I let it slide several times because I figured they have to be exposed to unkindness in order to grow. Well today was absolutely enough. Kate threatened my daughter with screaming at her if she continued to cough. My daughter spent the rest of her time there holding her breath in order to not cough and get an aggressive reaction from Kate. Today my daughter also decided to wear her pajama bottoms to class. Kate called her, a. 6 year old innocent child...poor and broke. What kind of person who is supposed to be trained to work with children behaves this way? Well apparently Kate and she is fully endorsed and supported by the owner, Rina Nicole Hale. I tried reaching out to her to get assurance that this would not happen to another child again and she simply ignored and blocked me. When my daughters let me know what happened I went back inside to withdraw them. Enough was enough. I was calm when speaking with the manager, Kala because she wasn't the aggressor who hurt my daughters feelings. But I was still met with aggression and hostility from Kala. She laughed in my face and tried gaslighting me. Saying no one has ever had a problem with Kate. In between loud annoyed sighs and groans she gave me the worst service. I even asked her why she was behaving that way. I asked for the owners contact information and she said, no one has time for you. I later found out Kala and the owner Rina are best friends so absolutely no disciplinary actions will take place. No customer relations will be mended. After spending so much money on this business we were met with some of the worst treatment we've ever experienced. Please save your children the heartache and save yourself the money. They are not kind people. They do not know how to treat children. They have absolutely no class. They do not know the first thing about customer service.

They are tumbling instructors and were able to help spot a couple of the girls in walk overs that they hadn't done in a while! Having the open gym for a few hours to play was so much fun! First, communication was incredibly difficult. I don't think they have anyone actually in charge of birthday parties because I sent several emails that they just never responded to, etc. Second, I paid to rent out the entire gym for 2 hours (plus a 30 minute setup). When I got there to set up, a cheer team was still there so their stuff was all over the tables in the party room, etc. That wasn't a huge deal, as they asked them to move it and they did. But then, my party time came and went and the ENTIRE CHEER TEAM was still in the gym with hot flat irons and makeup "getting ready for a competition" - this is the gym that I paid to exclusively rent out. And I had 25 four year olds running back and forth through a bunch of cheerleaders doing their hair with hot tools. It was dangerous, incredibly rude, and not what I paid for. The two young coaches running our party did their best, but I don't think they felt like they could make the cheer team move. So they stayed there for nearly half my party, even staying for about 15 minutes after I very expressly told them they were in a space that I rented and they needed to move. There are tons of dance studios with mirrors and other spaces besides the gym (that I paid for) where they could have done their hair and makeup, so this was not a situation where kicking them out would have left them with nowhere to go. Overall, it was just additional stress that was completely unnecessary. I thought that Rogue would call me to collect the rest of the money and that I could express these concerns to them then, but no one ever did - they just ran my card. And of course, true to form, when I tried to call, they didn't answer. So I am leaving this review in the hopes that they fix their birthday party organization and make it clear to their cheer teams that when someone has rented space for exclusive use, that means it's not a good place to do your hair and makeup (I think that's pretty obvious, but I guess cheer moms don't). Without the organizational issues, this would be an awesome place for birthday parties and we would love to go back! But with the issues, we won't be.

Many of the notes in my original review still apply, so check those out for the full details. Again, I do NOT have a kid attending The Palaestra for gymnastics. This is JUST a review based on attending birthday parties here. Since our original visit, the lawyers got a hold of this place. This didn't affect the kids' fun very much, but it did but a little damper on us adults and made the place feel more uptight. Last time we had multiple people in our party hurt themselves, which, hey, was because when adults try to do crazy kid stuff on trampolines... that sort of thing can happen. Nobody sued because our group is cool like that, but it was notably more uptight this time. I can't really blame the place for making this move, but I'm just being honest - last time it was super fun and this time it was... a more typical experience with more rules. So... ya know... Other minus one star: they have recycle bins that are a joke. I'm the guy who snags water bottles sitting neatly on top of the rest of the trash and transfers them to the recycle bin. Here, I found out that their recycle bins are a joke. Literally. They're just more trash cans with labels to make people feel good, thinking they're recycling when they're not. As someone who goes out of their way to not be wasteful, this genuinely pissed me off. Either recycle or don't. Don't lie to me about it. I'm happy to throw plastic bottles in the back of the car to recycle at home. Don't put out "recycle" bins to make me unwittingly trash something that's perfectly recyclable. The kids had a great time, just like the first birthday party I attended here. I think it'd still be a good place to have kids' birthday parties, if you go in knowing there are plenty of rules, etc. But this time I left with a sour taste in my mouth.

I found that a lot of the times they start 2-3 minutes later than scheduled and end a couple minutes earlier so a 45 min class ends up being 35...my daughter has been at other gymnastics classes before and she enjoyed them a lot more. Idk if it's bc this is a huge gym w lots of kids but she just didn't seem to enjoy the classes so I ended up pulling her out.

All staff where the same colored shirts on the same day, so there is an identifiable uniform. Just as cheer wears a certian uniform, socks, shoes, bows etc. So they can be identified and show as a team. (Have different shirts for customers to buy vs the same as staff) 2. *Consistency* in how a class is taught when you have multiple instructors (different one each week) is key for many! (Example: warm up the same, next exercise/apparatuse the same and how the present, explain and demonstrate, and so on) -When there is so much variation students tend to get confused. 3. Show the student how to do the exercise, do not just mark it, as many do not have an idea. Example Cartwheel - show a cartwheel, explain a cartwheel, then help student do cartwheel (just like you do a routine marked or full out, show full out!) 4. When classes are going on, random gym kids are wondering the floor and getting in the way of others. This is a safety hazard and rude to the ones participating in a class. 5. Staff should not be allowed phone use (or even on the mat) during a teaching of a class. 6. Staff greets as one walks in, Hospitality goes a long way in a competitive market (vs talking to friends) Overall kids enjoyed, instructors are nice, however had no big take aways or building on skills. We will be looking for another gym to try.
