I had endless problems with my Outlook email system recently and when the Nerds in Ottawa were super-busy and could not respond immediately, Matthew Kirkland stepped right in and took care of my problems. He also gave me some great advice. Because Microscoft had done 'updates' that had thrown my Outlook set up out of wack, there was extra work to be done to get my Outlook to work properly. He refused to accept extra payment. I have had computer problems over the years and used many other 'computer repair service' companies, but nothing compares to Nerds on Site. They are very reasonably priced, very knowledgeable and very fair. They have my business as long as they want it.

Was helping an elderly friend try to sort out her iPad login issues and after talking to online four times plus having a really nice young man by the name of Josh try to help us at Genius Bar on August 8, we had to come back on August 9. A young pretty girl, long dark hair came to help us and it was immediately clear that she was absolutely not interested in providing us with any support; unbelievably, after 30 min or so, she told her she had to go on break and we could just call Apple support if we need help. I could not believe it. Supervisors & management of Apple - is this the kind of employee you have working for you? She literally walked away. Camping? Paint balling? Preparing for the apocalypse? Well Forest City Surplus has you covered…read more This place has it ALL. We visited FCS to get some supplies for camping. We walked around for quite a while because there is just so much to look at and tons of great prices. There was a ton of variety too. Lots of different types of rain ponchos and protective gear, tarps, camp supplies, and even toys and clothing. Whether you need pvc pipe, magnetic sheets, bungie cords, a piano, body wash, honestly, Forest City has it. We purchased a hat from Circus CIrcus (the Las Vegas casino) because it went with our camp theme. They used to give them out back in the day when you signed up for their loyalty cards. Talk about a sweet find! I stayed away from purchasing a sleeping bag as I was unable to see what it was like on the inside. They have a sign saying not to open them up. If you have a free Saturday afternoon I would suggest heading down Dundas to check it out. It is attached to the Gibraltar Weekend Market so there are lots of great deals there as well. I already have plans to come back soon to pick up a few things that I forgot about. Either way, I know I will get some of the same products found at big box stores for a fraction of the price. So take some time and check them out! It may just save you a small fortune!

The Computer Crashing Blues. For us that happened this past Friday and going into busy weekends repair shops tend to be booked up or wanting to charge you an arm & a leg.. if not more body parts to even take a look at the problem. We were lucky enough to get hold of Forest City Computer Repairs who kindly offered to come pick up our beast of a machine. (Alienware Aurora's are giants! And heavy as crud!) They specialize in same day laptop service and work with both PC's and Macs. This not being a laptop we didn't hold much hope we'd hear anything until the next week. But they were able to figure out the issue Saturday and worked hard to finish it up (since they were closed Sunday). Unfortunately the problem was a little bit bigger than expected and it would need to carry on after close but they assured us Monday we'd have our baby back and we did! Given the amount of time they had to spend on it and installing of new SSD hard drive, operating system and all the crazy driver set ups alienware does we were shocked at how low the price was. To be honest I'd even pay someone just to do that every time because headache and bandwidth...eep! Both father & son of the company worked with us and both were amazingly honest about timelines & prices, even rounding down the price in some cases, which is refreshing when it comes to Comp fixes (or at least my experiences with them). They didn't even charge us for pick up & delivery because as they put it 'you are just around the corner!' They will definitely get my business in the future. I'll happily review this business and add it in so fellow London Yelpers! will know of a good place to get their repairs taken care of.

I brought my MacBook that needed its motherboard to be replaced. They told me they can do that and I left it with them. I took it back in 2 days and realized that they put a used motherboard from an older version MacBook. I immediately called them and asked why they did so. They told me that it was a communication error, and apologized, and repaired my old motherboard instead and put it back. However, if I was not knowledgeable enough to check that, they would have gone away with it, and I would get conned. Be very very cautious with this establishment.
