Reading through the reviews, I decided to request a quote. I got a response almost immediately. From start to finish, service from Peter and Pono Hauling was excellent. Peter was very responsive and flexible - making time to meet us during our short trip on Maui for the initial walk thru. We had a short window before flying out and he was right on time, friendly & professional, and provided a great quote. Knowing we don't live on Maui, he asked if we had someone who would meet them at the house on the day of hauling, asked for their contact info, and reached out to them himself to schedule the appointment. After the job was completed, he did a video walk-thru of the inside and outside of the house for us. Anytime we had a question, even after the job was done, he responded quickly and took the time to answer thoroughly. Cleaning out our uncle's house has been stressful and alot of work. THANK YOU PONO for doing such a great job and making this part of it smooth and painless! Would definitely recommend them for your hauling needs!

My childhood home was the location of my personal mission, season one, episode one. I figured it'd be easier to rent one of those huge dumpsters rather than hauling small loads to the dump ourselves. Jumped on Yelp, researched and made a decision to go with Waste Pro Hawaii. EXPERIENCE: The website wasn't too informative so I called in to a friendly, professional gal. She explained the fees and process accordingly. They offer roll offs in 15, 20 and 30 yard sizes (covered or uncovered), along with tipplers and dumpsters in varying sizes. You're allowed to keep the bin for as long as you like which was the selling point for me and why I chose them over Maui Disposal. While the haul-away fee for Maui Disposal was about $100 less, they force you to haul away the bin every 14 days or pay a fee. Forget that! We decided on an uncovered 30-yard roll off which ended up being the perfect size in the end. I called in to order it and they were able to deliver on the same day which was perfect as I had to personally hand over a down payment ($450 and change for the dumpster, deliver fee and tax) to the truck driver. The roll was huge and thought no way we'd fill it up but we did. It's shaped like a "U" with a huge swinging door on one end. I was concerned that there were no holes on the bottom for water drainage but even with the significant amount of rain we had it never ponded. We got rid of several cabinets, mattresses, bed frames, entertainment centers, junk and clutter! After about a month we called for the haul away in which they came the next day. A final bill was sent a few days later after our load was weighed. Here's the breakdown of our charges: $370.00 for the 30-yard roll off $62.50 delivery charge $114/ton Maui County landfill fee ($169.86 for 1.49 tons of our waste) $627.45 grand total OVERALL: Well worth the money. Why burden yourself with renting a U-Haul, making multiple trips to the dump with sweat equity and paying by the mileage?

A stranger suggested I try this place, and I'm so glad I did. Abel took the time to listen and creatively build a custom solution from materials he had on hand, even though they didn't carry exactly what I needed. When I offered to pay, he kindly declined, saying it was simply extra material he keeps for situations like this. I returned again for additional pieces, and he once more went above and beyond to make sure everything was secure. I later learned Abel is the owner, which made his generosity and hands-on approach even more impressive. Because of his thoughtfulness and ingenuity, I traveled safely with my artwork just before my flight. If you value genuine customer service and someone who truly cares about helping you find a solution, this is the place to go. Highly recommend. -- Charlotte
