The Venice Grand Canal Mall - They take retail mall space up several levels here. And this is considered a more dated version.

I spent a lot of time here. As soon as you walk into the mall, it doesn't feel like you're in the Philippines anymore. The canal was nice to see during the day and at night. You can even take a gondola through the canal. They also have an area where you can feed pigeons seeds. They have a lot of the stores and the restaurants that we have in the US. I was joking around saying that I traveled 7200 miles to eat at a Denny's in the Philippines. Lol. And you know I had to hit up the Uniqlo here! Will I be back? Of course. Especially if I stay at the same Airbnb. I'll see you when I see you Venice Grand Canal Mall!

Encircling this mall are apartments, condos and office towers. The mall offers a lot: a supermarket; bookstores; fast food and casual dining restaurants; a multi-screen movie theater; spaces for dance and play--and a lot of retail shopping. You can also buy tickets for a gondola ride or rent a swan boat. This location provided an opportunity for me to people watch; examine products and brands unfamiliar to me; and to price compare goods in the PHL, versus back home. It was interesting.

I had the opportunity to visit this mall recently as my cousin took me here to get my hair done at her hair and makeup studio, Introspect which is located on one of the upper levels near the Fisher Department Store. I came here on a Thursday around lunch time and the mall wasn't as crowded as it was on the weekend, specifically on a Sunday. There are so many eateries here to choose from which also includes my cousin's restaurant, Hen Lin. I learned this mall went through a lot of reconstruction in order to have major food tenants occupy the area in addition to an updated galley food court. A mini park was also built beside the mall on Quezon Avenue, known as Fisher Parkway, which houses one of my favorite stores, Uniqlo. Fisher Mall has 5 floors + 3 levels for basement parking. We usually avoided parking in the basement and would park on the street, as this was the most convenient for us. This mall has a fresh seafood market in addition to tons of stores and venue stalls to shop from. Your options are endless here when it comes to food, shopping, activities and entertainment. They've got live entertainment, a cinema that offers online reservations and comfortable seating and even a place to gather and play Bingo! Their mall is also pet friendly with an elevator that actually says "Pet Friendly Elevator", lol. Overall, Fisher Mall is fairly clean with many affordable options to please your family's cravings and personal needs.

I always considered Divisoria top-notch for deals and variety, and this shopping center did not disappoint. The mall has about six floors packed with countless aisles and shops to explore. The lower floor is not air-conditioned, but as you go higher, the atmosphere becomes more comfortable and boutique-style. Unlike Greenhills, the vendors here don't constantly hound or pressure you while shopping, which made the experience much more enjoyable. The prices are already relatively cheap, so there's not much need to bargain aggressively. I didn't even make it to the top floors because there was just so much to see. I'm already looking forward to coming back and exploring more.

This is an indoor mall with three levels and over 300 stalls/stores. It is air-conditioned inside for shoppers' comfort. When you hear Divisoria it is synonymous to cheap bargains and you can haggle the price and get it more cheap. They have everything here, especially off-the-rack clothing, purses and shoes, novelty items, gadgets... well, almost, everything. I tried to look for a Sacramento Kings jersey but they didn't have it LoL! They also have food stalls. Mom was able to buy a Filipiniana (aka 'Maria Clara'). It was a fun shopping experience here. Cash is king so have some handy before coming to Divisoria. I guarantee you'll find something and you won't be able to leave empty handed, that's for sure. Review #3293

There have been multiple attempts to upgrade this area over the last two to three decades. Once upon a time, it was not only scary but dangerous to pass here. Too many petty criminals and pickpockets. The first attempt was only mildly successful, although one bank did put up a branch there. Now, the place looks like a typical mall. Start with the entrances. They're all guarded with glass doors. Head down stairs and the first thing you will notice is the air-conditioning. Cool, huh? Then there are the various stores, most of which will be familiar to mall rats like me. Sure, it's the usual stalls and food kiosks. But to see them here in Quiapo is a most pleasant surprise. Oh, yes. There are the toilets. They're clean, too. Unlike before when you had to pay a few pesos to use the mostly dirty and smelly toilets, today's underpass toilets are not only clean, they're free as well. I have no idea why it's called the Victory Lacson Underpass, but it doesn't matter. I hope that the next administrations of the City of Manila can maintain this place. For now, my hats off to the local government of the capital city of the Philippines for the remarkable job they did in transforming this underpass.
