Absolutely loved this place…read more I have been having a lot of excess stress and anxiety lately, I was very worried there wouldn't be an easy way to relieve all this tension. Because let me tell you this, when they say the mental and physical are tied together they mean it. Body aches, stiff joints and just feeling so so tired all the time. That was until my mother in law suggested Yoga! I was skeptical of course and starting out felt like I stuck out like a sore thumb, but the yoga instructor there named Faith really made my first session a breeze. She is very friendly and welcoming, she takes you slow and meets you at your level so you don't feel like you're being left behind. I've been back a few times since then and my body aches have been almost completely gone, my mood has improved a lot and my joints dont feel so still, I genuinely think this place is a godsend. They hold classes by the pool on a daily basis, 7.30- 8:30 am for hotel guests. I feel fortunate to have participated both mornings that I was there, the first day with Svetlana, and the second day with Elizabeth who owns the studio. Both were awesome. I loved the gentleness and patience of the instructors and the mindfulness and gratitude they practiced and encouraged. Also, I appreciated the slow pace with an emphasis on the breath, and looking inwards - which is how I believe yoga should be practiced. For my colleague Regina, it was her very first yoga session ever, and she enjoyed it immensely. Hope she is inspired to follow up once she's back home on the other side of the country.

She has this awesome way of using every moment to relax and open up the body to get ready to work out, and the workout was really hard, but not too hard with lots of room to add more weight and resistance as I get...super strong n stuff:). To be honest, i'm usually in bed at 7:15am.... I am surprised I was able to pull off this class .... Dare I say I'm even impressed with myself hahaha. I'm for sure gonna go back I've never done that workout. I've only done Bikram with Genna and Coleen so I'm not surprised that I loved it. It was everything this bad-girl-ashtangi could have ever asked for. Still remains one of the best classes I have taken to date. Unfortunately, I don't see this class on the schedule anymore! Since my first visit 3.5 years ago, Infinite Yoga partnered with Cycle OM. Accordingly now there are fewer yoga classes and more cycle opportunities. Nonetheless, everyday there are plenty of chances to get on the mat. Additionally, the space got a posh remodel! The studio space is clean with a welcoming collection of well-maintained props (there is nothing worse then a stinky blanket!) Last time, I took an absolutely wonderful OmVinyasa class with Dana. I highly recommend her approachable, invigorating, Ashtanga -inspired classes. She also offers wonderful adjustments. I also recommend Trevor's rendition of Primary Series. He must have held navasana for 25 breaths! I appreciated his alignment cues, pristine adjustments and sense of humor. I'll be back the next time I visit sis!

After trying out most of the yoga studios in the San Diego region, I was starting to feel a little jaded and bored with my practice. I felt that my practice was becoming more physical than mental, and I wasn't sure if I was really going anywhere with it. At the urging of my yogini/yogi friends, I tried Infinite. I don't regret it at all, and I wish I came sooner. The teachers I have had here are very nice and they each have their own style and flair; you are bound to have a unique experience with each of them (in a good way!). Most of them have trained directly under Tim Miller (whose studio, FYI, is AMAZING, but I digress). Not only that, but the classes are challenging, not just physically but mentally as well. While I enjoy physically demanding classes that strengthen my balance and stamina, the actual mental process that goes on within each posture and breath makes the practice inspiring and worthwhile. To me, that is what differentiates yoga from acrobatics or gymnastics. I've tried both the all-levels and Level 3/4 classes and I enjoyed them immensely. Even if there are some postures that seem too intimidating in the Improv Level 3/4, there is a modification or an option, so I encourage any intermediate yogi/yogini to try them out and explore their boundaries. While I can do inversions quite well, I still have difficulties going in and out of backbends (how *do* you get in and out of urdva dhanurasana?), so I use the wall and I'm not criticized for it. :) For beginners, they do have classes for them as well. On Sundays there is the Foundations class and during the week there is a Core25 class that works with the core (obviously) and finishes with more restorative postures. I don't recommend complete beginners to take the Ashtanga classes unless you are very familiar with the Primary series. Although I have taken the all-levels Primary Series class, I did think it was fairly challenging. The Ashtanga classes are comfortably heated at 80 degrees, which I think is perfect. I'm not a hot yoga practitioner (I actually hate hot yoga, tbh), but a little heat goes a long way and complements the internal heat your body builds as you get deeper into your asana. Periodically this studio will hold workshops and retreats. I haven't taken them, but I have heard through friends they are worthwhile and informative. Very occasionally there will be class specials, so I encourage anyone to check out the website frequently to take advantage of them. Because this is located in Little Italy, parking can be kind of tricky, so make sure you familiarize yourself with the location. I haven't had issues finding parking, but if you are coming in before 6 pm, make sure you park a block or two away from the studio (where there is 2 hour parking). Otherwise, it is $1.25 per hour at the front. I think they give parking passes for students who are unlimited members; I haven't inquired about it as I've just done drop ins and parked a little further away from the studio. As for the studio space itself, it's reasonably sized and I've never had an issue with being too close to my neighbor (or maybe the times I went it wasn't full, lol). It can be a little confusing the first time you come in because you have to walk through a very long hallway until you finally reach the actual studio lobby. There is a little dressing room and some Manduka products for your purchasing needs. If you are looking to deepen your practice with yoga, I encourage you to come to Infinite. I guarantee you'll have a wonderful experience after one class session.

I absolutely love this yoga studio…read more I'm new to yoga. I have visited a couple yoga studios to try them out but never joined until now. I was having trouble staying asleep and having anxiety at night due to a lot of stressors earlier this year. I found this place from groupon and I have been a member ever since. This place is amazing... all of the instructors are amazing. I always appreciate their hands on adjustments. The atmosphere and aromatherapy is so relaxing! I always feel rejuvenated and relaxed after every class. My flexibility, sleep, and stress level has definitely improved. They also have everything you may need: yoga mat, blocks, straps, and bolsters so you don't need to bring anything unless you want to use your own stuff :) I always look forward to my days off from work because I can't wait to come here!

The 'OM' experience standing for "Olivia & Matt" and play off a nice long meditative OM, is a family ran business that truly is grass roots from the ground up. The Duo instructs, leads, teaches and nurtures their clients during classes through a meditative, physical and mental yoga class at Balboa park. Between the birds chirping, the Spanish bell tower tolling and the breeze whipping the through the herbaceous smelling eucalyptus trees, it's truly a treat. There is no fuss, no stress, no high end mirrors and you won't find that pretentiousness that you usually find at fancy-studios. Fresh grass, sunshine, breezes and ROOM is just the beginning. Sure those are the great amenities at an OM class, but the real treat is when the class starts. Slowly and ever so calmly Matt begins to play music, it's never forced...his musical and artistic intuition is really special. Either some percussion or the light strumming of a string instrument, ever so light singing or chanting, some growling. Olivia instructs from the center, this alone is such a different feel from either being in the front or back, or being near a Shavasana snorer like me, it's wide and spread out. You can't smell feet, so that cool too. Olivia leads from the center. She makes her rounds, she explains so everyone on all levels can understand, that's her greatest skill set and gift. She does not explain with haste, there is harmony and reason to her approach and she will get you into the position you need to be in. If you're a local or just visiting San Diego for a few days, I would highly recommend dropping in on one of the OM EXPERIENCES classes on Sunday mornings, check for other events, days etc. You will not be sorry you showed up to an OM class, you always feel so much lighter and refreshed.
