I called to discuss their error and was told I was billed for TWO office visits for my ONE appointment! So while my 'annual physical' appt was covered 100% under preventative, I was on the line for the 2nd office visit of $250. When we went into the nitty gritty of why I was charged for a 2nd visit, it was from a question the doc asked ME, which I responded with 'it's fine'. It wasn't even a conversation lasting more then 5 SECONDS. After FOUR attempts at calling them to resolve my issue, which nobody ever called me back, I gave up and now go elsewhere.

However I called back and they said that they were going to call a mediation to my pharmacy. I go the pharmacy and nothing was called so naturally I called them back. Some rude assistant picked up trying to rush me off the phone and she said they never called the prescription because the dr wanted to talk to me. I said I wished you called to let me know. She got so rude on the phone and saying she doesn't have time for that and that they are short staffed. I said please do be snippy with me, and as I was speaking to make an appointment she hung up. So I called back, I don't know who picked up (most likely the same person) I said why did I get hang up on, and she hung up again for the third time. Someone called me from the office and without asking me what happened stating that I am being rude to the staff. I laughed because at this point it was funny. I explained myself again, and made an appointment that I cancelled right away .this was just for a physical appointment , what if I was sick and they act like that again and again ....I was going to ask to be a concierge patient, but they don't need my money I guess. He and his staff have always been very responsive and understanding with terrific "Bedside Manner". I took advantage of and enrolled in a Concierge Physicians program to which he belongs. The service offers several benefits. One of the most important benefits for me is virtually instant accessibility to him and/or his staff 24/7. The staff are welcoming, very knowledgable and accommodating as well. They have several locations in the towns of New Haven and Milford which makes it very convenient for anyone with a busy schedule. Dr. Aggarwal himself is unlike ANY doctor I have met or encountered before he really takes the time to "listen" to his patient's needs. Which let's face it, the one thing everyone hates about their doctor's office is that they rarely ever see their doctor and when they do try and explain any of their health needs they are cut off. Dr. Aggarwal and his staff go to great lengths to treat "YOU" not the problem, diagnosis, or treatment category you fall in. Upon arrival the staff was nice and my wait time was not long however while I was waiting in the patient room all I keep hearing was "new patient" "new patient" which told me they are trying to make a good impression however everyone in the waiting room who were waiting before me have not been seen yet. The Exam: Dr. Armel came into the room and said "I need to examine you", so of course I let him do his less than 10 second exam. He did not do a proper assessment, did no palpitations and there was an ultra sound machine there and switch on in which he could of examined further. He wanted to look at my results from Yale in regards to my ultrasound and he had such a hard time getting into the Epic system and I noticed his lack of use of a computer. He was clicking icons and going back and forth copying and pasting the same link over and over again. We was embarrassed for his lack of preparation and asked my girlfriend and I to leave the room so we didn't have to watch him fumble on the PC. I was called back in and he made his prognosis and my girlfriend who is a third year nursing student asked some very good questions using medical terminology and he had an ego and did not want to answer the questions and he seemed to get agitated as if he was being challenged on his expertise. If you tell a patient they have caner I would think questions are going to be asked. Not once did he explain the procedure or any possible options etc. He was not informative and it seemed he was all about collecting the payment for the surgery rather than looking out for my best interest. Very poor bedside manner and used the word UMMM. quite a lot. I did not see confidence in his abilities but rather arrogance and lack of passion. I would not recommend anyone to this practice. Upon leaving the office said they would call me on Monday (after the weekend) and I did not receive a phone call. I have arranged for an appointment at the Smillow Cancer Center due to the glowing reviews of the Urologist surgeon there. Smillow quickly scheduled my visit and I look forward to meeting my new surgeon that based on the reviews will provided exceptional care. I would not put my life and treatment in Dr. Armel's hands.
