be needing to return your item, it's a great place to shop. Otherwise, beware!!2 read more

If it weren't convenient I would never shop at this Ace. Staff is helpful but if you need to return something you will deal with an interrogation by a rude manager. I bought a galvanized tee and when I installed it the seam was split and leaked water. When I went back to swap it out (20 minutes after I bought it) they gave me the 3rd degree because it had been used. I asked how I was supposed to know it was broken without installing it. Rather than apologizing for selling me a defective product, I got the third degree. I finally got frustrated and asked if they were honoring the return (swap for the same item) of a defective product or not. He told the cashier to let me swap it out and walked off. Rude! I still shop here some because of the convenience, but only small items. Anything big, I drive to Home Depot. read more

I bought items from their camping section and I wanted to return them but because I bought them before the storm they are considered storm items.so I'm not allow to return the items...yet if the items were bought any other time of year it would be allowed to be returned. I found this to be the best hardware store that I have ever dealt with. I was rebuilding a sailboat during the winter and spring of 2011, commuting weekends from Florida. Thus, I came to them frequently for hardware and supplies (stainless fasteners, solvents, etc, etc). The staff was incredibly helpful, and they had a huge stock. This is far better than any hardware, including my local Ace. Top rating from me! read more

I'm surprised to read negative comments here. I just have never had anything but a positive experience there personally. The staff is always helpful when I have been, and knowledgeable as well. The prices may be a little higher on some things, but not by much, and I feel the helpful, knowledgeable people outweigh the slightly higher costs. Also, as someone mentioned, they seem to have small odds and ends (and u can buy individual screws, bolts, etc. rather than a whole box) that u cannot find at the big stores. I probably end up there 2x a week for some odd or end. read more

I shop at this location quite often and always find the staff courteous and helpful. With that said the return policy is disgraceful I bought a $800.00 generator for Hurricane matthew the day before it hit. I used it for two days and it locked. I took the generator back not looking for a refund, but an exchange. The manager said they have mechanic on staff that could take a look at it. After a few days I contacted store and spoke with the mechanic and he said he did not see any user error, but could not get it started either, After speaking with him and a couple of managers I was the told store could not warranty, refund, or exchange the machine or help in any way because they are not a licenced dealer of the generac generators. If you don't have the integrity to stand by the products you sell DON'T SELL THEM!!! I HAD THIS GENERATOR OFFOR 3 DAYS!!! I would never by an major piece of equipment from this store. read more
