BYO-roast beef, pepper jack ,Ikeys sauce
Laura W.

My mom and I decided to stop at Isaac's on our way to Turkey Hill after we saw the sign on the highway. Normally, those signs do not provide an ideal dining experience but Isaac's was quite the exception. It was a weekday so the crowd was thin already, but I felt comfortable being far more than 6 feet from the next table closest to us. Our server was super sweet and friendly, and all protocols were being followed-including paper menus-which was reassuring. Upon introduction, our server brought some pickled veggies to munch on as we reviewed the menu. My mom ordered the Cormorant (house-made cranberry-almond chicken salad provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, cheddar wrap). Our server said it is her mom's favorite. My mom thought it was "just ok". I ordered my son the Kid's version of a classic Isaac's sandwich (Rainbow Bread with turkey, provolone cheese, bacon, tomato and lettuce) and I chose raw carrots as his side. It was super cute they used rainbow bread, although my son only ate the turkey and cheese. I ordered the BYO sandwich with roast beef, pepper jack, Ikey's sauce (horseradish like)-quite the delicious combo. The bread was crusty and soft, the roast beef was not dry and flavorful, and I always love a good horseradish sauce. Isaac's is a chain I wish would come to the DMV because I love a good sandwich and would definitely see myself being a frequent visitor!

Pepperjack tomato soup

This was our first time here. Came over for lunch after surrendering my turtles next door at "That Pet Place". We were starving and i didnt feel like driving elsewhere and this was next door. The BF had the Cormorant wrap and i had the Isaac's Famous Pepperjack Tomato Soup and the Turkey Reuben. The Turkey Reuben is served with swiss cheese and sauerkraut and a touch of thousand island dressing, then grilled on rye with chips on the side The Cormorant has cranberry-almond chicken salad, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes in a cheddar wrap. The Pepperjack tomato soup is to die for. Its creamy and made just right. It went well with my sandwich. For dessert, I was recommended a chocolate brownie. It was just a regular David's brownie. It was good though. Lol. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll try something else on the menu. I do recommend this place.

Menu portion showing Combo pricing

Rip off pricing! The combo (1/2 sandwich and cup of soup or two 1/2 sandwiches) provides no discount whatsoever for the sandwich and just a few cents off on the soup It actually costs more to order a 1/2 sandwich than half the price of a full sandwich. The combo price is made up by selecting a 1/2 sandwich (more expensive than what half of the full sandwich price) then selecting either a cup of soup (a few cents cheaper than the full price) or another 1/2 sandwich Overall the prices are high. $7.49 for a lettuce wedge salad, $4.99 for a mixed greens side salad, $8.59 for a turkey club etc. I don't like being ripped off and don't like prices higher than they should be so wont be back here and i suggest the bagel deli cafe next door which is great and has New York City style bagels, lox, deli sandwiches. etc. But closes at 4 p.m. The lentil soup was adverised as spicy lentil soup but has no bite whatsoever. Still it was okay.

Takeout small size "Pterodactyl," $7.39, next to teaspoon. Yum.

Pretty good quality, but inconsistent from one location to another... and perhaps(?) depends on who happens to be working. On the expensive side, so should be great ALL the time--not just ok. (Btw, my experience at the Strasburg location has been similar, but a little better overall.) I have included a photo of the "regular size" "Pterodactyl" that's priced at $7.39. Be sure to check it out if you want a good laugh! A misnomer for sure... a name change to domething like "The Hummingbird" would be much more accurate. (PLEASE NOTE: pic shows Regular Size--not "small"... but I can't change the caption.) Think I'll go around the corner to Subway next time around. .. at least will know what I'm getting and won't feel that "plucked chicken" twinge.

All of these places are the same, on point. Clean restaurant with short wait times. Plenty of parking with a welcoming fantastic staff sandwiches are good soups are better. The only thing that sets this restaurant aside from the rest is being next door to that fish that pet place!

Half of the Gooney Bird Sandwich.

The shop is tiny and the line builds quickly. She does not get flustered by the line and will take her time to make sure she preps every order the right way, so if you are in a rush, don't bother. Most of the folks are regulars and she knows all by name and typically the persons 'usual.' I can never pass up the rice crispies. So soft and buttery, melt in your mouth! Definitely a gem in the city!

Lancaster's Restaurant Week has again helped us to find another great place to eat…read more We had lunch at the East King Culinary today and were pleasantly surprised with what we found. I had the prosciutto & portobello panini with arugula salad and biscotti, and my wife had the homemade tomato bisque soup, market salad and biscotti. The food was perfect, as were the portions and we have definitely been won over, not only by the food, but also by the owner Antonia, who is both friendly and charming. This is a small shop that offers homemade soups, salads, paninis and sweets for takeout. The menu is small and varies from day to day, but you won't be disappointed. Antonia uses locally sourced goods, artisanal breads, greens and vegetables, even the portobellos are grown locally. This is a plus not only because everything is so fresh, but it also helps the local economy.

I am here to tell you that as a cheese lover, these spreads are BEYOND ridiculous. Seriously. I WISH that we had something this awesome in North Carolina. I swear she uses these dips as an enticement to get me to visit. She tells me that they make a fantastic smoked kielbasa as well. I will be honest, I can't see this shop doing ANYTHING badly. I am so not kidding here. It's like they have an extra ingredient that makes it so addicting. You don't even have to be hungry, once you try the garlic herb dip you can't stop. Until that is you notice the tub is now empty. Run, don't walk, to any of these locations for these truly delicious spreads!

I told my wife, let's break tradition and serve something different for Thanksgiving. Instead of a supermarket ham, let's buy a smoked ham from the Amish country. I found online S. Clive Weaver. I called the store and spoke with the manager. I asked about the store hours as well as Thanksgiving Ham. (I'm thinking it's going to be a blood bath, 1000 people running into the store screaming HAM!) The manager assured me this is not the case, there will be plenty of boneless, smoked ham for us to choose. We pulled up to, it seems like a mini supermarket. Once inside, it felt like when the Wizard of Oz went from Black & White to color. There is EVERYTHING one would need for a holiday dinner. The first thing I noticed was the beautifully arrangement of baskets. There were multiple sizes of meat and cheese baskets, I never had a sweet salami? The blocks of cheese, were cubed and served to our Thanksgiving guests. Everyone loved the unique flavors that are not regional to where I live. They also had a pie station with many different flavors of homemade pies. I brought home a Shoo Fly Pie? Filled with the warm spices of the holiday, another hit with my Family. Now for the Ham, there was a wall of ham! Ham everywhere. I chose a hefty porker, it was very easy to cook. Again, everyone loved the flavor of the smoked ham that I snuck across state lines. S. Clive Weaver, it was a pleasure to shop at your establishment.
