I was looking for a hot yoga studio and I found a gem . I've practiced many types of yoga and Bikram is the hardest. Antoinette the instructor was fantastic. She had tons of experience. I loved her class. I got a Groupon deal but actually if you go to their island yoga Coronado website, they have a better deal. Stephanie the owner was so inviting and so on top of everything. She messaged me after I took the class to ask how I was feeling. Wow! That's great customer service. People who go above and beyond are rare. Stephanie so sweet to message me after the class. I can't wait to take there other classes, it's not only Bikram yoga. Island yoga Coronado has a bunch of different classes. It's so great when you find a place that is so hospitable. The other people in the class were so nice too. I felt very comfortable. Get ready to sweat and it's a must try. I will add that it's across the del Coronado hotel and so close to the beach, love it!!!! read more

I moved to the area from New Jersey after practicing at the same yoga studio for 11 years, and I was honestly heartbroken to leave it behind. Finding a new studio that could fill that void felt like a tall order, but Island Yoga has done exactly that and more. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed. The community here is warm, supportive, and genuinely kind. It's clear that everyone who practices here cares about both their practice and each other. Stephanie is an incredible instructor, her energy, guidance, and knowledge are next level. I've been especially grateful to find both Bikram yoga and Hot Inferno Pilates classes offered. Island Yoga has quickly become my new yoga home. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a strong, vibrant, and welcoming yoga community. And, for a bonus, this studio gives beautiful views of Hotel Del Coronado. read more

I highly recommend Island Yoga. I've taken both Yoga and Pilates classes here, and every experience has been wonderful. To me, a yoga studio is more than a place to exercise--it's a place to feel kindness, respect, and empathy. Every instructor I've met embodies these qualities, along with excellent instruction. This is especially true for Stephanie, the owner. Classes are welcoming for all levels. Instructors guide beginners with care, while more advanced students get a challenging, fulfilling practice. All of this--just a stone's throw from one of the most beautiful beaches in the U.S.! read more

You must try Island Yoga Coronado! I recently rekindled my Bikram practice after several years off. I went to a 60m session with Shane this weekend and it was superb. Shane is professional, attentive and full of pure yogi energy - all brought to you in a super clean, and hot facility. I am dying to return, try more classes. Stephanie truly runs a gem of a yoga studio. Thank you. read more

Love this studio! I chose the 7-day traveler package which comes with a mat and towel, so convenient for me. I practiced four days, two of which were with Shane; one 90 minute and one 60 minute Bikram. She is a great teacher and very talented! 10/10 recommend. read more

I visit every summer and this studio makes my trip. The infrared lights really turn up the level of hot yoga. You leave feeling incredible. Has a great mix of instructors and classes. I recently joined Island Yoga and I am really enjoying it. I haven taken 2 classes with Mira and she is great. She is very patient and polite. Please try her class. I like her yoga form instructions. I am new to Bikram Yoga and it is really helping me. I highly recommend Island Yoga. read more

I can't keep my praise a secret any longer. I have been practicing yoga at this Coronado Island gem for over three years & it has not only transformed my mind and body, but created a community of like-minded yogis of all ages and fitness levels. The owner, Steph, is hands-on and genuinely cares about everyone who steps through the door - local or visitor. The studio is pristine (with none of the usual hot yoga funky smell) & there's no better vantage point than looking out the window at the palm trees. Class sizes are always manageable, but best to book online to secure a spot. I'll be a lifetime member at IslandYoga & look forward to seeing new faces there! read more

Island Yoga - That's me! It really works!!! - Yoga Near Me - Coronado, California

I just love Island Yoga. The instructors there are truly committed to making sure you have a good experience doing the Bikram Hot Yoga. It's the cleanest of all the Bikram studios in San Diego county. You have a view of the Hotel Del Coronado as you're doing yoga and it doesn't get any better than that. The room is always good and hot the way I like it. I highly recommend doing hot yoga at this studio. read more

True bikram yoga studio. A rare gem to be found in san diego. Great heat and humidity. Solid instruction. Its compact but well organized.

This place is a gem- so happy to recommend this studio. Caring, fun staff and a great overall experience. I highly recommend this for anyone open to trying (or who loves) hot yoga! read more

I live in Coronado and Las Vegas Had an amazing class of Bikram yoga on top of the roof facing the ocean with one of the best instructors !!! Her name is Gail! I highly recommend Island yoga in Coronado!!! read more

Great studio. The Pilates class is so fun! Great music choice and the instructor is amazing! Definitely worth the drive over the bridge!!!!

Love this place! Nice size, good energy, Barbara is an excellent instructor The think I like most, is the heat. It is a clean, dry heat that allows sweat to cool you down. Too much humidity is dangerous. The people are nice, very focused but all different levels, some new, some veterans all welcome. This is a great place to start doing yoga or keep doing it Bikram Yoga has helped me so much in staying healthy and detoxing by sweat Have fun there - and drink lots of water :-) read more

I have been going for over a year now and went from novice to decent! Love all the classes: hot yoga, yin yoga, power yoga, and pilates. They keep me in shape! Temporary class location in Spreckels park very nice, it's actually a nice change to be outside, and there is plenty of shade, parking and restrooms! Try it! read more

A wonderful oasis coupled with a supportive happy community. I appreciate the encourging professional staff. The 9 o'clock classes ROCK.

Love this studio! I'm so grateful they are open! I have a shoulder injury and taking the bikram & yin classes have helped so much! Stephanie is so kind & amazing at offering modifications for my injury & it has helped so much!! Thank you!! read more

Island Yoga is simply the best! My sister and I did a private beachfront session with Stephanie (the owner) for my birthday last month! From the initial booking to actually receiving the service, Stephanie was so amazing. Genuine customer service and sos thoughtful throughout all communications. Once we got to the beach the day of, she had everything set up as we went through a 60 min yin yoga class. She was so calming, thorough, and offered great advice for deep stretching. So much so that both my sister and I have begun to incorporate one of the moves into our daily stretching routine. We are fully planning on making this a quarterly event. Stephanie's private yoga was definitely one of the highlights of my birthday and I would absolutely recommend her and this studio to anyone looking for a peaceful and fulfilled yoga experience! Thank you!!! read more

Island Yoga is my "happy place." The atmosphere is an oasis from this busy world. There are few places that offer quality protection from the speed and noise of today's climate. I am deeply grateful each time I am able to escape to Island Yoga. It feels like a mini-retreat that allows me to leave feeling energized, healed and ready for all that life throws at me. Thank you to Stephanie and all the guides that welcome me through all the ups and downs of life. read more

You have to take Judith's class! She is an amazing instructor! Such a great full body workout. The heat makes the workout even more intense. I would definitely recommend! read more

WORSE yoga studio ever!!!!! The instructor Barbara was the WORST "instructor" I've ever come across in the yoga world. Before class started she asked if I had ever done yoga and I told her I had for 7 years so she put me in the front. Literally 10 seconds in she scolded me and told me I had never done this before and to go to the back of the room. I should have left right there and then to be honest. I continued the class and she kept scolding me throughout the entire class. Not just me but to other people as well. Including a guy that was an instructor over at core power and she even said to him "how would you feel if I went to your class and didn't listen to you". She was horrible! I've been practicing for years and not once have I ever come across a yoga instructor like this. Seeing by other reviews it's happened to others as well. read more

It does not smell like a Bikram studio - that was enough to get me to purchase an annual membership. The studio is tiny but clean, welcoming and convenient. However, the physical space is not what makes a yoga studio; the instructors are the key factor. Coronado Hot Yoga has a wonderful mix of instructors, all of whom have helped to strengthen and grow my practice. I have learned a great deal from Vince, Eric and Mira but Barbara is my absolute favorite. I practice Bikram rather than any other type of yoga because of its intensity and precision. Barbara embodies these qualities. She will intuitively find your edge and push you to it. During her high energy classes she has guided me to epiphanies, provided micro-corrections, told me to stop being lazy and overall has improved my practice beyond measure. All of the CHY instructors are knowledgeable, technically sound and truly compassionate. read more

I've been coming here for months and figured that it was time to write my review. I have been practicing yoga on and off for since 2010, and I first found out about this place by purchasing their groupon. I remember feeling uncertain when I first arrived because it's a fairly small studio (I normally like to hide towards the back of the class), after a couple of classes...I have grown to love practicing yoga towards the front of the class. I have seen a huge improvement in my practice since I have attended this yoga studio. I love the attentiveness from all of the instructors, but feel that I have to share my thoughts on Barbara. First off, I love her style. She is direct, and straight to the point. There are days in which I come in and want to take it easy... One of my favorite comments she would say is "Don't be lazy," because it reminds me that I should practice with "precision and intensity." I like all of her anecdotes and find her hilarious. Another one of my favorite lines that I would hear her say is about not being overly dramatic. I have learned a lot about myself through practicing bikram and I credit a lot of it to this studio. Lastly, the pricing for this studio is much more affordable compared to other studios. If you do their monthly deals, you are guaranteed to pay under 100$ per month. read more

Great little hot yoga studio in Coronado! I have not taken Barbara C.'s class yet but I have had many friends take her class here and I have heard nothing but great things about her and how positive she is so I find the above post by Lucy hard to understand or believe. Looking forward to taking one of Barbara's classes soon :) read more

This was my first yoga class ever, honestly I choose this location because it was close by, the yelp reviews were mostly positive and the website said "every class is a beginning class". After 60 minutes of sweating like crazy I felt dizzy, a few more minutes and nausea set in. I had a hard time getting home. Did the whole fluid replacement thing including coconut water. I spent three days getting back to where I felt like myself again. After the class I received an email saying that dizziness, nausea and the feelings of lethargy were normal after your first class. Wish I had known that before my first class, so bad on me of not doing more research before hand. Just a heads up here I don't recommend this class or studio for beginners. read more

If I had to describe each instructor at Coronado Hot Yoga with just one word they would be as follows; Barbra=Discipline; Vince=Spiritual; Eric=Patience Although these are the traits I think of when I consider each of them, these amazing people are by no means lacking in the other traits. Some students prefer one instructor over another because they need discipline or they're seeking a spiritual experience or they simply need a patient leader to guide them through the struggles of each posture. As a beginner, that is how I approached it. (When I say "beginner", I mean a beginner at Coronado Hot Yoga. As far as Bikram Hatha Yoga is concerned, I will always be a beginner). I would be selective as to which class I attended depending on my mood and who the instructor was going to be that day. Now, I've come to realize that I get all these things with every instructor because I can now recognize these things in each of them rather than focusing on the stronger traits my mind perceives. I appreciate they're sincerity and dedication to teaching people how to live a healthier lifestyle or a life without physical pain, anxieties and so much more. After I did the 30 day challenge, I was astounded by the changes in my body and my stress levels. I was less tired by the end of the 30 days. My co-workers noticed I was more easy going. I was actually quite energized and up-beat. The back pain I had suffered from for so many years had practically disappeared. But be patient, it takes a few weeks to really feel the changes taking place. There is a "breaking in" period that may cause some people to give up. Don't give up! If you need physical therapy, consider Hatha Yoga instead. It's far more effective and much more affordable. As far as the studio is concerned, it is much smaller than other studios I've been to. But I really enjoy the intimacy, community, outflowing support from other students and the fact that the instructor is conscience of every person in the room. You will not get lost in the crowd. In addition, you will not find a more affordable studio in San Diego!! Best of luck!! read more

I found this place by purchasing a groupon, 20$ for 20 days I can't say I made it all twenty days but I did make it enough to realize that this place is changing my life, slowly but surely. It's small but I like that I think the instructors can keep a closer eye on students to help make any necessary corrections. This place is very military friendly which I have a deep appreciation for since my husband is military and I am prior military. I recently started a year contract and couldn't be happier, I have never felt better, I have battled and suffered from long term clinical depression and post traumatic stress disorder and I used to believe medication was the only way to find any peace, but this class has definitely changed that for me. This class has improved my confidence, my self esteem, my body, my mood the list can go on and I've only attended maybe 15 classes. I'm a yogi for life. The last part of my review I just want to say to those who have written such ignorant reviews regarding Barbara clearly don't have an appreciation for hard work and discipline, she Is honest and and an incredible teacher she is so inspiring to me, besides the reason to show my body and mind inside and out some love, Barbara is the reason I will continue to go back. I couldn't be happier I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried this!!! read more

I got a Groupon deal for 20 days of classes and went for most of those days. It was a small studio but I actually ended up enjoying how personable the classes were. The teachers were all great and different, varying by personality--not teachings. Barbra- The most strict and critical teacher out of all of them. She was very efficient, and motivating. Sean- He had a much less assertive and strict vibe. He was very precise in postures and helped you do them correctly, more so than other teachers. Mira- She was very sweet, not strict. I only took a couple of her classes so I can't say much else. Vince (no longer there)- He was my first teacher, and he was great. Very humorous. Overall, I enjoyed all the teachers equally. They took the time to learn your names, fix your postures, give you great advice, etc. I liked this studio however, I do not think I'll continue to do Bikram Hot Yoga because I've done a bit of research into its originator, and didn't quite agree with what I've discovered. However, if you can get past some tidbits of details, this is a great workout, especially since you're in a heated room. Expect to sweat...heavily yet feel great afterwards. read more

Update: You need to go to here. It's been almost two years and I still love it. It's a little community filled with love and support. I have heard horror stories of other yoga studios (too full, people are allowed to walk in late/distracting!!, dirty, etc) and I have none of those experiences to share with you. Do yourself a favor and get the 2 month groupon if you're lucky enough that it's still available...the 20 days is too short to fall in love, trust me. Go as often as you can. Regarding the teachers: they are all so great and offer different things so you can pick who to go to in order to meet your desires. That said, the legendary Lance Mann has taught here and there and let me tell you - if you are lucky to get into his class (they're usually filled up by 45 minutes before class), you won't regret it. Barbra is great, she will make sure you have a great foundation but also push yourself. Karlie and Sean are wonderful as well, fine tuning your practice. Mira is as experienced as you can find (except for Lance)...you just can't go wrong here! (No, I don't work for or receive any type of compensation from Nado Hot Yoga) read more

Amazing studio and instructors! I was here for 3 months on a medical rotation and loved how welcoming this place was. Stephanie and all the other instructors were great at giving tips for adjustments when needed! Perfect amount of heat and not too humid. Love the consistency of the Hot 60 and 90 classes. Sad I wasn't in San Diego longer to continue coming here. Thanks again! read more

Great classes (nice mix instead of just one style), engaged and personal instructors who welcome all.

Hands down my favorite studio of all time. Every single teacher is beyond amazing with their knowledge of the sequences and of the human body. After class I alwAys feel transformed like a cyborg hatching from an egg into an ethereal being. Also The new location is a half a block from beach and the car ride over the coronado bridge is always beyond amazing. Ps Barbra, if you are reading this you will always be my #1. read more
