Everything tasted very cheap and/or premade. The kielbasa doesn't deserve to be called that, that's some stuff from the grocery store. The Cole slaw tastes just like store bought. Everything was quite bland. Cornbread was dry. Small portion for the high price (yes it's a large amount of food but I expected more for the price). The bbq sauces on the side are better than the one on the table.

I really liked the wings. My wife didn't really like the touch of smoky taste, but she's no wing expert. 5+++++ Star Review for The Lighthouse, Surf City, NJ…read more Absolutely loved LOVED our visit to The Lighthouse in Surf City! Everything was on point from start to finish. We had the wings, fish tacos, and a chicken sandwich -- and each dish was better than the last. The wings were perfectly cooked and full of flavor, the fish tacos were fresh and had just the right amount of kick, and the chicken sandwich was juicy and satisfying. The vibe of the place was beachy, welcoming, and laid-back -- just what you want at the Shore. Service was fast and friendly, food came out hot, and everything tasted made with care. Definitely a hidden gem and worth every star. We'll be back for sure!

At lunch, my softshell crab sandwich was good. Kudos to them for having softshells during the very brief season. For the price, I wish there had been two crabs though. The one in my sandwich was very small and noticeably tough. Very tasty, though, on its toasted brioche bun. I removed one of the two fat tomato slices because i wanted to be able to taste the delicate crab, and ate the extra slice along with some of the excess lettuce as a salad. The side of cole slaw was delicious. My sister had the original crab cake sandwich which she loved, and my husband ordered a sautéed mahi sandwich with fries and a beer. He was very happy, and said that it was probably the best mahi he'd ever had. We arrived at about 2p.m. without a reservation to find the dining room packed, so we're happy to sit at a shared outdoor wooden picnic table next to the bar truck. It's that popular! Nothing fancy about this place except the prices and good quality seafood.
