Ox Tail Plate and Beef Jamaican Patty
    Oliver S.

If you love Jamaican food this is the spot! Would recommend this place if you're looking for good food that isn't going hurt your pockets. I ordered the Large Oxtail Plate and Beef Jamaican Patty with a drink all for less than 30 dollars. The Ox tail was extremely tender and flavorful and everything in my plate was delicious. Not far from the base either, 10/10 would recommend!

    Menu...good prices.

This spot was bought by a Trinidadian family some time ago, which I find to be fantastic! I can't honestly say what my favorite dish is... The oxtail, escovitch fish and jerk chicken is exceptional. The brown stew chicken is very good but maybe my least favorite of all dishes I've tried. I look forward to days roti is available. If you show up too late in the day your choices are slim... however still absolutely delicious!

"Macaroni Pie". Might have been this batch, but it was dry.

I was in the area visiting and I ordered a large Oxtail dinner, rice&peas, plantains, and cabbage. With another side of "Macaroni pie". If you're looking for an authentic Jamaican or Caribbean meal, sadly this place is NOT it. Positives: Plantain was good, oxtail was tender. Negatives: cabbage wasn't good, "macaroni pie" was dry, and the oxtail taste like they over did it with rosemary leaves. Customer Service: horrible. I walked in ready to order, and instead of being greeted and feeling welcomed I had to greet the workers as they were holding a conversation as I waited to be asked what I would like to order. The young lady then looked at me like she was annoyed that I wanted to order food. Now, I understand the cultural stereotype of some (not ALL, but some) Caribbean people having attitudes when you order at their food establishment (it's usually a cultural thing, and it's all love at the end of the day, but this was not that) this was simply poor customer service, and feeling unwelcomed. Then to top it off, it didn't taste like authentic Jamaican or Caribbean food. To the owners: I would say please start working on customer service training for your employees. Disclaimer: if you don't care about receiving good customer service, or whether the food tastes authentic give them a try by all means. I definitely will not be back, bless.

Dropped in by chance & left satisfied, full, and already looking forward to our next experience! The curry goat was so soft, as well as the curry chicken which was fall off the bone. Next time we'll be getting the oxtails to review. I got the strawberry lemonade and it was good, but just a heads up that it's extremely sweet! The restaurant is a homey mom and pop style ambiance, making it welcoming and feel like home. Service was good as well!

I must say these oxtails were exceptional and tender, if you're searching for a quality establishment, look no further, you'll be pleased.

Do not let the outside appearance of the building fool you. This is the place to eat. Food is always on point. You may have to wait a few minutes every now and then because it sells out so quick. I haven't had everything on the menu but everything that I have tasted has been great. Staff is always friendly and accommodating.

    That is my flag.

Meh. I am disappointed. I have been to Jamaica and have had jerk pork and chicken along the roads. I'm this place the servings are very generous and the prices is good. However, when I saw my jerk chicken smothered with spicy sauce that was it for me. The chicken tasted like chicken so the jerk flavours were not marinated enough. Rice was ok but tasted like boxed. Again, I was disappointed :(

This place is delicious! I've had it twice now... tried the jerk chicken and the oxtail. Both were amazing! And I think someone described it best.. "addictive!" The price is great compared to the amount they give! I wouldn't recommend dining in since the place smelled V like Clorox. Unless they were just cleaning during that time, but at least you know they clean the place. :) The service was good and they prepared the to go dishes pretty quickly. They do have their own parking lot. I definitely recommend!

Jerk chicken, yellow rice, cabbage and cornbread!! Delicious!!

To give this place only 5 stars is a total injustice, because it deserves 10!! They only do a few items here and they do them VERY WELL!! My go to is the jerk chicken but I get it with brown stew gravy over the top! It comes with a large serving of rice (yellow, steamed, or rice and peas) cabbage, and cornbread or plantains! This plate is HEAVY! There's always 4 or 5 pieces of chicken and it's only $10.75! If spicy isn't you're thing they have curry chicken, brown stew chicken, curry chicken, oxtails, and curry goat!! They also have a couple of fish options. I go here for lunch or dinner 2-3 days a week!! If it's a taste of the islands you're craving you have got to give this place a shot!! You'll keep coming back!!

(Fish House, Atlas Oyster House, Jackson's Steak House, Five Sisters Blue's Cafe and Angelena's Ristorante Italiano. With Atlas and Angelena's setting the bar. Once greeted, we started with the Buffalo Chicken Dip, which was quit tasty. I had to try the Famous Fried Chicken (Dark) with Collards and Red Beans and Rice. The Fried Chicken was hot and delicious! The sides were way under seasoned, leaving me to doctor them with condiments. My wife really enjoyed the Chicken Fried Steak and Gravy with Mac n cheese and Fried Okra, which added to the comfort food enjoyment. My only wish would be, replacing the loud metal chair's on the concrete floors, which take away from the Blues Cafe Vibe. Glad we tried Five Sisters, but we will stick to our favorites in the future.

This visit, the moment I walked to the counter I was greeted with a smile, and I remember her from my first visit. I ordered the 1/2 chicken because it was only $3 more than a 1/4 chicken with 2 sides. You get both white and dark meat and I order fried Yucca and black beans & rice. The chicken has so much flavor from the charcoal. The Yucca was perfectly fried fresh, and the black beans and rice were satisfying. It is a little pricey about $27 with fountain drink and a 15% tip (in my opinion they should not ask with their point of sale system when it is not a full service restaurant). This is the reason why they got a 3 star instead of 4 stars. This reminds me of Peruvian style rotisserie chicken that I use to eat when I lived in Washington DC area. Here, they are branded as Latin American Charcoal Chicken. This not a full service restaurant. You order at the counter and pick up at the order at the other end. They have a small but adequate dining room. I wonder how they are during a lunch and dinner rush. I will soon see.
