I had a very disappointing experience with Irwin Power and Electric (Greg). I hired Greg to perform over $10,000 worth of electrical work at my home, including installing what I was told would be a complete set of new-generation Google/Nest security cameras. Within just a few weeks, one of the cameras failed. I repeatedly called and left messages but could not get Greg to return my calls or provide any warranty support. After getting nowhere, I hired another electrician to investigate. When we removed the failed camera, it was obvious it was not new. We checked the serial number and determined the camera was more than five years old. That was just one of several issues I experienced with the work. Unfortunately, once the job was paid for, communication essentially stopped, and getting any follow-up service became nearly impossible. Greg was extremely friendly and professional while he was trying to earn the job, but my experience after the work was completed was completely different. Good customer service doesn't end when the final payment is made. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Irwin Power and Electric. If you hire them, I would suggest documenting everything, confirming exactly what equipment is being installed, and verifying that any products represented as new are actually new before making final payment. read more

We had a short or loose wire in one our circuits and three dead plugs in another room. We called Greg at Irwin Power and Electric. What a great guy!!! He pretty much diagnosed the problems over the phone and spent the time with me to detail what he would do to locate and repair the issues if I wanted to try it myself. He gave me a rough estimate if we wanted hire him. Seemed like a reasonable price for the amount of time and effort it would take so we hired him. Sure glad we did! He checked every switch, plug and light on that circuit and made a number of minor upgrades in the process. He eventually found the issue and repaired it along with the three dead plugs. APRIL 2018 UPDATE I gave Greg Irwin business myself, and also gave him more business with a family member. That was in 2014 and I don't know what changed, but after 3 phone calls and 3 text messages over a period of several days, I would think common courtesy warrants a return call or text to advise you're too busy and don't have, nor want, the time for another job. I will not refer Irwin Power and Electric again! I turned to another professional electrician who did an outstanding job with my request, and will be giving a positive review on their company. I got a return call the same day, and an excellent job completed 2 days later. On my way to appt but definitely worth taking the time to highly rate Greg, Irwin Power & Electric. I ran into an electrical problem a couple of days ago with one of my outlets, that eventually could have led to a fire, and Greg showed up on time, professional, very nice man, honest and reasonable prices. He fixed the problem and very conscientious with his work. I would give this company zero stars if I could. After pocketing almost $10k of my money for installing some LED fixtures and installing 6 runs of networking, Greg refuses to come figure out why one of my network ports doesn't work. He is totally unresponsive to my texts and emails. He once wrote back with a vague promise to come troubleshoot but when the time came and went, he was nowhere to be seen. He actually diagnosed my problem over the phone for free and I could have fixed but since he was so nice I had him come do it as well as fix a DIY wiring issues on LED can lights. Greg Irwin wrote me in response to my original review and asked if there is anyway I could give him a chance to redeem his reputation in my eyes. I appreciated his effort and I am aware that we all make mistakes. So I invited him out to the house to do an estimate on our project, which he showed up to this time. He provided me with the estimate in a timely fashion, and we decided to give him a shot to "redeem his reputation" and informed him that we would award him the job. From that point forward he refuses to communicate. I would have to send 2-3 emails (over a 2-3 day span) to hopefully get a four word response. After a week of this type of communication we decided to go with another company, as they have been very responsive and professional throughout the process. It appears that Greg is too busy, not sure, but my experience with his company was less than desirable. read more

What a breath of fresh air! I called to have a chandelier hung and Greg (the owner) was able to squeeze me in the same day on his way home from a big job.
