While not a sprawling metropolis of commercialism, this mall is actually pretty sweet for what it is. Fisher Mall is pretty small. Four floors, possibly covered in a couple of hours tops... it might seem a touch provincial to people used to places like MoA or Trinoma. But it's really not all that bad... and actually pretty surprising. Fisher Mall definitely looks bigger on the outside but it has all the necessities: a grocery, a department store, a cinema and a bunch of retail shops and restaurants. Exactly what anyone would expect from any mall. The surprising bit comes from what you find inside. The cinema's fine and the kind of quality you'd probably expect from any Ayala mall. The department store isn't that bad either. Decent selection of things. Same for the clothing stores. And yes, they have an Ace Hardware. Their arcade is also more akin to a small scale amusement park with rides and games rather than just arcade cabinets. But what really surprised me is the grocery. They stock a pretty wide selection of imported goods. And their produce is fresh, especially the fish. Given the fact that the owner is involved in the fishery business, it isn't all that surprising. They offer a wide variety of seafood with a selection that changes every day. It's still one of my favorite places to do the groceries. My only minor complaint is that the food court is tiny... but with all those restaurants on the higher floors and more opening over time, why stick to just the food court?

I spent a lot of time here. As soon as you walk into the mall, it doesn't feel like you're in the Philippines anymore. The canal was nice to see during the day and at night. You can even take a gondola through the canal. They also have an area where you can feed pigeons seeds. They have a lot of the stores and the restaurants that we have in the US. I was joking around saying that I traveled 7200 miles to eat at a Denny's in the Philippines. Lol. And you know I had to hit up the Uniqlo here! Will I be back? Of course. Especially if I stay at the same Airbnb. I'll see you when I see you Venice Grand Canal Mall!

Encircling this mall are apartments, condos and office towers. The mall offers a lot: a supermarket; bookstores; fast food and casual dining restaurants; a multi-screen movie theater; spaces for dance and play--and a lot of retail shopping. You can also buy tickets for a gondola ride or rent a swan boat. This location provided an opportunity for me to people watch; examine products and brands unfamiliar to me; and to price compare goods in the PHL, versus back home. It was interesting.

I always considered Divisoria top-notch for deals and variety, and this shopping center did not disappoint. The mall has about six floors packed with countless aisles and shops to explore. The lower floor is not air-conditioned, but as you go higher, the atmosphere becomes more comfortable and boutique-style. Unlike Greenhills, the vendors here don't constantly hound or pressure you while shopping, which made the experience much more enjoyable. The prices are already relatively cheap, so there's not much need to bargain aggressively. I didn't even make it to the top floors because there was just so much to see. I'm already looking forward to coming back and exploring more.

This is an indoor mall with three levels and over 300 stalls/stores. It is air-conditioned inside for shoppers' comfort. When you hear Divisoria it is synonymous to cheap bargains and you can haggle the price and get it more cheap. They have everything here, especially off-the-rack clothing, purses and shoes, novelty items, gadgets... well, almost, everything. I tried to look for a Sacramento Kings jersey but they didn't have it LoL! They also have food stalls. Mom was able to buy a Filipiniana (aka 'Maria Clara'). It was a fun shopping experience here. Cash is king so have some handy before coming to Divisoria. I guarantee you'll find something and you won't be able to leave empty handed, that's for sure. Review #3293

There have been multiple attempts to upgrade this area over the last two to three decades. Once upon a time, it was not only scary but dangerous to pass here. Too many petty criminals and pickpockets. The first attempt was only mildly successful, although one bank did put up a branch there. Now, the place looks like a typical mall. Start with the entrances. They're all guarded with glass doors. Head down stairs and the first thing you will notice is the air-conditioning. Cool, huh? Then there are the various stores, most of which will be familiar to mall rats like me. Sure, it's the usual stalls and food kiosks. But to see them here in Quiapo is a most pleasant surprise. Oh, yes. There are the toilets. They're clean, too. Unlike before when you had to pay a few pesos to use the mostly dirty and smelly toilets, today's underpass toilets are not only clean, they're free as well. I have no idea why it's called the Victory Lacson Underpass, but it doesn't matter. I hope that the next administrations of the City of Manila can maintain this place. For now, my hats off to the local government of the capital city of the Philippines for the remarkable job they did in transforming this underpass.
