We eat Thai food all the time we live in Pompano Beach and there several Thai restaurants near us with one being particularly a favorite but here at Yuen Thai we found some unique dishes and wonderful new flavors My sweetheart ordered the steamed snapper and the aromatic sauce was delicious but she thought that the fish was a little bit dry. I ordered the Nissan Thai amazing which is a curry and unlike anything I've had before. It was wonderful. It has unique flavors which I wouldn't have associated with curries or Thai food, but for me were a special treat I ordered it with shrimp and the shrimp or ample and perfectly cooked. The service was good too. The weight staff was friendly, attentive, and willing to make suggestions. The restaurant itself feels like a Thai restaurant which I like this for me would be a must return to place. Enjoyed lunch here. Located in a small strip mall, from the outside you will see basil plants - lots of them! Inside its decorated very nicely & we loved sitting in the booth - nice & private! Lunch came with pork wonton soup or salad. My soup was so delish - good pork flavor & not salty. My husband had the salad & really liked the vinegar taste in the dressing. We both had the chicken ginger & very much appreciated the amount of different veggies in it & the chicken was nice & tender. Wish it had more sauce & heat. We ordered hot & it was like medium to us. We felt like some Thai food today and remembered this place. The place is definitely dated and decor could be upgraded. The service was great they were really nice. The lunch time was slow so there wasn't a wait but they did get a lot of to go orders. I love Thai food, so does me lady and we cook Thai food at home and I will say that we were disappointed. For us the food was okay we definitely had much better it didn't really have the flavors of Thai to me. Me ilady ordered chicken pad Thai and I got the MASSAM and I asked for it Thai hot I will say that pepper is hotter than what they called Thai hot there I barely noticed any scoville heat whatsoever. But it did make for a quick lunch The leftovers we had we took thathome and doctored those up. I really wanted to love this place! It has such a cool, authentic atmosphere with unique decor, and it was very busy during lunch, so it's clearly a popular local spot! Unfortunately, the chicken Pad Thai was pretty bland and had very little sauce. It honestly tasted more like plain noodles than the flavorful Pad Thai I was hoping for. I was also accidentally charged around $30 for the customer's order ahead of me instead of my $15 lunch, but thankfully they corrected it when I brought it to their attention. Overall, I'm hoping I just caught them on an off day! I love supporting local restaurants and would be open to giving it another try, just probably with a different dish next time! read more

We had a deeply disappointing dinner at Isan Thai in Sarasota this evening and feel compelled to share our experience. Our party of 5 was served by a young waiter who accidentally spilled a full glass of red wine all over all five of us. Accidents happen -- but what followed was worse than the spill itself. There was no sincere apology or meaningful attempt to make it right from the staff. When I asked to speak with a manager, the only explanation offered was "I'm sorry, the young boy is new." Nothing was taken off our bill, and the owner's husband, who was present, didn't even make eye contact or show any concern. A new employee is not an excuse for poor management and a complete lack of accountability. A genuine apology and any gesture of goodwill would have gone a long way. Instead, we were left stained, embarrassed, and dismissed. We will not be returning, and we cannot recommend Isan Thai based on this experience :( read more

We ordered Isan Thai for pickup and were really impressed with how well everything was packed. The food traveled beautifully and was still hot and ready to serve when we sat down to eat--despite being 15 minutes away. We tried the Pad Thai with chicken, Pineapple Fried Rice with pork, and the Thai Spring Rolls. Overall, we really enjoyed the flavors. The Pad Thai had a subtle sweetness that was nicely balanced by the peanuts and protein. While I wish we had been given the option to choose a spice level (it was pretty mild), it was still tasty. I also noticed it was a little light on the veggies, which might just be their style of preparation. The Pineapple Fried Rice didn't have as much pineapple flavor as we were hoping for, but it was still enjoyable--just could've used a bit more seasoning and a kick of spice. The Thai Spring Rolls were a highlight: perfectly fried without being greasy, and paired with a delicious sweet dipping sauce. However, $6 for just two rolls felt a bit steep, especially since the Uber Eats photo seemed to show four. The service and food were good. My husband had the chicken thai basil, which was very basil-forward and yummy. I had fried rice and spring rolls. We will be back. The prices are reasonable, unlike a lot of Sarasota restaurants with inflated prices. We are comparing this place to a restaurant back north that we prefer, but it's still a contender! I order chicken pad Thai medium heat for pick up. So satisfied with my food! It was very flavorful almost with a little sweet flavor. The chicken was slightly dry, but I would order it again and again because that flavor is has to find in Thai food around here. Isan Thai is my new favorite pad Thai place. Our visit to Isan Thai last night went very well from start to finish. I had checked out the menu and Yelp reviews beforehand and knew what I wanted to eat and what to expect. The restaurant does have a Thai restaurant look and feel with wood and wall hangings. They have two rows of booths and close parking if you can find a spot. For dinner I began with their Tom Yum soup, followed by a stir-fry dish called Pad Pak Ruam Mit. The soup was great with a citrusy flavor. My bowl was not really spicy, that may be something that could be added. My stir-fry, which I got with pork, consisted of fresh chopped veggies with a mild sauce. While simple I thought it was a fresh healthy choice, exactly what I was after. Service was fine, normal, and helpful as my wife likes to ask for suggestions when selecting a dish. read more

I went here couple time very long time ago and really missed a thai food where I usually order so I got food delivered. Most of items were which I never had but they were delicious. Isan salad had a nice bite; it was like almost like Korean daikon dish of sort, that I can't remember. Perfect palate cleanser. Also, Sai aour was so great! It was tangy with hint of aromatics, and the bite came later a bit. Kao soi was quite bland and soft noodles were very sticky and over done, crunch noodles ended up being soft from soaking up moisture. Our soup was HOT and tasty (Tom KHA) and my entrée (Pad Pak Ruam Mit w/tofu) was REALLY tasty, fresh vegetables, beautifully cooked tofu (and good product to boot) My wife got an also well crafted meal, but sadly days later I forget what it was exactly. This place has a nice authentic atmosphere, smells amazing, and we loved all the art/gold statues and highlights. We got the Tom Yum Gai, Tom Kha Gai, chicken satay, and Thai iced tea. The tea and soups were ready in 10 minutes or less after ordering, and the chicken satay was another 5 or less. Our Thai iced teas were delectable, rich and sweet (could've been a little sweeter), The Tom Kha was delicious; aromatic and creamy, with a delicious vinegar kick. The Tom Yum wasn't as good, I wasn't getting much "hot and sour" from it, it was pretty tomatoe-y and had multiple inedible leaves/galangal stalks. Isan Thai sports mostly positive reviews and seems to enjoy substantial customer loyalty. We must have landed in a different place. The overall tenor is worn, in need of updating with better overall ambience. They managed to lose our reservation but were able to seat our party of three for dinner. We chose this spot for its advertised emphasis on vegan options. The service was perfunctory and the food no better than awful. Each dish was served with tired carrots and other vegetables swimming in sauces which appeared and tasted as if they were trying hard to get rid of yesterday's leftovers. Well this time around we had different dishes as you could see in the pictures. My recommendation would be to try the Green Curry and the milk tea. The food and service is good. Isan is the best Thai food I've had in Sarasota so far! The amazing sauce is sweet and creamy with the classic peanut flavor we love. I highly recommend the tofu with it to soak up all the sauce in the bottom of the plate. The Pad Thai and drunken noodles are absolutely delicious. For any fried rice lovers out there this place is fantastic. The flavors are exactly what I look for in Thai fried rice with a little more sweetness than the usual and it was full of perfectly cooked beef. I've been feeling a little under the weather and I ordered the stir fried pad Kraprow (basil sauce) with chicken spice level: hot and I already feel better. Burned all the sickness out of me lol. This restaurant happens to be one of my favorite places to go because of the intricately designed seating areas hand carved in a Thai style. The staff are always accommodating, friendly and spot on the food. I Totally enjoy anything and everything from their flavorful and delicious menu and often take others to this restaurant because it's so unique and so much fun. By the way, the thing I love the most there are the fresh rolls with the peanut sauce which taste like peanut butter absolutely delicious. Take your choice just vegetable or shrimp.
