    Chicken Shawarma Sandwich

This is the best shawarma sandwich you can get in Waterloo! I've tried most of the shawarma places near the campus and this one wins mainly because of the freshness of the bread and just overall being a solid shawarma sandwich. I would highly recommend getting the shawarma sandwich (not the wrap)! What I liked: * Freshly baked wood oven bread. Game changer. * Really filling and tasty (they don't skimp on the meat like some places and it isn't dry/burnt either) What I disliked: * Service can be a bit slow since there are usually only 2 staff working at a time. Multiple times I've had to wait a while due to people that bulk ordered in front of me. Definitely worth waiting though!

Tasty shawarma, particularly because of the fresh bread. Good service. Ducking them a star for not recycling.

Today I bought Shawarma from this place. Tabouli had stones in every bite. Not worth the price. No responsibility in food hygiene/safety.

Food is very oily and greasy. Also, chicken has fat chunks in it. It taste good; however, terrible for health...

Go for the barbican for the drink. The ambiance is great and chill. The service is very good and fast. Amazing student discounts around 7 dollars for a shawarma and a pop. After walking inside you get the same cozy feeling and the smells just warm your soul up. They put so much dedication from the way they speak with you to the quality of the food, I was really satisfied. I didn't know this but you actually get $5 off your first order of $25 or more if you order online through their website shawermaplus.com - love supporting local! Since I was really craving mediterranean I decided to go all out and order. First, there was so much variety on the menu that there wasn't anything I couldn't order. Shawerma Plus has some of the best value meals so I decided to order the Saj Super Family Tray, Chicken Shawerma Poutine, and Baqlawah for dessert. My Saj Super Family Tray came out so crispy and flavorful - seriously filled with so much umami. I love how the poutine uses their own sauce and it really made for a unique combo. To finish, the baqlawah was the perfect finish with the sweet drizzle. For a Mediterranean craving, I will definitely be back. Thank you for all that you do!

It turned into an embarrassing and disappointing experience. I am a retired Air Force Captain, a veteran of the Gulf War, and that evening I was joined by my brother and our spouses, we all choose to drink red wine. After enjoying dinner and ordering our second bottle of wine, a female manager approached our table to ask how we were getting home. I explained that my wife and I were staying at the Delta Hotel across the street and walked here and were walking back, while my brother mentioned that his daughter would be picking them up. Later, when we ordered a fourth bottle of wine to enjoy with dessert, the same manager returned and refused to serve us, claiming that it would amount to "one bottle per person" and could "put us over the limit." In all my 64 years, I have never been refused service ever -- especially while being responsible, polite, and transparent about our arrangements. Feeling insulted and unwelcome, we decided to take our business to the Delta Hotel, where we were treated with courtesy and common sense. Needless to say, SOLE will never see my face again, and I will make sure others are aware of how this restaurant treats paying, respectful customers celebrating a special occasion. Sincerely, Capt. (Ret'd) Martin Mattes Canadian Air Force Veteran

Soup was perfect for the cold weather, and enough for two of us to share. Pizza had good chew to the crust and the combination of blue cheese and pears and honey was delicious. A little greasy. Pasta was delicious and cooked perfectly, the duck confit was so tender and flavourful, squash was also perfectly tender. They were also nice enough to bring a little birthday dessert for us! Only thing I'll say is that this might be the only restaurant I've felt like I'm doing something wrong... not that the servers were mean but the vibes are just something I've never felt before. Total bill for us before tax & tip was $67. Great pricing for great food. Highly recommend!

I've been 3 times once for lunch and twice for dinner and it was only busy one of the times (dinner). It is a little bit on the pricey side but I think completely worth it because they give you 4 appetizer dips and bread at the start on the house, as well as the most heart-warming tea on the house to finish off your meal. The staff are very friendly and welcoming! There isn't a lot of choices on the menu, but everything I've tried has been delicious. The portion sizes are pretty big. For someone with a smaller appetite you may have to take some food home! Now I'll rate the things I've tried: Their meat dishes come with your choice of rice or fries and a salad. The salad is amazingly satisfying and the rice is the kind of pillowy fluffy comfort rice from your childhood. I've tried fries from friends and they were alright but not special. There are a ton of meat options and the quality IS AMAZING. Some of the best quality and tasting meat I've had. It's juicy, tender, and perfectly seasoned. I've tried the lamb chops: they were delicious and that's coming from someone that's not a massive lamb lover. A bit expensive ($30) though since there are only 3 chops. So I wouldn't get them again. Adana kebab: DELICIOUS. Perfectly seasoned. Comes with a bit of thin bread to eat it with. This was my favourite order. Shashlik (forgive me I forget how to spell it): again a little pricier ($30 I think) but delicious!! Its a skewer with onion and perfectly delicious meat. Cheese pide: another favourite!!! This item is so affordable and is HUGE!! it tastes incredible I genuinely felt like I was in Turkey munching on the soft doughy cheesy delight that it was. The garlic sauce it comes with is heavenly. Lahamchun: yummy! Its a thinner dough than the pide so it's not as filling. But it's tasty and the portion size is huge as well. Good if you don't want to order a main meat dish. Cigar borek: good! Its a cylinder shaped pastry filled with cheese. Doesn't come with a lot. I probably wouldn't get again. Grape leaves: My friend LOVED these but I personally didn't. It didnt come with many though so its a bit pricier! All the "on-the-house" appetizers are delicious and fun to eat. My favourite is the beet one. The tea is amazing as well. A bit strong but it goes extremely well with the food. I think that's everything I wanted to mention. Highly recommend this place and I will be going often :)
